11 Kinabukasan, hinati ni Saul sa tatlong pangkat ang kanyang mga mandirigma. Nang mag-uumaga na, pinasok nila ang kampo ng mga Ammonita at pinagpapatay nila ang mga ito bago tumanghali. Ang mga natirang buháy ay nagkanya-kanya ng pagtakas.
12 Pagkatapos nito, itinanong ng mga tao kay Samuel, “Nasaan ang mga nagsasabing hindi si Saul ang dapat maghari sa amin? Dalhin ninyo sila rito at papatayin namin!”
13 Ngunit sinabi ni Saul, “Huwag! Isa man sa ati'y walang mamamatay sapagkat sa araw na ito'y iniligtas ni Yahweh ang buong Israel.”

11 And it was so on the morrow, that Saul put the people in three companies; and they came into the midst of the host in the morning watch, and slew the Ammonites until the heat of the day: and it came to pass, that they which remained were scattered, so that two of them were not left together.
12 And the people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.
13 And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for to day the Lord hath wrought salvation in Israel.

12 Then the people said to Samuel, (C)“Who is he who said, ‘Shall Saul reign over us?’ (D)Bring the men, that we may put them to death.”
13 But Saul said, (E)“Not a man shall be put to death this day, for today (F)the Lord has accomplished salvation in Israel.”

11 The next day Saul separated his men into three divisions;(A) during the last watch of the night they broke into the camp of the Ammonites(B) and slaughtered them until the heat of the day. Those who survived were scattered, so that no two of them were left together.

12 The people then said to Samuel, “Who(C) was it that asked, ‘Shall Saul reign over us?’ Turn these men over to us so that we may put them to death.”
13 But Saul said, “No one will be put to death today,(D) for this day the Lord has rescued(E) Israel.”
