El trono en el cielo
4 Después de esto miré, y allí en el cielo había una puerta abierta. Y la voz que me había hablado antes con sonido como de trompeta me dijo: «Sube aquí: voy a mostrarte lo que tiene que suceder después de esto». 2 Al instante vino sobre mí el Espíritu y vi un trono en el cielo, y a alguien sentado en el trono. 3 El que estaba sentado tenía un aspecto semejante a una piedra de jaspe y de cornalina. Alrededor del trono había un arco iris que se asemejaba a una esmeralda. 4 Rodeaban al trono otros veinticuatro tronos, en los que estaban sentados veinticuatro ancianos vestidos de blanco y con una corona de oro en la cabeza. 5 Del trono salían relámpagos, estruendos[a] y truenos. Delante del trono ardían siete antorchas de fuego, que son los siete espíritus de Dios, 6 y había algo parecido a un mar de vidrio, como de cristal transparente.
En el centro, alrededor del trono, había cuatro seres vivientes cubiertos de ojos por delante y por detrás. 7 El primero de los seres vivientes era semejante a un león; el segundo, a un toro; el tercero tenía rostro como de hombre; el cuarto era semejante a un águila en vuelo. 8 Cada uno de ellos tenía seis alas y estaba cubierto de ojos, por encima y por debajo de las alas. Y día y noche repetían sin cesar:
«Santo, santo, santo
es el Señor Dios Todopoderoso,
el que era y que es y que ha de venir».
9 Cada vez que estos seres vivientes daban gloria, honra y acción de gracias al que estaba sentado en el trono, al que vive por los siglos de los siglos, 10 los veinticuatro ancianos se postraban ante él y adoraban al que vive por los siglos de los siglos. Y deponían sus coronas delante del trono exclamando:
11 «Digno eres, Señor y Dios nuestro,
de recibir la gloria, la honra y el poder,
porque tú creaste todas las cosas;
por tu voluntad existen
y fueron creadas».

4 Après cela, je regardai, et voici, une porte était ouverte dans le ciel. La première voix que j'avais entendue, comme le son d'une trompette, et qui me parlait, dit: Monte ici, et je te ferai voir ce qui doit arriver dans la suite.
2 Aussitôt je fus ravi en esprit. Et voici, il y avait un trône dans le ciel, et sur ce trône quelqu'un était assis.
3 Celui qui était assis avait l'aspect d'une pierre de jaspe et de sardoine; et le trône était environné d'un arc-en-ciel semblable à de l'émeraude.
4 Autour du trône je vis vingt-quatre trônes, et sur ces trônes vingt-quatre vieillards assis, revêtus de vêtements blancs, et sur leurs têtes des couronnes d'or.
5 Du trône sortent des éclairs, des voix et des tonnerres. Devant le trône brûlent sept lampes ardentes, qui sont les sept esprits de Dieu.
6 Il y a encore devant le trône comme une mer de verre, semblable à du cristal. Au milieu du trône et autour du trône, il y a quatre êtres vivants remplis d'yeux devant et derrière.
7 Le premier être vivant est semblable à un lion, le second être vivant est semblable à un veau, le troisième être vivant a la face d'un homme, et le quatrième être vivant est semblable à un aigle qui vole.
8 Les quatre êtres vivants ont chacun six ailes, et ils sont remplis d'yeux tout autour et au dedans. Ils ne cessent de dire jour et nuit: Saint, saint, saint est le Seigneur Dieu, le Tout Puisant, qui était, qui est, et qui vient!
9 Quand les êtres vivants rendent gloire et honneur et actions de grâces à celui qui est assis sur le trône, à celui qui vit aux siècles des siècles,
10 les vingt-quatre vieillards se prosternent devant celui qui est assis sur le trône et ils adorent celui qui vit aux siècles des siècles, et ils jettent leurs couronnes devant le trône, en disant:
11 Tu es digne, notre Seigneur et notre Dieu, de recevoir la gloire et l'honneur et la puissance; car tu as créé toutes choses, et c'est par ta volonté qu'elles existent et qu'elles ont été créées.

The Throne in Heaven
4 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open(A) in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet(B) said, “Come up here,(C) and I will show you what must take place after this.”(D) 2 At once I was in the Spirit,(E) and there before me was a throne in heaven(F) with someone sitting on it. 3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper(G) and ruby.(H) A rainbow(I) that shone like an emerald(J) encircled the throne. 4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders.(K) They were dressed in white(L) and had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder.(M) In front of the throne, seven lamps(N) were blazing. These are the seven spirits[a](O) of God. 6 Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass,(P) clear as crystal.
In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures,(Q) and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back.(R) 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle.(S) 8 Each of the four living creatures(T) had six wings(U) and was covered with eyes all around,(V) even under its wings. Day and night(W) they never stop saying:
9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne(Z) and who lives for ever and ever,(AA) 10 the twenty-four elders(AB) fall down before him(AC) who sits on the throne(AD) and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
