2 Kings 25:3-5

3 And the ninth day of the month the famine was [a]sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
4 Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled by night, by the way of the [b]gate, which is between two walls that was by the king’s garden: now the Chaldeans were by the city round about: and the king went by the way of the wilderness.
5 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and took him in the deserts of Jericho, and all his host was scattered from him.
