⁵ I saw a dream that made me afraid. As I lay in bed the fancies and ^(A)the visions of my head alarmed me.

Nebuchadnezzar's Dream

2 In the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; ^(A)his spirit was troubled, and ^(B)his sleep left him.

²⁸ “Here is the end of the matter. ^(A)As for me, Daniel, my ^(B)thoughts greatly alarmed me, ^(C)and my color changed, but ^(D)I kept the matter in my heart.”

¹⁰ The queen,^[a] because of the words of the king and his lords, came into the banqueting hall, and the queen declared, ^(A)“O king, live forever! Let not your thoughts alarm you ^(B)or your color change.

^5 (A)Immediately ^(B)the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace, opposite the lampstand. And the king saw ^(C)the hand as it wrote. ^6 (D)Then the king's color changed, ^(E)and his thoughts alarmed him; ^(F)his limbs gave way, and ^(G)his knees knocked together.

²⁸ but ^(A)there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar ^(B)what will be in the latter days. Your dream and ^(C)the visions of your head as you lay in bed are these: ²⁹ To you, O king, as you lay in bed came thoughts of what would be after this, ^(D)and he who reveals mysteries made known to you what is to be.
