¹⁵^(A)“The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen— ¹⁶just as you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb ^(B)on the day of the assembly, when you said, ^(C)‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.’ ¹⁷And the Lord said to me, ^(D)‘They are right in what they have spoken. ¹⁸^(E)I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. ^(F)And I will put my words in his mouth, and ^(G)he shall speak to them all that I command him.

    ^(G)Rule in the midst of your enemies!

⁴⁴^(F)“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
until I put your enemies under your feet”’?

⁴⁵If then David calls him Lord, ^(G)how is he his son?” ⁴⁶^(H)And no one was able to answer him a word, ^(I)nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.
