⁴⁰ And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, ^(A)“Save yourselves from this ^(B)crooked generation.” ⁴¹ So those who received his word were baptized, and ^(C)there were added that day about three thousand souls.

The Fellowship of the Believers

⁴² And ^(D)they devoted themselves to the apostles' ^(E)teaching and the ^(F)fellowship, to ^(G)the breaking of bread and the prayers. ⁴³ And awe^[a] came upon every soul, and ^(H)many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. ⁴⁴ And all who believed were together and ^(I)had all things in common. ⁴⁵ And ^(J)they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. ⁴⁶ And day by day, ^(K)attending the temple ^(L)together and ^(M)breaking bread in their homes, they received their food ^(N)with glad and generous hearts, ⁴⁷ praising God and ^(O)having favor with all the people. And the Lord ^(P)added to their number ^(Q)day by day those who ^(R)were being saved.

³¹ So, whether you eat or drink, or ^(A)whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. ^32 (B)Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to ^(C)the church of God, ³³ just as ^(D)I try to please everyone in everything I do, ^(E)not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.
