Ziclague é saqueada pelos amalequitas
30 Sucedeu, pois, que, chegando Davi e os seus homens ao terceiro dia a Ziclague, já os amalequitas com ímpeto tinham dado sobre o Sul e sobre Ziclague, e tinham ferido a Ziclague, e a tinham posto a fogo. 2 E levaram cativas as mulheres que estavam nela, porém a ninguém mataram, nem pequenos nem grandes; tão somente os levaram consigo e foram pelo seu caminho. 3 E Davi e os seus homens vieram à cidade, e eis que estava queimada a fogo, e suas mulheres, seus filhos e suas filhas eram levados cativos. 4 Então, Davi e o povo que se achava com ele alçaram a sua voz e choraram, até que neles não houve mais força para chorar. 5 Também as duas mulheres de Davi foram levadas cativas; Ainoã, a jezreelita, e Abigail, a mulher de Nabal, o carmelita. 6 E Davi muito se angustiou, porque o povo falava de apedrejá-lo, porque o ânimo de todo o povo estava em amargura, cada um por causa dos seus filhos e das suas filhas; todavia, Davi se esforçou no Senhor, seu Deus.
Davi persegue os amalequitas e livra os cativos
7 E disse Davi a Abiatar, o sacerdote, filho de Aimeleque: Traze-me, peço-te, aqui o éfode. E Abiatar trouxe o éfode a Davi. 8 Então, consultou Davi ao Senhor, dizendo: Perseguirei eu a esta tropa? Alcançá-la-ei? E o Senhor lhe disse: Persegue-a, porque, decerto, a alcançarás e tudo libertarás. 9 Partiu, pois, Davi, ele e os seiscentos homens que com ele se achavam, e chegaram ao ribeiro de Besor, onde os que ficaram atrás pararam. 10 E seguiu-os Davi, ele e os quatrocentos homens, pois que duzentos homens ficaram atrás, por não poderem, de cansados que estavam, passar o ribeiro de Besor.
11 E acharam no campo um homem egípcio e o trouxeram a Davi; deram-lhe pão, e comeu, e deram-lhe a beber água. 12 Deram-lhe também um pedaço de massa de figos secos e dois cachos de passas, e comeu; e voltou-lhe o seu espírito, porque havia três dias e três noites que não tinha comido pão nem bebido água. 13 Então, Davi lhe disse: De quem és tu e de onde és? E disse o moço egípcio: Sou servo de um homem amalequita, e meu senhor me deixou, porque adoeci há três dias. 14 Nós demos com ímpeto para a banda do sul dos queretitas, e para a banda de Judá, e para a banda do sul de Calebe e pusemos fogo a Ziclague. 15 E disse-lhe Davi: Poderias, descendo, guiar-me a essa tropa? E disse-lhe: Por Deus, me jura que me não matarás, nem me entregarás na mão de meu senhor, e, descendo, te guiarei a essa tropa. 16 E, descendo, o guiou. E eis que estavam espalhados sobre a face de toda a terra, comendo, e bebendo, e dançando, por todo aquele grande despojo que tomaram da terra dos filisteus e da terra de Judá. 17 E feriu-os Davi, desde o crepúsculo até à tarde do dia seguinte, e nenhum deles escapou, senão só quatrocentos jovens que, montados sobre camelos, fugiram. 18 Assim, livrou Davi tudo quanto tomaram os amalequitas; também as suas duas mulheres livrou Davi. 19 E ninguém lhes faltou, desde o menor até ao maior e até os filhos e as filhas; e também desde o despojo até tudo quanto lhes tinham tomado: tudo Davi tornou a trazer. 20 Também tomou Davi todas as ovelhas e vacas, e levavam-nas diante do outro gado e diziam: Este é o despojo de Davi.
21 E, chegando Davi aos duzentos homens que, de cansados que estavam, não puderam seguir a Davi e que deixaram ficar no ribeiro de Besor, estes saíram ao encontro de Davi e do povo que com ele vinha; e, chegando-se Davi ao povo, os saudou em paz.
Davi estabelece a lei da divisão da presa
22 Então, todos os maus e filhos de Belial, dentre os homens que tinham ido com Davi, responderam e disseram: Visto que não foram conosco, não lhes daremos do despojo que libertamos; mas que leve cada um sua mulher e seus filhos e se vá. 23 Porém Davi disse: Não fareis assim, irmãos meus, com o que nos deu o Senhor, que nos guardou e entregou a tropa que contra nós vinha nas nossas mãos. 24 E quem em tal vos daria ouvidos? Porque qual é a parte dos que desceram à peleja, tal também será a parte dos que ficaram com a bagagem; igualmente repartirão. 25 O que assim foi desde aquele dia em diante, porquanto o pôs por estatuto e direito em Israel, até ao dia de hoje.
26 E, chegando Davi a Ziclague, enviou do despojo aos anciãos de Judá, seus amigos, dizendo: Eis aí para vós uma bênção do despojo dos inimigos do Senhor: 27 aos de Betel, e aos de Ramote do Sul, e aos de Jatir, 28 e aos de Aroer, e aos de Sifmote, e aos de Estemoa, 29 e aos de Racal, e aos que estavam nas cidades jerameelitas e nas cidades dos queneus, 30 e aos de Horma, e aos de Borasã, e aos de Atace, 31 e aos de Hebrom, e a todos os lugares em que andara Davi, ele e os seus homens.

Waxba kama ay layn, laakiinse way la tageen oo iska baxeen. 3 Oo Daa'uud iyo raggiisiina markay magaaladii yimaadeen, waxay arkeen iyadoo la gubay, oo naagahoodii iyo wiilashoodii iyo gabdhahoodiiba loola wada tegey maxaabiis ahaan. 4 Markaasaa Daa'uud iyo dadkii la jirayba codkoodii kor u qaadeen oo ooyeen, ilaa ay waayeen itaal ay ku sii ooyaan. 5 Oo Daa'uud labadiisii naagood ee ahaa Axiinocam tii reer Yesreceel, iyo Abiigayil oo ahayd reer Karmel oo Naabaalna u dhaxdayba, waa lala tegey iyagoo maxaabiis ah. 6 Oo Daa'uudna aad buu u dhibtooday, waayo, dadku waxay ku wada hadleen inay dhagxiyaan, maxaa yeelay, dadkii wuxuu u wada calool xumaaday nin waluba wiilashiisii iyo gabdhihiisii, laakiinse Daa'uud wuxuu isku sii dhiirriyey Rabbiga Ilaahiisa ah.
7 Markaasaa Daa'uud wuxuu wadaadkii ahaa Aabyaataar ina Axiimeleg ku yidhi, Waan ku baryayaaye eefodka halkan iigu keen. Aabyaataarna eefodkii buu Daa'uud u keenay. 8 Markaasaa Daa'uud Rabbiga wax weyddiiyey, oo wuxuu yidhi, Miyaan eryadaa colkan, oo miyaan gaadhayaa? Oo Rabbiguna wuxuu ugu jawaabay, Haah, eryo, waayo, hubaal waad gaadhaysaa, oo intii lala tegey oo dhan waad soo celinaysaa. 9 Sidaas daraaddeed Daa'uud wuu tegey, isagii iyo lixdii boqol oo nin ee la jirtayba, oo waxay yimaadeen durdurkii Besoor, oo intii laga tegeyna halkaasay ku hadheen. 10 Laakiinse Daa'uud wuu eryaday, isagoo afar boqol oo nin wata; waayo, laba boqol ayaa dib u hadhay, kuwaasoo aad u daalay oo dhaafi kari waayay durdurkii Besoor. 11 Oo mid Masri ah ayay duurka ka heleen, oo waxay u keeneen Daa'uud, oo kibisna way siiyeen, wuuna cunay, oo biyo uu cabbona way siiyeen. 12 Oo waxay kaloo siiyeen fud yar oo berde ah, iyo laba rucubood oo sabiib ah; oo markuu cunay ayaa naftii ku soo noqotay, waayo, saddex maalmood iyo saddex habeen kibisna ma uu cunin, biyona ma uu cabbin. 13 Markaasaa Daa'uud wuxuu ku yidhi, War yaa ku leh? Oo xaggee baad ka timid? Isna wuxuu yidhi, Waxaan ahay nin dhallinyar oo Masri ah, oo addoon baan u ahay mid reer Camaaleq ah. Sayidkaygii baa iga tegey, maxaa yeelay, saddex maalmood ka hor ayaan bukooday. 14 Oo waxaannu soo dhacnay reer Kereetiim xaggooda Koonfureed, iyo dalka ay leeyihiin reer Yahuudah, iyo xagga Koonfureed oo reer Kaaleeb; oo Siiqlagna waan gubnay. 15 Markaasaa Daa'uud wuxuu ku yidhi, Colkaas ma ii geeynaysaa? Isna wuxuu yidhi, Ilaah iigu dhaaro inaadan i dilayn, sayidkaygiina ii gacangelinayn, oo anna colkaas waan kuu geeynayaa. 16 Oo markuu keenay waxay ku kala firidhsanaayeen dhulka oo dhan, iyagoo wax cabbaya, oo wax cunaya, oo cayaaraya, maxaa yeelay, maal badan bay ka soo dhaceen dalkii reer Falastiin iyo dalkii Yahuudahba. 17 Oo Daa'uudna wuxuu laynayay iyagii fiidkii ilaa fiidkiisii kale, oo nin iyagii ahuna ma baxsan, afar boqol oo dhallinyaro ah oo intay awr fuuleen ku carartay mooyaane. 18 Oo Daa'uudna wuu soo wada dhiciyey waxay reer Camaaleq la tageen oo dhan; oo labadiisii naagoodna Daa'uud waa soo badbaadiyey. 19 Oo waxba kama maqnayn iyagii, wax yar iyo wax weyn toona, ama wiilal iyo gabdho toona, ama booli iyo wixii ay la tageen oo dhan toona; oo Daa'uudna wuu soo wada celiyey kulligood. 20 Markaasaa Daa'uud kaxaystay idihii iyo lo'dii oo dhan, oo waxay ku hor kexeeyeen xoolihii kale, oo yidhaahdeen, Intanu waa boolidii Daa'uud. 21 Oo Daa'uudna wuxuu u yimid labadii boqol oo nin oo intay daaleen Daa'uud raaci kari weyday, oo ay durdurkii Besoor agtiisa kaga tageen, oo iyana waxay u soo baxeen inay ka hor tagaan Daa'uud iyo dadkii la jiray; oo Daa'uudna markuu dadkii u soo dhowaaday ayuu nabdaadiyey. 22 Markaasay raggii sharka lahaa ee waxmatarayaasha ahaa oo Daa'uud raacay oo dhammuba waxay ugu jawaabeen, Maalkii aannu soo dhacsannay iyaga waxba ka siin mayno, maxaa yeelay, nama ay raacin, laakiinse nin kasta waxaannu siinaynaa naagtiisii iyo carruurtiisii, ee ha kaxaysteen oo ha iska tageen. 23 Markaasaa Daa'uud wuxuu yidhi, Walaalahayow, waa inaydnaan saas ku samayn wixii Rabbigu ina siiyey, kaasoo ah kii ina badbaadiyey, oo weliba inoo soo gacangeliyey colkii ina soo weeraray. 24 Haddaba bal yaa waxaa idinka maqlaya? Ka dagaalka u baxaa siduu qayb u helo ayuu ka alaabta ku hadhaana qayb u helayaa; isku si waa inay u qaybsadaan. 25 Maalintaas intay ka bilaabanto ilaa maantadan la joogo, wuxuu taas uga dhigay reer binu Israa'iil, qaynuun iyo amar.

David Destroys the Amalekites
30 David and his men reached Ziklag(A) on the third day. Now the Amalekites(B) had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and burned(C) it, 2 and had taken captive the women and everyone else in it, both young and old. They killed none of them, but carried them off as they went on their way.
3 When David and his men reached Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive.(D) 4 So David and his men wept(E) aloud until they had no strength left to weep. 5 David’s two wives(F) had been captured—Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. 6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning(G) him; each one was bitter(H) in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength(I) in the Lord his God.
7 Then David said to Abiathar(J) the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Bring me the ephod.(K)” Abiathar brought it to him, 8 and David inquired(L) of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?”
“Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed(M) in the rescue.(N)”
9 David and the six hundred men(O) with him came to the Besor Valley, where some stayed behind. 10 Two hundred of them were too exhausted(P) to cross the valley, but David and the other four hundred continued the pursuit.
11 They found an Egyptian in a field and brought him to David. They gave him water to drink and food to eat— 12 part of a cake of pressed figs and two cakes of raisins. He ate and was revived,(Q) for he had not eaten any food or drunk any water for three days and three nights.
13 David asked him, “Who do you belong to? Where do you come from?”
He said, “I am an Egyptian, the slave of an Amalekite.(R) My master abandoned me when I became ill three days ago. 14 We raided the Negev of the Kerethites,(S) some territory belonging to Judah and the Negev of Caleb.(T) And we burned(U) Ziklag.”
15 David asked him, “Can you lead me down to this raiding party?”
He answered, “Swear to me before God that you will not kill me or hand me over to my master,(V) and I will take you down to them.”
16 He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling(W) because of the great amount of plunder(X) they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah. 17 David fought(Y) them from dusk until the evening of the next day, and none of them got away, except four hundred young men who rode off on camels and fled.(Z) 18 David recovered(AA) everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives. 19 Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. David brought everything back. 20 He took all the flocks and herds, and his men drove them ahead of the other livestock, saying, “This is David’s plunder.”
21 Then David came to the two hundred men who had been too exhausted(AB) to follow him and who were left behind at the Besor Valley. They came out to meet David and the men with him. As David and his men approached, he asked them how they were. 22 But all the evil men and troublemakers among David’s followers said, “Because they did not go out with us, we will not share with them the plunder we recovered. However, each man may take his wife and children and go.”
23 David replied, “No, my brothers, you must not do that with what the Lord has given us. He has protected us and delivered into our hands the raiding party that came against us. 24 Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.(AC)” 25 David made this a statute and ordinance for Israel from that day to this.
26 When David reached Ziklag, he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah, who were his friends, saying, “Here is a gift(AD) for you from the plunder of the Lord’s enemies.”
27 David sent it to those who were in Bethel,(AE) Ramoth(AF) Negev and Jattir;(AG) 28 to those in Aroer,(AH) Siphmoth,(AI) Eshtemoa(AJ) 29 and Rakal; to those in the towns of the Jerahmeelites(AK) and the Kenites;(AL) 30 to those in Hormah,(AM) Bor Ashan,(AN) Athak 31 and Hebron;(AO) and to those in all the other places where he and his men had roamed.
