¹³ However, Elisha said to King Joram of Israel, ‘What do we have in common? Go to the prophets of your father and your mother! ’^(A)

But the king of Israel replied, ‘No, because it is the Lord who has summoned these three kings to hand them over to Moab.’

²⁵ The Lord highly exalted Solomon in the sight of all Israel^(A) and bestowed on him such royal majesty as had not been bestowed on any king over Israel before him.^(B)

Solomon’s Request for Wisdom

1 Solomon son of David strengthened his hold on his kingdom.^(A) The Lord his God was with him and highly exalted him.^(B)
