23 ¶ Yon jou, David vin konnen moun Filisti yo t' al atake lavil Keyila, yo t'ap vòlò tout grenn jaden moun yo te gen sou glasi yo.
2 Lè sa a, David al mande Seyè a: -Eske mwen mèt al atake moun Filisti yo? Seyè a di David: -Ou mèt ale! Atake yo. Delivre lavil Keyila.
3 Men, moun David yo di l' konsa: -Kote nou ye bò isit la nan peyi Jida, nou te pè kont kò nou deja. Sa pral pi rèd pou nou si se pou n' al lavil Keyila pou n' goumen ak lame moun Filisti yo.
4 David tounen al pale ak Seyè a ankò. Seyè a reponn li: -Leve non! Desann lavil Keyila, paske m'ap lage moun Filisti yo nan men ou.
5 Se konsa, David mache sou lavil Keyila avèk tout moun ki te avè l' yo. Li atake moun Filisti yo. Li touye anpil nan yo, epi li pran tout zannimo yo. Se konsa David te delivre moun lavil Keyila yo.
6 Lè Abyata, pitit gason Akimelèk la, te sove al jwenn David, li te desann lavil Keyila avèk Bwat Kontra Bondye a nan men l'.
7 ¶ Yo vin di Sayil David te desann lavil Keyila. Epi Sayil di: -Bondye lage l' nan men m' koulye a. Gade ki jan David al fèmen kò l' nan yon lavil ki gen gwo miray ak gwo pòtay byen solid!
8 Se konsa Sayil fè rele tout lame li a pou y' al goumen, pou yo mache sou lavil Keyila, pou yo sènen David ansanm ak tout moun ki te avè l' yo.
9 Lè David tande Sayil te fè lide vin atake l', li rele Abyata, prèt la, li di l' konsa: -Pote Bwat Bondye a vini!
10 Epi David di: -Seyè, ou menm ki Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, mwen tande yo di Sayil pare pou l' antre lavil Keyila, pou l' kraze l' nèt e se dèyè m' li ye.
11 Eske moun lavil Keyila yo pral lage m' nan men l'? Eske se tout bon Sayil ap desann jan yo di m' li an? O Seyè, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, tanpri, di m' si se vre? Seyè a reponn: -Sayil ap desann vre!
12 David di li: -Eske moun lavil Keyila yo pral lage m' nan men Sayil? Seyè a reponn: -Y'ap fè l' vre.
13 Se konsa David leve ansanm ak tout moun ki te avè l' yo. Yo te sisan (600) konsa. Yo kite lavil Keyila lamenm, yo pati, yo pran mache san konnen kote yo prale. Lè Sayil vin konnen David te chape soti lavil Keyila, li chanje lide, li pa mache sou Keyila ankò.
14 ¶ David te rete kache nan falèz ki nan dezè Zif la, Sayil menm chak jou t'ap chache l'. Men, Bondye pa janm lage David nan men Sayil.
15 Atousa David te pè toujou paske li te konnen Sayil te soti pou touye l'. David te bò lavil Oreya, nan dezè Zif la.
16 Jonatan, pitit Sayil la, al jwenn li la, li t'ap ba l' kouraj. Li t'ap di l' ki jan Bondye ap toujou la avèk li.
17 Li t'ap di l' konsa: -David monchè, ou pa bezwen pè! Sayil, papa m', p'ap janm ka jwenn ou. Se ou menm ki gen pou wa pèp Izrayèl la. Mwen menm, m'ap vin apre ou. Ata Sayil, papa m', konn sa tou!
18 De mesye yo koupe yon kontra pou yo toujou zanmi devan Seyè a. David rete lavil Oreya, Jonatan ale ale l' lakay li.
19 ¶ Kèk moun nan zòn Zif la moute al jwenn Sayil lavil Gibeya, y' al di l': -Men David kache nan peyi nou an, nan falèz ki bò lavil Oreya, sou mòn Akiya ki nan bò sid dezè Jida a.
20 Nenpòt kilè ou fè lide desann lakay nou, ou mèt desann, n'a mete men sou li pou nou ba ou li.
21 Sayil reponn yo: -Se pou Seyè a beni nou pou sa n'ap fè pou mwen la a.
22 Ale non. Ale wè si se vre. Se pou nou chache konnen byen kote li fè, ki moun ki wè l' la. Paske yo di m' li malen anpil.
23 Chache konnen tout kote li kab kache. Epi lè n'a sèten tout bon, n'a tounen vin jwenn mwen. Lè sa a, m'a desann avèk nou. Si li la toujou nan peyi a, m' aval chache l', menm si m' dwe fouye nan tout rakwen peyi Jida a.
24 Se konsa moun Zif yo leve, yo pran devan wa a, yo pati pou peyi yo. David menm ansanm ak moun li yo te nan dezè Maon an, nan fon ki nan pòsyon sid dezè a.
25 Sayil ak moun pa l' yo mete chache David. Men David vin konn sa. Li desann nan Pas Galèt la, ki nan dezè Maon an. Epi li rete la. Lè Sayil vin konn sa, li desann dèyè David nan dezè Maon an.
26 Sayil ak mesye l' yo t'ap mache sou yon bò ravin lan sou flan mòn lan. David menm ak mesye pa l' yo t'ap mache sou lòt bò a, sou flan mòn anfas la tou. Li t'ap kouri pou l' te ka mete bèl distans ant li ak Sayil ki t'ap pwoche dèyè l'. Sayil te prèt pou mete men sou li.
27 Lè sa a, yon mesaje vin jwenn Sayil, li di l' konsa: -Tounen touswit, paske men moun Filisti yo ap anvayi peyi a.
28 Sayil sispann kouri dèyè David, l' al mache kontre moun Filisti yo. Se poutèt sa yo rele ravin sa a Galèt Separasyon.

23 Es wurde aber dem David angezeigt: Siehe, die Philister streiten wider Kehila und plündern die Tennen! 2 Da fragte David den Herrn und sprach: Soll ich hingehen und diese Philister schlagen?
Und der Herr sprach zu David: Geh hin, du wirst die Philister schlagen und Kehila erretten! 3 Aber die Männer Davids sprachen zu ihm: Siehe, wir fürchten uns schon hier in Juda, und nun sollen wir gar nach Kehila gegen das Heer der Philister ziehen? 4 Da fragte David den Herrn wieder. Und der Herr antwortete ihm und sprach: Wohlauf, ziehe hinab gen Kehila; denn ich will die Philister in deine Hand geben! 5 Also zog David samt seinen Männern gen Kehila und stritt wider die Philister und trieb ihr Vieh hinweg und fügte ihnen eine große Niederlage zu. Also errettete David die Einwohner von Kehila.
6 Als aber Abjatar, der Sohn Achimelechs, zu David gen Kehila floh, trug er das Ephod mit sich hinab.
Saul verfolgt David
7 Da ward Saul gesagt, daß David gen Kehila gekommen sei; und Saul sprach: Gott hat ihn in meine Hand übergeben; denn er hat sich selbst eingeschlossen, indem er in eine Stadt mit Toren und Riegeln gegangen ist. 8 Und Saul ließ alles Volk zum Krieg zusammenrufen und gen Kehila hinabziehen, um David und seine Männer zu belagern.
9 Weil aber David wußte, daß Saul Böses gegen ihn plante, sprach er zu dem Priester Abjatar: Bring das Ephod her! 10 Und David sprach: O Herr, Gott Israels, dein Knecht hat als gewiß gehört, daß Saul darnach trachtet, nach Kehila zu kommen und die Stadt um meinetwillen zu verderben. 11 Werden die Bürger von Kehila mich in seine Hand überantworten? Und wird Saul herabkommen, wie dein Knecht gehört hat? Das tue doch, o Herr, Gott Israels, deinem Knechte kund. Da sprach der Herr: Er wird herabkommen! 12 David sprach: Werden die Bürger von Kehila mich und meine Männer in Sauls Hand überantworten? Der Herr sprach: Sie werden dich überantworten!
David flieht in die Wüsten von Siph und Maon
13 Da machte sich David auf, samt seinen Männern, deren etwa sechshundert waren; und sie zogen aus von Kehila und gingen, wohin sie gehen konnten. Als nun Saul angesagt wurde, daß David von Kehila entronnen sei, da stand er ab von seinem Zuge. 14 David aber blieb in der Wüste auf den Höhen und hielt sich auf dem Gebirge auf, in der Wüste Siph. Und Saul suchte ihn sein Leben lang. Aber Gott gab ihn nicht in seine Hand.
15 Als nun David erfuhr, daß Saul ausgezogen sei, ihm nach dem Leben zu trachten, befand er sich in der Wüste Siph, in einem Walde. 16 Da machte sich Jonatan, Sauls Sohn, auf und ging hin zu David in den Wald und stärkte dessen Hand in Gott 17 und sprach zu ihm: Fürchte dich nicht; denn die Hand meines Vaters Saul wird dich nicht finden, sondern du wirst König werden über Israel, und ich will der Nächste nach dir sein. Auch weiß solches mein Vater Saul wohl. 18 Und sie machten beide einen Bund miteinander vor dem Herrn. Und David blieb in dem Walde; Jonatan aber ging wieder heim.
19 Und die Siphiter zogen hinauf zu Saul gen Gibea und sprachen: Ist nicht David bei uns verborgen auf den Hügeln im Walde, auf dem Hügel Hachila, der zur Rechten der Wüste liegt? 20 So komme nun der König herab, wenn sein Herz darnach gelüstet, so wollen wir ihn in des Königs Hand überantworten.
21 Da sprach Saul: Gesegnet seid ihr von dem Herrn, daß ihr euch meiner erbarmt habt! 22 So geht nun hin und vergewissert euch noch mehr, erkundet und seht, an welchem Ort er sich aufhält und wer ihn daselbst gesehen hat; denn es ist mir gesagt worden, daß er sehr listig sei. 23 Besehet und erkundiget auch alle Verstecke, wo er sich verkriecht, und kommt wieder zu mir, wenn ihr seiner gewiß seid, so will ich mit euch ziehen. Ist er im Lande, so will ich ihn ausfindig machen unter allen Tausenden Judas!
24 Da machten sie sich auf und gingen vor Saul hin gen Siph. David aber und seine Männer waren in der Wüste Maon, in der Ebene, südlich von der Wüste. 25 Da nun Saul mit seinen Männern hinzog, ihn zu suchen, wurde es David angezeigt, und er machte sich zu dem Felsen hinab und verblieb in der Wüste Maon. Als Saul solches hörte, jagte er David nach in die Wüste Maon.
26 Und Saul ging auf einer Seite des Berges, David aber mit seinen Männern auf der andern Seite des Berges. Als aber David eilte, Saul zu entrinnen, umringte Saul samt seinen Männern den David und seine Männer, um sie zu fangen. 27 Aber ein Bote kam zu Saul und sprach: Eile und komm, denn die Philister sind in das Land eingefallen! 28 Da ließ Saul von der Verfolgung Davids ab und zog den Philistern entgegen. Daher heißt man jenen Ort Sela-Hammachlekot[a].

David Saves Keilah
23 When David was told, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah(A) and are looting the threshing floors,”(B) 2 he inquired(C) of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?”
The Lord answered him, “Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah.”
3 But David’s men said to him, “Here in Judah we are afraid. How much more, then, if we go to Keilah against the Philistine forces!”
4 Once again David inquired(D) of the Lord, and the Lord answered him, “Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines(E) into your hand.(F)” 5 So David and his men went to Keilah, fought the Philistines and carried off their livestock. He inflicted heavy losses on the Philistines and saved the people of Keilah. 6 (Now Abiathar(G) son of Ahimelek had brought the ephod(H) down with him when he fled to David at Keilah.)
Saul Pursues David
7 Saul was told that David had gone to Keilah, and he said, “God has delivered him into my hands,(I) for David has imprisoned himself by entering a town with gates and bars.”(J) 8 And Saul called up all his forces for battle, to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.
9 When David learned that Saul was plotting against him, he said to Abiathar(K) the priest, “Bring the ephod.(L)” 10 David said, “Lord, God of Israel, your servant has heard definitely that Saul plans to come to Keilah and destroy the town on account of me. 11 Will the citizens of Keilah surrender me to him? Will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? Lord, God of Israel, tell your servant.”
And the Lord said, “He will.”
12 Again David asked, “Will the citizens of Keilah surrender(M) me and my men to Saul?”
And the Lord said, “They will.”
13 So David and his men,(N) about six hundred in number, left Keilah and kept moving from place to place. When Saul was told that David had escaped from Keilah, he did not go there.
14 David stayed in the wilderness(O) strongholds and in the hills of the Desert of Ziph.(P) Day after day Saul searched(Q) for him, but God did not(R) give David into his hands.
15 While David was at Horesh in the Desert of Ziph, he learned that[a] Saul had come out to take his life.(S) 16 And Saul’s son Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find strength(T) in God. 17 “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “My father Saul will not lay a hand on you. You will be king(U) over Israel, and I will be second to you. Even my father Saul knows this.” 18 The two of them made a covenant(V) before the Lord. Then Jonathan went home, but David remained at Horesh.
19 The Ziphites(W) went up to Saul at Gibeah and said, “Is not David hiding among us(X) in the strongholds at Horesh, on the hill of Hakilah,(Y) south of Jeshimon? 20 Now, Your Majesty, come down whenever it pleases you to do so, and we will be responsible for giving(Z) him into your hands.”
21 Saul replied, “The Lord bless(AA) you for your concern(AB) for me. 22 Go and get more information. Find out where David usually goes and who has seen him there. They tell me he is very crafty. 23 Find out about all the hiding places he uses and come back to me with definite information. Then I will go with you; if he is in the area, I will track(AC) him down among all the clans of Judah.”
24 So they set out and went to Ziph ahead of Saul. Now David and his men were in the Desert of Maon,(AD) in the Arabah south of Jeshimon.(AE) 25 Saul and his men began the search, and when David was told about it, he went down to the rock and stayed in the Desert of Maon. When Saul heard this, he went into the Desert of Maon in pursuit of David.
26 Saul(AF) was going along one side of the mountain, and David and his men were on the other side, hurrying to get away from Saul. As Saul and his forces were closing in on David and his men to capture them, 27 a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Come quickly! The Philistines are raiding the land.” 28 Then Saul broke off his pursuit of David and went to meet the Philistines. That is why they call this place Sela Hammahlekoth.[b] 29 And David went up from there and lived in the strongholds(AG) of En Gedi.[c](AH)

19 Und die Siphiter zogen hinauf zu Saul gen Gibea und sprachen: Ist nicht David bei uns verborgen auf den Hügeln im Walde, auf dem Hügel Hachila, der zur Rechten der Wüste liegt? 20 So komme nun der König herab, wenn sein Herz darnach gelüstet, so wollen wir ihn in des Königs Hand überantworten.
21 Da sprach Saul: Gesegnet seid ihr von dem Herrn, daß ihr euch meiner erbarmt habt! 22 So geht nun hin und vergewissert euch noch mehr, erkundet und seht, an welchem Ort er sich aufhält und wer ihn daselbst gesehen hat; denn es ist mir gesagt worden, daß er sehr listig sei. 23 Besehet und erkundiget auch alle Verstecke, wo er sich verkriecht, und kommt wieder zu mir, wenn ihr seiner gewiß seid, so will ich mit euch ziehen. Ist er im Lande, so will ich ihn ausfindig machen unter allen Tausenden Judas!
24 Da machten sie sich auf und gingen vor Saul hin gen Siph. David aber und seine Männer waren in der Wüste Maon, in der Ebene, südlich von der Wüste. 25 Da nun Saul mit seinen Männern hinzog, ihn zu suchen, wurde es David angezeigt, und er machte sich zu dem Felsen hinab und verblieb in der Wüste Maon. Als Saul solches hörte, jagte er David nach in die Wüste Maon.
26 Und Saul ging auf einer Seite des Berges, David aber mit seinen Männern auf der andern Seite des Berges. Als aber David eilte, Saul zu entrinnen, umringte Saul samt seinen Männern den David und seine Männer, um sie zu fangen. 27 Aber ein Bote kam zu Saul und sprach: Eile und komm, denn die Philister sind in das Land eingefallen! 28 Da ließ Saul von der Verfolgung Davids ab und zog den Philistern entgegen. Daher heißt man jenen Ort Sela-Hammachlekot[a].

David Saves Keilah
23 When David was told, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah(A) and are looting the threshing floors,”(B) 2 he inquired(C) of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?”
The Lord answered him, “Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah.”
3 But David’s men said to him, “Here in Judah we are afraid. How much more, then, if we go to Keilah against the Philistine forces!”
4 Once again David inquired(D) of the Lord, and the Lord answered him, “Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines(E) into your hand.(F)” 5 So David and his men went to Keilah, fought the Philistines and carried off their livestock. He inflicted heavy losses on the Philistines and saved the people of Keilah. 6 (Now Abiathar(G) son of Ahimelek had brought the ephod(H) down with him when he fled to David at Keilah.)
Saul Pursues David
7 Saul was told that David had gone to Keilah, and he said, “God has delivered him into my hands,(I) for David has imprisoned himself by entering a town with gates and bars.”(J) 8 And Saul called up all his forces for battle, to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.
9 When David learned that Saul was plotting against him, he said to Abiathar(K) the priest, “Bring the ephod.(L)” 10 David said, “Lord, God of Israel, your servant has heard definitely that Saul plans to come to Keilah and destroy the town on account of me. 11 Will the citizens of Keilah surrender me to him? Will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? Lord, God of Israel, tell your servant.”
And the Lord said, “He will.”
12 Again David asked, “Will the citizens of Keilah surrender(M) me and my men to Saul?”
And the Lord said, “They will.”
13 So David and his men,(N) about six hundred in number, left Keilah and kept moving from place to place. When Saul was told that David had escaped from Keilah, he did not go there.
14 David stayed in the wilderness(O) strongholds and in the hills of the Desert of Ziph.(P) Day after day Saul searched(Q) for him, but God did not(R) give David into his hands.
15 While David was at Horesh in the Desert of Ziph, he learned that[a] Saul had come out to take his life.(S) 16 And Saul’s son Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find strength(T) in God. 17 “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “My father Saul will not lay a hand on you. You will be king(U) over Israel, and I will be second to you. Even my father Saul knows this.” 18 The two of them made a covenant(V) before the Lord. Then Jonathan went home, but David remained at Horesh.
19 The Ziphites(W) went up to Saul at Gibeah and said, “Is not David hiding among us(X) in the strongholds at Horesh, on the hill of Hakilah,(Y) south of Jeshimon? 20 Now, Your Majesty, come down whenever it pleases you to do so, and we will be responsible for giving(Z) him into your hands.”
21 Saul replied, “The Lord bless(AA) you for your concern(AB) for me. 22 Go and get more information. Find out where David usually goes and who has seen him there. They tell me he is very crafty. 23 Find out about all the hiding places he uses and come back to me with definite information. Then I will go with you; if he is in the area, I will track(AC) him down among all the clans of Judah.”
24 So they set out and went to Ziph ahead of Saul. Now David and his men were in the Desert of Maon,(AD) in the Arabah south of Jeshimon.(AE) 25 Saul and his men began the search, and when David was told about it, he went down to the rock and stayed in the Desert of Maon. When Saul heard this, he went into the Desert of Maon in pursuit of David.
26 Saul(AF) was going along one side of the mountain, and David and his men were on the other side, hurrying to get away from Saul. As Saul and his forces were closing in on David and his men to capture them, 27 a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Come quickly! The Philistines are raiding the land.” 28 Then Saul broke off his pursuit of David and went to meet the Philistines. That is why they call this place Sela Hammahlekoth.[b] 29 And David went up from there and lived in the strongholds(AG) of En Gedi.[c](AH)
