13 撒母耳到了扫罗那里后,扫罗说:“愿耶和华赐福给你,我已经遵守了耶和华的命令。” 14 撒母耳说:“那么,我现在听见的牛羊叫声是从哪里来的?” 15 扫罗答道:“这是众人从亚玛力人那里带回来的,他们留下了这些上好的牛羊要献给你的上帝耶和华,我们毁灭了其余的一切。” 16 撒母耳对扫罗说:“住口!让我告诉你耶和华昨天晚上对我说的话。”扫罗答道:“请说。”
17 撒母耳说:“虽然你从前觉得自己微不足道,但现在却做了以色列各支派的首领。耶和华膏立你做以色列的王。

1 Samuel 15:13-17
New International Version
13 When Samuel reached him, Saul said, “The Lord bless you! I have carried out the Lord’s instructions.”
14 But Samuel said, “What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears? What is this lowing of cattle that I hear?”
15 Saul answered, “The soldiers brought them from the Amalekites; they spared the best of the sheep and cattle to sacrifice to the Lord your God, but we totally destroyed the rest.”
16 “Enough!” Samuel said to Saul. “Let me tell you what the Lord said to me last night.”
“Tell me,” Saul replied.
17 Samuel said, “Although you were once small(A) in your own eyes, did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The Lord anointed you king over Israel.
