¹⁶ And most certainly, the mystery of godliness^(A) is great:

³⁹ Look at My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself!^(A) Touch Me and see,^(B) because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have.” ⁴⁰ Having said this, He showed them His hands and feet. ⁴¹ But while they still were amazed and unbelieving because of their joy, He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” ⁴² So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish,^{[a] 43} and He took it and ate in their presence.

The Ascension of Jesus

⁵⁰ Then He led them out as far as Bethany,^(A) and lifting up His hands^(B) He blessed them. ⁵¹ And while He was blessing them, He left them and was carried up into heaven.^(C)

The Disciples Commissioned

¹⁹ In the evening of that first day of the week,^(A) the disciples were gathered together with the doors locked because of their fear of the Jews. Then Jesus came, stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!”^(B)

²⁰ Having said this, He showed them His hands and His side.^(C) So the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

²⁷ Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and observe My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Don’t be an unbeliever, but a believer.”^(A)

⁴² So it is with the resurrection of the dead:

² This is how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has^[a] come in the flesh^(A) is from God.^{(B) 3} But every spirit who does not confess Jesus^[b] is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist;^(C) you have heard that he is coming, and he is already in the world now.

⁷ Many deceivers have gone out into the world; they do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh.^[a](A) This is the deceiver and the antichrist.^(B)
