17 Un jour viendra où tout ce qui est dans ton palais et tout ce que tes ancêtres ont amassé jusqu’à ce jour sera emporté à Babylone ; il n’en restera rien ici, déclare l’Eternel[a]. 18 Plusieurs de tes propres descendants, issus de toi, seront emmenés et deviendront serviteurs dans le palais du roi de Babylone[b].
19 Ezéchias répondit à Esaïe : La parole de l’Eternel que tu viens de me transmettre est bonne. Car, ajouta-t-il, nous aurons donc la paix et la sécurité tant que je vivrai.

20 Les autres faits et gestes d’Ezéchias, tous ses exploits, ses réalisations, en particulier la construction du réservoir et de l’acqueduc pour amener l’eau dans la ville[c], tout cela est cité dans le livre des Annales des rois de Juda.

17 The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your predecessors have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon.(A) Nothing will be left, says the Lord. 18 And some of your descendants,(B) your own flesh and blood who will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”(C)
19 “The word of the Lord you have spoken is good,” Hezekiah replied. For he thought, “Will there not be peace and security in my lifetime?”
20 As for the other events of Hezekiah’s reign, all his achievements and how he made the pool(D) and the tunnel(E) by which he brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
