15 Elisha told him, “Take a bow and some arrows,” and he did so.[a] 16 Then Elisha[b] told the king of Israel, “Aim the bow.”[c] He did so,[d] and Elisha placed his hands on the king’s hands. 17 Elisha[e] said, “Open the east window,” and he did so.[f] Elisha said, “Shoot!” and he did so.[g] Elisha[h] said, “This arrow symbolizes the victory the Lord will give you over Syria.[i] You will annihilate Syria in Aphek!”[j]

17 “Open the east window,” he said, and he opened it. “Shoot!”(B) Elisha said, and he shot. “The Lord’s arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram!” Elisha declared. “You will completely destroy the Arameans at Aphek.”(C)
