14 (A)since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, (B)as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. 15 And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.

16 For we did not follow (C)cleverly devised (D)myths when we made known to you (E)the power and (F)coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but (G)we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, (H)“This is my beloved Son,[a] with whom I am well pleased,”

16 For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power,(D) but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.(E) 17 He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”[a](F)
