18 For a majority of the people, many from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves. But they ate the Passover sacrifice otherwise than prescribed,[a] but Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, “May the good Yahweh make atonement unto 19 everyone whose heart is set to seek God, Yahweh the God of his ancestors,[b] though not according to the cleansing for the sanctuary.” 20 And Yahweh listened to Hezekiah, and he healed the people.

18 Although most of the many people who came from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun had not purified themselves,(A) yet they ate the Passover, contrary to what was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, “May the Lord, who is good, pardon everyone 19 who sets their heart on seeking God—the Lord, the God of their ancestors—even if they are not clean according to the rules of the sanctuary.” 20 And the Lord heard(B) Hezekiah and healed(C) the people.(D)
