¹⁰ There shall not be found among you anyone ^(A)who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, a ^(B)soothsayer, one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, ¹¹ or one who casts a spell, ^(C)or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who consults the dead.

¹⁹ When they say to you, “^(A)Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter,” should a people not ^(B)consult their God? Should they ^(C)consult the dead in behalf of the living?
