⁸ But you will receive ^(A)power ^(B)when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and ^(C)you will be ^(D)my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and ^(E)Samaria, and ^(F)to the end of the earth.”

Barnabas and Saul Sent Off

13 Now there were in the church at Antioch ^(A)prophets and ^(B)teachers, ^(C)Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger,^[a] Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a lifelong friend of ^(D)Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. ² While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, ^(E)the Holy Spirit said, ^(F)“Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul ^(G)for the work to which I have called them.” ³ Then after fasting and ^(H)praying they laid their hands on them and ^(I)sent them off.

²⁶ and from there they sailed to Antioch, ^(A)where they had been ^(B)commended to the grace of God for the work that they had fulfilled. ²⁷ And when they arrived and gathered the church together, ^(C)they declared all that God had done with them, and ^(D)how he had ^(E)opened ^(F)a door of faith to the Gentiles. ²⁸ And they remained no little time with the disciples.

Thanksgiving and Prayer

^3 (A)I thank my God ^(B)in all my remembrance of you, ⁴ always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, ^5 (C)because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. ⁶ And I am sure of this, that he who began ^(D)a good work in you ^(E)will bring it to completion at ^(F)the day of Jesus Christ.
