21 For Israel and the Philistines had put themselves in array, army against army.
22 And David left the things which he bare, under the hands of the keeper of the [a]carriage, and ran into the host, and came, and asked his brethren [b]how they did.
23 And as he talked with them, behold, the man that was between the two armies, came up, (whose name was Goliath the Philistine of Gath) out of the [c]army of the Philistines, and spake [d]such words, and David heard them.
