¹³ Moreover, the priest of Zeus, whose temple was ^[a]just outside the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and ^(A)wanted to offer sacrifice with the crowds.

³⁵ After quieting the crowd, the town clerk *said, “Men of ^(A)Ephesus, what person is there after all who does not know that the city of the Ephesians is guardian of the temple of the great ^[a]Artemis and of the image which fell down from ^[b]the sky?
