14 Vagnen rullade in på en åker tillhörig en man som hette Josua, och den stannade vid en stor sten. Folket bröt sönder virket i vagnen, gjorde upp eld och slaktade korna och offrade dem till Herren som ett brännoffer.
15 Män ur Levi stam hjälptes åt att lyfta ner arken och skrinet med guldföremålen från vagnen och placerade dem på stenen. Det blev många brännoffer och andra offer till Herren från Bet-Semes den dagen.
16 Filisteernas fem styresmän såg allt detta och återvände till Ekron samma dag.

14 The cart came to the field of Joshua of Beth Shemesh, and there it stopped beside a large rock. The people chopped up the wood of the cart and sacrificed the cows as a burnt offering(A) to the Lord. 15 The Levites(B) took down the ark of the Lord, together with the chest containing the gold objects, and placed them on the large rock.(C) On that day the people of Beth Shemesh(D) offered burnt offerings and made sacrifices to the Lord. 16 The five rulers of the Philistines saw all this and then returned that same day to Ekron.
