Returning to the Lord

30 “When all these things happen to you—the blessings and curses I have set before you—and you come to your senses while you are in all the nations where the Lord your God has driven you,^{(A) 2} and you and your children return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and all your soul^(B) by doing^[a] everything I am commanding you today, ³ then he will restore your fortunes,^[b](C) have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you.^(D)

¹¹ For I know the plans I have for you”^(A)—this is the Lord’s declaration—“plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. ¹² You will call to me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.^{(B) 13} You will seek me^(C) and find me when you search for me with all your heart. ¹⁴ I will be found by you”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“and I will restore your fortunes^[a](D) and gather you from all the nations and places where I banished you”—this is the Lord’s declaration. “I will restore you to the place from which I deported you.”^(E)

Restoration from Captivity

30 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord. ² “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Write on a scroll all the words that I have spoken to you,^{(A) 3} for look, the days are coming”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“when I will restore the fortunes^[a] of my people Israel and Judah,”^(B) says the Lord. “I will restore them to the land I gave to their ancestors and they will possess it.”
