Последние наставления Довуда Сулаймону
2 Когда приблизился смертный час, Довуд дал своему сыну Сулаймону наставление.
2 – Я ухожу путём всей земли, – сказал он. – Будь твёрд, мужествен 3 и исполняй то, чего требует Вечный, твой Бог. Ходи Его путями и исполняй Его установления и повеления, Его законы и заповеди, как написано в Законе Мусо, чтобы тебе преуспеть во всём, что бы ты ни делал и куда бы ни шёл, 4 и чтобы Вечный исполнил Своё слово, которое Он сказал обо мне: «Если твои потомки будут внимательны к путям своим и будут ходить передо Мной в истине от всего сердца и от всей души, то ты никогда не лишишься преемника на престоле Исроила».
5 Далее, ты сам знаешь о том, что сделал мне Иоав, сын Церуи, что сделал он с двумя военачальниками Исроила – Абниром, сыном Нера, и Амасой, сыном Иетера. Он убил их, мстя во время мира за кровь, что была пролита на войне, и запятнал кровью войны пояс на бёдрах и сандалии на ногах.[a] 6 Действуй по своей мудрости, но не дай его седой голове сойти в могилу[b] с миром.
7 А сыновьям Барзиллая из Галаада яви милость, и пусть они будут в числе тех, кто ест за твоим столом. Они пришли ко мне, когда я бежал от твоего брата Авессалома.[c]
8 Ещё у тебя есть Шимей, сын Геры, вениамитянин из Бахурима. Он осыпал меня страшными проклятиями в день, когда я шёл в Маханаим. Когда он вышел встречать меня к Иордану, я поклялся ему Вечным: «Я не предам тебя мечу». 9 Но теперь не считай его невиновным. Ты мудрый человек, ты поймёшь, что с ним сделать. Сведи его седую голову в могилу в крови.[d]
Смерть Довуда(A)
10 И Довуд упокоился со своими предками и был похоронен в Городе Довуда. 11 Он правил Исроилом сорок лет – семь лет в Хевроне и тридцать три года в Иерусалиме. 12 А на престол своего отца Довуда сел Сулаймон, и царство его упрочилось.
Казнь Адонии
13 Адония, сын Хаггиты, пришёл к матери Сулаймона Вирсавии. Вирсавия спросила его:
– С миром ли ты пришёл?
– С миром, – ответил он.
14 Затем он спросил:
– Могу ли я с тобой поговорить?
– Говори, – ответила она.
15 – Ты знаешь, – сказал он, – что царство было моим, и на меня смотрел весь Исроил как на будущего царя. Но всё изменилось, и царство перешло к моему брату, ведь оно было суждено ему от Вечного. 16 И вот, я прошу тебя об одном. Не откажи мне.
– Говори, – сказала она.
17 Он сказал:
– Прошу тебя, поговори с царём Сулаймоном – тебе он не откажет, – чтобы он отдал мне в жёны шунемитянку Авишаг.
18 – Хорошо, – ответила Вирсавия. – Я поговорю о тебе с царём.
19 Когда Вирсавия пришла к царю Сулаймону поговорить с ним об Адонии, царь встал, чтобы встретить её, поклонился ей и сел на свой престол. Он велел принести престол для царской матери, и она села по правую руку от него.
20 – У меня к тебе маленькая просьба, – сказала она. – Не откажи мне.
Царь ответил:
– Проси, моя мать, я не откажу тебе.
21 И она сказала:
– Пусть шунемитянку Авишаг отдадут в жёны твоему брату Адонии.
22 Царь Сулаймон ответил матери:
– И зачем ты просишь для Адонии шунемитянку Авишаг? Проси уж для него и царство – он ведь мой старший брат! Да, для него, для священнослужителя Авиатара и для Иоава, сына Церуи!
23 И царь Сулаймон поклялся Вечным:
– Пусть Всевышний сурово накажет меня, если Адония не заплатит за эту просьбу жизнью! 24 Верно, как и то, что жив Вечный, Который утвердил меня и посадил меня на престол моего отца Довуда и укрепил мой дом, как и обещал, – Адония сегодня же будет предан смерти!
25 Царь Сулаймон отдал приказ Бенаи, сыну Иодая, и тот убил Адонию.
Наказание Авиатара и смерть Иоава
26 А священнослужителю Авиатару царь сказал:
– Ступай в Анатот, к своим полям. Ты заслуживаешь казни, но сегодня я не предам тебя смерти, потому что ты носил сундук[e] Владыки Вечного перед моим отцом Довудом и делил все тяготы жизни с моим отцом.
27 И Сулаймон отстранил Авиатара от служения Вечному, исполняя этим слово, которое Вечный сказал в Шило о доме Илия.[f] 28 Когда новости дошли до Иоава, а Иоав поддержал Адонию, хотя и не поддержал Авессалома, он вбежал в священный шатёр Вечного и схватился за рога жертвенника.[g] 29 Царю Сулаймону доложили, что Иоав убежал в священный шатёр Вечного и находится у жертвенника. И Сулаймон приказал Бенаи, сыну Иодая:
– Иди, убей его!
30 Беная вошёл в священный шатёр Вечного и сказал Иоаву:
– Так говорит царь: «Выходи!»
Но тот ответил:
– Нет, я умру здесь.
Беная доложил царю:
– Вот так ответил мне Иоав.
31 Тогда царь приказал Бенае:
– Сделай, как он говорит. Срази его и похорони, и тем очисть меня и дом моего отца от вины за невинную кровь, что пролил Иоав. 32 Вечный воздаст ему за кровь, которую он пролил, потому что он без ведома моего отца Довуда напал на двух человек и убил их мечом. Оба они – Абнир, сын Нера, военачальник Исроила, и Амаса, сын Иетера, военачальник Иудеи, – были праведнее и лучше его. 33 Пусть вина за их кровь падёт на голову Иоава и его потомков навеки. Но на Довуде и его потомках, его доме и престоле пусть навеки будет мир Вечного.
34 Беная, сын Иодая, пошёл и убил Иоава, и его похоронили на его участке в пустыне. 35 Царь поставил Бенаю, сына Иодая, над войском вместо Иоава, и заменил Авиатара священнослужителем Цадоком.
Смерть Шимея
36 После этого царь послал за Шимеем и сказал ему:
– Построй себе дом в Иерусалиме и живи там, больше никуда не ходи. 37 Знай, в тот день, когда ты уйдёшь и пересечёшь реку Кедрон, ты умрёшь, и сам будешь виновен в своей гибели.
38 Шимей ответил царю:
– Хорошо. Твой раб сделает так, как сказал господин мой царь.
И Шимей оставался в Иерусалиме долгое время. 39 Но три года спустя двое из рабов Шимея убежали к царю города Гата, Ахишу, сыну Маахи, и Шимею донесли:
– Твои рабы в Гате.
40 Тогда он оседлал осла и отправился к Ахишу в Гат искать рабов. Так Шимей ушёл и привёл рабов из Гата. 41 Когда Сулаймону доложили, что Шимей уходил из Иерусалима в Гат и вернулся, 42 царь призвал Шимея и сказал ему:
– Разве я не взял с тебя клятву Вечным и не предупредил тебя: «Знай, в тот день, когда ты пойдёшь, куда бы то ни было, ты умрёшь»? Ты тогда сказал мне: «Хорошо. Я буду послушен». 43 Почему же ты не сдержал клятву Вечному и не послушался моего повеления?
44 Ещё царь сказал Шимею:
– В своём сердце ты хранишь память обо всём том зле, которое ты сделал моему отцу Довуду. Теперь Вечный воздаст тебе за твоё злодеяние. 45 А царь Сулаймон будет благословен, и престол Довуда останется непоколебимым перед Вечным вовеки.
46 И царь отдал приказ Бенаи, сыну Иодая, и тот вышел и убил Шимея. Так царство надёжно упрочилось во власти Сулаймона.

David’s Charge to Solomon(A)
2 When the time drew near for David to die,(B) he gave a charge to Solomon his son.
2 “I am about to go the way of all the earth,”(C) he said. “So be strong,(D) act like a man, 3 and observe(E) what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper(F) in all you do and wherever you go 4 and that the Lord may keep his promise(G) to me: ‘If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully(H) before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’
5 “Now you yourself know what Joab(I) son of Zeruiah did to me—what he did to the two commanders of Israel’s armies, Abner(J) son of Ner and Amasa(K) son of Jether. He killed them, shedding their blood in peacetime as if in battle, and with that blood he stained the belt around his waist and the sandals on his feet. 6 Deal with him according to your wisdom,(L) but do not let his gray head go down to the grave in peace.
7 “But show kindness(M) to the sons of Barzillai(N) of Gilead and let them be among those who eat at your table.(O) They stood by me when I fled from your brother Absalom.
8 “And remember, you have with you Shimei(P) son of Gera, the Benjamite from Bahurim, who called down bitter curses on me the day I went to Mahanaim.(Q) When he came down to meet me at the Jordan, I swore(R) to him by the Lord: ‘I will not put you to death by the sword.’ 9 But now, do not consider him innocent. You are a man of wisdom;(S) you will know what to do to him. Bring his gray head down to the grave in blood.”
10 Then David rested with his ancestors and was buried(T) in the City of David.(U) 11 He had reigned(V) forty years over Israel—seven years in Hebron and thirty-three in Jerusalem. 12 So Solomon sat on the throne(W) of his father David, and his rule was firmly established.(X)
Solomon’s Throne Established
13 Now Adonijah,(Y) the son of Haggith, went to Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother. Bathsheba asked him, “Do you come peacefully?”(Z)
He answered, “Yes, peacefully.” 14 Then he added, “I have something to say to you.”
“You may say it,” she replied.
15 “As you know,” he said, “the kingdom was mine. All Israel looked to me as their king. But things changed, and the kingdom has gone to my brother; for it has come to him from the Lord. 16 Now I have one request to make of you. Do not refuse me.”
“You may make it,” she said.
17 So he continued, “Please ask King Solomon—he will not refuse you—to give me Abishag(AA) the Shunammite as my wife.”
18 “Very well,” Bathsheba replied, “I will speak to the king for you.”
19 When Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him for Adonijah, the king stood up to meet her, bowed down to her and sat down on his throne. He had a throne brought for the king’s mother,(AB) and she sat down at his right hand.(AC)
20 “I have one small request to make of you,” she said. “Do not refuse me.”
The king replied, “Make it, my mother; I will not refuse you.”
21 So she said, “Let Abishag(AD) the Shunammite be given in marriage to your brother Adonijah.”
22 King Solomon answered his mother, “Why do you request Abishag(AE) the Shunammite for Adonijah? You might as well request the kingdom for him—after all, he is my older brother(AF)—yes, for him and for Abiathar(AG) the priest and Joab son of Zeruiah!”
23 Then King Solomon swore by the Lord: “May God deal with me, be it ever so severely,(AH) if Adonijah does not pay with his life for this request! 24 And now, as surely as the Lord lives—he who has established me securely on the throne of my father David and has founded a dynasty for me as he promised(AI)—Adonijah shall be put to death today!” 25 So King Solomon gave orders to Benaiah(AJ) son of Jehoiada, and he struck down Adonijah and he died.(AK)
26 To Abiathar(AL) the priest the king said, “Go back to your fields in Anathoth.(AM) You deserve to die, but I will not put you to death now, because you carried the ark(AN) of the Sovereign Lord before my father David and shared all my father’s hardships.”(AO) 27 So Solomon removed Abiathar from the priesthood of the Lord, fulfilling(AP) the word the Lord had spoken at Shiloh about the house of Eli.
28 When the news reached Joab, who had conspired with Adonijah though not with Absalom, he fled to the tent of the Lord and took hold of the horns(AQ) of the altar. 29 King Solomon was told that Joab had fled to the tent of the Lord and was beside the altar.(AR) Then Solomon ordered Benaiah(AS) son of Jehoiada, “Go, strike him down!”
30 So Benaiah entered the tent(AT) of the Lord and said to Joab, “The king says, ‘Come out!(AU)’”
But he answered, “No, I will die here.”
Benaiah reported to the king, “This is how Joab answered me.”
31 Then the king commanded Benaiah, “Do as he says. Strike him down and bury him, and so clear me and my whole family of the guilt of the innocent blood(AV) that Joab shed. 32 The Lord will repay(AW) him for the blood he shed,(AX) because without my father David knowing it he attacked two men and killed them with the sword. Both of them—Abner son of Ner, commander of Israel’s army, and Amasa(AY) son of Jether, commander of Judah’s army—were better(AZ) men and more upright than he. 33 May the guilt of their blood rest on the head of Joab and his descendants forever. But on David and his descendants, his house and his throne, may there be the Lord’s peace forever.”
34 So Benaiah(BA) son of Jehoiada went up and struck down Joab(BB) and killed him, and he was buried at his home out in the country. 35 The king put Benaiah(BC) son of Jehoiada over the army in Joab’s position and replaced Abiathar with Zadok(BD) the priest.
36 Then the king sent for Shimei(BE) and said to him, “Build yourself a house in Jerusalem and live there, but do not go anywhere else. 37 The day you leave and cross the Kidron Valley,(BF) you can be sure you will die; your blood will be on your own head.”(BG)
38 Shimei answered the king, “What you say is good. Your servant will do as my lord the king has said.” And Shimei stayed in Jerusalem for a long time.
39 But three years later, two of Shimei’s slaves ran off to Achish(BH) son of Maakah, king of Gath, and Shimei was told, “Your slaves are in Gath.” 40 At this, he saddled his donkey and went to Achish at Gath in search of his slaves. So Shimei went away and brought the slaves back from Gath.
41 When Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and had returned, 42 the king summoned Shimei and said to him, “Did I not make you swear by the Lord and warn(BI) you, ‘On the day you leave to go anywhere else, you can be sure you will die’? At that time you said to me, ‘What you say is good. I will obey.’ 43 Why then did you not keep your oath to the Lord and obey the command I gave you?”
44 The king also said to Shimei, “You know in your heart all the wrong(BJ) you did to my father David. Now the Lord will repay you for your wrongdoing. 45 But King Solomon will be blessed, and David’s throne will remain secure(BK) before the Lord forever.”
46 Then the king gave the order to Benaiah(BL) son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck Shimei(BM) down and he died.
The kingdom was now established(BN) in Solomon’s hands.

2 大卫临终时，叮嘱他儿子所罗门说： 2 “我要走世人都必走的那条路了。你要刚强，做大丈夫。 3 你要遵从你的上帝耶和华的话，遵行祂的道，照摩西的律法遵守上帝的律例、诫命、典章和法度。这样，你无论做什么、去哪里都必亨通， 4 耶和华必履行给我的应许，祂对我说，‘如果你的子孙谨慎自守，忠心地事奉我，你的王朝必世代相传。’
5 “你知道洗鲁雅的儿子约押怎样对我，他杀了以色列的两名元帅——尼珥的儿子押尼珥和益帖的儿子亚玛撒。他在太平的时候把他们当作战场的敌手杀害，腰带和鞋子上沾满了他们的血。 6 你要用智慧处置他，不可让他安享天年。
7 “你要恩待基列人巴西莱的众子，让他们成为你的座上宾，因为我逃避你哥哥押沙龙的时候，他们曾接待我。

26 王对亚比亚他祭司说：“你回亚拿突的老家去吧。你本是该死的，但我念你在我父大卫面前抬过主耶和华的约柜，曾经与我父亲患难与共，才饶你一命。” 27 所罗门就罢免了亚比亚他的职位，不许他再做耶和华的祭司。这事应验了耶和华在示罗所说的有关以利家的预言。
28 约押虽然没有支持押沙龙，但却支持了亚多尼雅。他听见风声，就逃进圣幕，抓住祭坛的角。 29 有人把这消息告诉所罗门王，说约押已经逃进圣幕，躲在祭坛旁边。所罗门就派耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅去杀他。 30 比拿雅来到耶和华的圣幕，对约押说：“王吩咐你出来！”约押却回答说：“不，我要死在这里。”比拿雅回去禀告王。

41 所罗门听说示每从耶路撒冷前往迦特，已经返回， 42 就派人召来示每，问道：“我不是叫你凭耶和华起誓不离开耶路撒冷吗？我警告过你，你哪天离开这里，哪天必死无疑。当时你也同意。 43 现在你为何不守你向耶和华起的誓，不遵行我的命令？” 44 王又说：“你以前如何恶待我父大卫，你自己心里明白，现在耶和华要追究你的罪行了。 45 但所罗门王必蒙祝福，大卫的王位在耶和华面前必永远稳固。”
46 于是，王命令耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅杀死示每。这样所罗门的江山得以稳固。

10 Apoi David s-a culcat alături de părinţii săi şi a fost înmormântat în Cetatea lui David. 11 El domnise peste Israel timp de patruzeci de ani: la Hebron a domnit şapte ani, iar la Ierusalim a domnit treizeci şi trei de ani. 12 Astfel, Solomon i-a urmat la tron tatălui său, David, şi domnia lui s-a întărit foarte mult.

13 Adonia, fiul Haghitei, a venit la Batşeba, mama lui Solomon. Ea l-a întrebat:

17 – Te rog, cere-i regelui Solomon ca Abişag şunamita să-mi fie dată de soţie, a zis el, fiindcă nu te va refuza.
18 – Bine, a răspuns Batşeba, am să mijlocesc la rege pentru tine.
19 Batşeba s-a dus la regele Solomon ca să vorbească pentru Adonia. Regele s-a ridicat s-o întâmpine, s-a plecat înaintea ei şi apoi s-a aşezat pe tron. El a poruncit să se aducă un tron şi pentru mama lui, iar ea s-a aşezat la dreapta lui. 20 Apoi ea a zis:
– Am să-ţi fac o mică rugăminte. Nu mă refuza!
– Spune, mamă, căci nu te voi refuza, i-a răspuns regele.
21 – Abişag şunamita să-i fie dată de soţie fratelui tău Adonia, i-a cerut ea.
22 Regele Solomon i-a răspuns mamei sale:
– De ce o ceri doar pe Abişag din Şunem pentru Adonia? Cere şi domnia pentru el[b], căci este fratele meu mai mare; cere-o pentru el, pentru preotul Abiatar şi pentru Ioab, fiul Ţeruiei!
23 Atunci regele Solomon a jurat pe Domnul, zicând: „Dumnezeu să se poarte cu mine cu toată asprimea[c], dacă cuvintele acestea nu-l vor costa viaţa pe Adonia. 24 Viu este Domnul Care m-a întărit şi m-a aşezat pe tronul tatălui meu, David, şi Care mi-a făcut o Casă după cum a promis, că Adonia va muri astăzi!“ 25 Regele Solomon l-a trimis pe Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, să-l omoare pe Adonia; şi astfel Adonia a murit.
26 După aceea, regele i-a zis preotului Abiatar: „Du-te la proprietăţile tale de la Anatot, căci meriţi să mori, dar nu te voi omorî astăzi, pentru că ai purtat Chivotul Domnului, Stăpânul, înaintea tatălui meu, David, şi pentru că ai luat parte la tot ce a suferit tatăl meu.“ 27 Astfel, Solomon l-a îndepărtat pe Abiatar din slujba de preot al Domnului, împlinind cuvântul pe care Domnul îl rostise la Şilo despre Casa lui Eli. 28 Când a primit vestea, Ioab, care trecuse de partea lui Adonia, deşi nu trecuse de partea lui Absalom, a fugit la Cortul Domnului şi s-a prins de coarnele altarului. 29 Regelui Solomon i s-a spus că Ioab a fugit la Cortul Domnului şi că era la altar. Atunci Solomon l-a trimis pe Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, poruncindu-i: „Du-te şi omoară-l!“ 30 Benaia s-a dus la Cortul Domnului şi i-a zis lui Ioab:
– Regele a poruncit să ieşi afară!
– Nu! a răspuns el. Vreau să mor aici!
Benaia s-a întors la rege şi i-a spus cuvintele lui Ioab. 31 Regele i-a poruncit: „Fă-i după cum a cerut. Omoară-l, îngroapă-l şi îndepărtează astfel de peste mine şi de peste familia tatălui meu sângele nevinovat, pe care l-a vărsat Ioab. 32 Domnul îl va pedepsi pentru sângele vărsat, pentru că i-a lovit pe cei doi bărbaţi care erau mai drepţi şi mai buni decât el şi i-a omorât cu sabia pe Abner, fiul lui Ner, conducătorul oştirii lui Israel, şi pe Amasa, fiul lui Ieter, conducătorul oştirii lui Iuda, fără ca tatăl meu, David, să ştie acest lucru. 33 Sângele lor să cadă asupra capului lui Ioab şi a urmaşilor lui pentru totdeauna, dar asupra lui David, a seminţei[d] lui, a Casei lui şi a tronului său să fie pace de la Domnul pe vecie.“ 34 Atunci Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, s-a dus, l-a lovit pe Ioab şi l-a omorât. Acesta a fost îngropat apoi în proprietatea[e] lui din pustie. 35 Regele l-a numit pe Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, conducător al oştirii în locul lui Ioab, iar pe preotul Ţadok l-a pus în locul lui Abiatar.
36 Apoi regele l-a chemat pe Şimei şi i-a zis:
– Zideşte-ţi o casă în Ierusalim şi locuieşte acolo, dar să nu pleci în altă parte. 37 Fii sigur că, în ziua în care vei pleca şi vei trece uedul[f] Chidron, vei muri. Atunci sângele tău va cădea asupra capului tău!
38 – Bine, i-a răspuns Şimei, slujitorul tău va face aşa cum a zis stăpânul meu, regele!
39 Trei ani mai târziu însă doi dintre slujitorii lui Şimei au fugit la Achiş, fiul lui Maaca, regele Gatului. Lui Şimei i s-a spus: „Iată că slujitorii tăi sunt la Gat!“ 40 Atunci Şimei şi-a înşeuat măgarul şi s-a dus la Achiş, la Gat, ca să-şi caute slujitorii. Şimei a plecat şi şi-a adus slujitorii înapoi de la Gat. 41 Solomon a aflat că Şimei a plecat din Ierusalim la Gat şi că s-a întors. 42 Atunci regele l-a chemat pe Şimei şi i-a zis: „Nu te-am pus eu să juri pe Domnul şi nu te-am avertizat că vei muri negreşit în ziua în care vei ieşi din Ierusalim ca să pleci în altă parte? Şi nu mi-ai răspuns tu: «Bine! Voi asculta!» 43 De ce nu ţi-ai ţinut jurământul făcut Domnului şi nu ai ascultat porunca pe care ţi-am dat-o?“ 44 Regele i-a mai zis lui Şimei: „Tu ştii în inima ta tot răul pe care i l-ai făcut tatălui meu, David. Acum Domnul a întors răutatea ta asupra capului tău! 45 Dar regele Solomon va fi binecuvântat, iar tronul lui David va fi păzit înaintea Domnului pe vecie.“ 46 Şi regele i-a poruncit lui Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, să-l omoare; el a ieşit, l-a lovit pe Şimei şi l-a omorât. Şi astfel domnia s-a întărit în mâinile lui Solomon.
