¹⁷ For the Lord your God is ^(A)God of gods and ^(B)Lord of lords, the great God, ^(C)mighty and awesome, who ^(D)shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.

¹⁶ because it is written, ^(A)“Be holy, for I am holy.”

¹⁷ And if you call on the Father, who ^(B)without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your ^[a]stay here in fear;

Preaching to Cornelius’ Household

³⁴ Then Peter opened his mouth and said: ^(A)“In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.

²⁵ But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and ^(A)there is no partiality.

²⁴ “But ^(A)when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? ^(B)All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.

²⁵ “Yet you say, ^(C)‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ Hear now, O house of Israel, is it not My way which is fair, and your ways which are not fair? ^26 (D)When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and dies in it, it is because of the iniquity which he has done that he dies.
