^30 (A)That very night ^(B)Belshazzar the ^(C)Chaldean king was killed. ^31 [a] And ^(D)Darius ^(E)the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.

Daniel and the Lions' Den

6 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom ^(F)120 ^(G)satraps, to be throughout the whole kingdom; ² and over them ^(H)three high officials, of whom Daniel was one, to whom these ^(I)satraps should give account, so that the king might suffer no loss. ³ Then this Daniel became ^(J)distinguished above all ^(K)the other high officials and ^(L)satraps, because ^(M)an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned ^(N)to set him over the whole kingdom.
