Deuteronomy 5:8-10

⁸ ‘^(A)You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any ^[a]likeness of what is in heaven above ^[b]or on the earth beneath ^[c]or in the water under the earth. ⁹ You shall not worship them nor serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, ^(B)inflicting the ^[d]punishment of the fathers on the children, ^[e]even on the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, ¹⁰ but ^(C)showing ^[f]favor to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
