2 Ti esorto dunque prima di ogni cosa, che si facciano suppliche, preghiere intercessioni e ringraziamenti per tutti gli uomini,
2 per i re e per tutti quelli che sono in autorità, affinché possiamo condurre una vita tranquilla e quieta in ogni pietà e decoro.
3 Questo infatti è buono ed accettevole davanti a Dio, nostro Salvatore,
4 il quale vuole che tutti gli uomini siano salvati, e che vengano alla conoscenza della verità.
5 Vi è infatti un solo Dio, ed anche un solo mediatore tra Dio e gli uomini: Cristo Gesú uomo,
6 il quale ha dato se stesso come prezzo di riscatto per tutti, secondo la testimonianza resa nei tempi stabiliti,
7 di cui io sono stato costituito banditore e apostolo (dico la verità in Cristo e non mento), dottore dei gentili nella fede e nella verità.
8 Voglio dunque che gli uomini preghino in ogni luogo, alzando le mani pure, senza ira e dispute.
9 Similmente le donne si vestano in modo decoroso, con verecondia e modestia e non di trecce o d'oro, o di perle o di abiti costosi
10 ma di buone opere, come conviene a donne che fanno professione di pietà.
11 La donna impari in silenzio, con ogni sottomissione.
12 Non permetto alla donna d'insegnare, né di usare autorità sull'uomo, ma ordino che stia in silenzio.
13 Infatti è stato formato per primo Adamo e poi Eva.
14 E non fu Adamo ad essere sedotto ma fu la donna che, essendo stata sedotta, cadde in trasgressione.
15 Tuttavia essa sarà salvata partorendo figli, se persevererà nella fede, nell'amore e nella santificazione con modestia.

Pray for All Men
2 Therefore I [a]exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 (A)for kings and (B)all who are in [b]authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and [c]reverence. 3 For this is (C)good and acceptable in the sight (D)of God our Savior, 4 (E)who desires all men to be saved (F)and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 (G)For there is one God and (H)one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 (I)who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 7 (J)for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth [d]in Christ and not lying—(K)a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

8 I desire therefore that the men pray (L)everywhere, (M)lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; 9 in like manner also, that the (N)women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and [e]moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, 10 (O)but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works. 11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. 12 And (P)I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. 15 Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.

2 Una-una nga sa lahat ng mga bagay, ay iniaaral ko na manaing, manalangin, mamagitan, at magpasalamat na patungkol sa lahat ng mga tao;
2 Ang mga hari at ang lahat ng nangasa mataas na kalagayan; upang tayo'y mangabuhay na tahimik at payapa sa buong kabanalan at kahusayan.
3 Ito'y mabuti at nakalulugod sa paningin ng Dios na ating Tagapagligtas;
4 Na siyang may ibig na ang lahat ng mga tao'y mangaligtas, at mangakaalam ng katotohanan.
5 Sapagka't may isang Dios at may isang Tagapamagitan sa Dios at sa mga tao, ang taong si Cristo Jesus,
6 Na ibinigay ang kaniyang sarili na pangtubos sa lahat; na pagpapatotoong mahahayag sa sariling kapanahunan;
7 Na dito'y itinalaga ako na tagapangaral at apostol (sinasabi ko ang katotohanan, hindi ako nagsisinungaling), guro sa mga Gentil sa pananampalataya at katotohanan.
8 Ibig ko ngang ang mga tao'y magsipanalangin sa bawa't dako, na iunat ang mga kamay na banal, na walang galit at pakikipagtalo.
9 Gayon din naman, na ang mga babae ay magsigayak ng mahinhing damit na may katimtiman at hinahon; hindi ng mahalagang hiyas ng buhok, at ginto o perlas o damit na mahalaga;
10 Kundi (siyang nararapat sa mga babae na magpakabanal) sa pamamagitan ng mabubuting gawa.
11 Ang babae'y magaral na tumahimik na may buong pagkapasakop.
12 Nguni't hindi ko ipinahihintulot na ang babae ay magturo, ni magkaroon ng pamumuno sa lalake, kundi tumahimik.
13 Sapagka't si Adam ay siyang unang nilalang, saka si Eva;
14 At si Adam ay hindi nadaya, kundi ang babae nang madaya ay nahulog sa pagsalangsang;
15 Nguni't ililigtas siya sa pamamagitan ng panganganak, kung sila'y magsisipamalagi sa pananampalataya at pagibig at sa pagpapakabanal na may hinahon.
