³⁷ In those days she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in ^(A)an upper room.

¹³ And when they had entered, they went up to ^(A)the upper room, where they were staying, ^(B)Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon ^(C)the Zealot and Judas the son of James.

⁸ There were many lamps in ^(A)the upper room where we were gathered.

³⁹ So Peter rose and went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to ^(A)the upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics^[a] and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them.

³⁶ So the Jews said, “See ^(A)how he loved him!” ³⁷ But some of them said, “Could not he ^(B)who opened the eyes of the blind man ^(C)also have kept this man from dying?”

³ So the sisters sent to him, saying, “Lord, ^(A)he whom you love is ill.” ⁴ But when Jesus heard it he said, ^(B)“This illness does not lead to death. It is for ^(C)the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

¹⁵ And he will show you ^(A)a large upper room furnished and ready; there prepare for us.”
