⁴⁹ Daniel asked the king to ·make [appoint] Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego leaders over the ·area [^Lprovince] of Babylon, so the king did as Daniel asked. Daniel ·himself became one of the people who stayed [stayed] at the royal court.
