2 Corinthians 3:14-18

Amplified Bible

¹⁴But [in fact] their minds were hardened [for they had lost the ability to understand]; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed [only] in Christ. ¹⁵But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil [of blindness] lies over their heart; ¹⁶but whenever a person turns [in repentance and faith] to the Lord, the veil is taken away. ¹⁷Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [emancipation from bondage, true freedom].^(A) ¹⁸And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.

¹⁴But their minds were made dull,^(A) for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant^(B) is read.^(C) It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. ¹⁵Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. ¹⁶But whenever anyone turns to the Lord,^(D) the veil is taken away.^(E) ¹⁷Now the Lord is the Spirit,^(F) and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.^(G) ¹⁸And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate^[a]^(H) the Lord’s glory,^(I) are being transformed into his image^(J) with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
