32 (A)For who is God, except the Lord?
(B)And who is a rock, except our God?
33 (C)God is my strong fortress;
And He [a]sets the [b]blameless on [c]His way.
34 (D)He makes [d]my feet like deer’s feet,
(E)And sets me on my high places.
35 (F)He trains my hands for battle,
(G)So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
36 You have also given me (H)the shield of Your salvation,
And Your [e]help makes me great.
37 (I)You enlarge my steps under me,
And my [f]feet have not slipped.
38 I pursued my enemies and (J)eliminated them,
And I did not turn back until they were finished off.
39 And I have devoured them and smashed them, so that they would not rise;
And (K)they fell under my feet.
40 For You have encircled me with strength for battle;
You have forced (L)those who rose up against me to bow down under me.
41 You have also (M)made my enemies turn their backs to me,
And I [g]destroyed those who hated me.
42 (N)They looked, but there was no one to save them;
(O)Even to the Lord, but He did not answer them.
43 (P)Then I pulverized them as the dust of the earth;
(Q)I crushed and trampled them like the mud of the streets.
44 (R)You have also saved me from the contentions of my people;
(S)You have kept me as head of the nations;
(T)A people I have not known serve me.
45 (U)Foreigners pretend to obey me;
As soon as they hear, they obey me.
46 Foreigners lose heart,
(V)And [h]come trembling out of their fortresses.
47 The Lord lives, and blessed be my Rock;
And exalted be [i](W)my God, the rock of my salvation,
48 (X)The God who executes vengeance for me,
(Y)And brings down peoples under me,
49 Who also brings me out from my enemies;
You also raise me above (Z)those who rise up against me;
(AA)You rescue me from the violent person.
50 (AB)Therefore I will [j]give thanks to You, Lord, among the nations,
And I will sing praises to Your name.
51 (AC)He is a tower of [k]salvation to His king,
And (AD)shows favor to His anointed,
(AE)To David and his [l]descendants forever.”

David’s Last Song

23 Now these are the last words of David.

David the son of Jesse declares,
(AF)The man who was raised on high,
(AG)The anointed of the God of Jacob
And the sweet psalmist of Israel, declares,
(AH)The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me,
And His word was on my tongue.
The God of Israel said it;
(AI)The Rock of Israel spoke to me:
(AJ)He who rules over mankind righteously,
(AK)Who rules in the fear of God,
(AL)Is like the light of the morning when the sun rises,
A morning without clouds,
When the fresh grass springs out of the earth
From sunshine after rain.’
Is my house not indeed so with God?
For (AM)He has made an everlasting covenant with me,
Properly ordered in all things, and secured;
For will He not indeed make
All my salvation and all my delight grow?

Therefore, as you have received (A)Christ Jesus the Lord, so [a](B)walk in Him, having been firmly (C)rooted and now being (D)built up in Him and (E)established [b]in [c]your faith, just as you (F)were instructed, and overflowing [d]with gratitude.

(G)See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through (H)philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the (I)elementary principles of the world, [e]rather than in accordance with Christ. For in Him all the (J)fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been (K)made [f]complete, and (L)He is the head [g]over every (M)ruler and authority; 11 and in Him (N)you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without hands, in the removal of (O)the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ, 12 having been (P)buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also (Q)raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who (R)raised Him from the dead. 13 And [h]when you were (S)dead [i]in your wrongdoings and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He (T)made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our wrongdoings, 14 having canceled (U)the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and (V)He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 When He had [j](W)disarmed the (X)rulers and authorities, He (Y)made a public display of them, having (Z)triumphed over them through [k]Him.

Preach the Word

(A)I solemnly exhort you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to (B)judge the living and the dead, and by His (C)appearing and His kingdom: preach (D)the word; be ready [a]in season and out of season; (E)correct, rebuke, and [b]exhort, with [c]great (F)patience and instruction. For (G)the time will come when they will not tolerate (H)sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, and they (I)will turn their ears away from the truth and (J)will turn aside to myths. But as for you, (K)use self-restraint in all things, (L)endure hardship, do the work of an (M)evangelist, fulfill your (N)ministry.

For I am already being (O)poured out as a drink offering, and the time of (P)my departure has come. (Q)I have fought the good fight, I have finished (R)the course, I have kept (S)the faith; in the future there (T)is reserved for me (U)the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on (V)that day; and not only to me, but also to (W)all who have loved His (X)appearing.

Jesus, the Example

12 Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s (A)rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s (B)run with (C)endurance the race that is set before us, looking only at Jesus, the [a](D)originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him (E)endured the cross, (F)despising the shame, and has (G)sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
