2 Questi furono i figli d'Israele: Ruben, Simeone, Levi, Giuda, Issacar, Zabulon,
2 Dan, Giuseppe, Beniamino, Nefta-li, Gad, e Ascer.
3 I figli di Giuda furono Er, Onan e Scelah, questi tre gli nacquero dalla figlia di Shua, la Cananea. Er, primogenito di Giuda, era malvagio agli occhi dell'Eterno, che perciò lo fece morire.
4 Tamar, sua nuora, gli partorí Perets e Zerah. Totale dei figli di Giuda: cinque.
5 I figli di Perets furono Hetsron e Hamul
6 I figli di Zerah furono Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Kalkol e Dara; in tutto: cinque.
7 Il figlio di Karmi fu Akan che mise in pericolo Israele, commettendo una trasgressione circa le cose votate allo sterminio.
8 Il figlio di Ethan fu Arariah.
9 I figli che nacquero a Hetsron furono Jerahmeel, Ram e Kelubai.
10 Ram generò Amminadab; Amminadab generò Nahshon, principe dei figli di Giuda,
11 Nahshon generò Salma; Salma generò Boaz. Boaz generò Obed.
12 Obed generò Isai.
13 Isai generò Eliab, suo primogenito. Abinadab il secondo, Scimeah il terzo.
14 Nethaneel il quarto, Raddai il quinto.
15 Otsem il sesto e Davide, il settimo.
16 Le loro sorelle furono Tseruiah e Abigail. I figli di Tseruiah furono Abishai, Joab e Asahel: tre.
17 Abigail partorí Amasa, il cui padre fu Jether, l'Ismaelita.
18 Caleb, figlio di Hetsron, ebbe figli da sua moglie Azubah e da Jerioth. Questi furono i figli di lei, Jescer, Shobab e Ardon.
19 Quando Azubah morí, Caleb sposò Efrath che gli partorí Hur.
20 Hur generò Uri, e Uri generò Betsa-leel.
21 Poi Hetsron entrò dalla figlia di Makir, padre di Galaad, che egli aveva sposato quando avevasessant'anni; ed essa gli partorí Segub.
22 Segub generò Jair, a cui appartennero ventitré città nel paese di Galaad.
23 (Gheshur e Aram presero loro i villaggi di Jair, Kenath e i villaggi satelliti sessanta città). Tutti questi appartenevano ai figli di Makir, padre di Galaad.
24 Dopo la morte di Hetsron a Caleb-Efrathah, Abiah, moglie di Hetsron, gli partorí Ashur padre di Tekoa,
25 I figli di Jerahmeel, primogenito di Hetsron, furono Ram, il primogenito, Bunah, Oren, Otsem e Ahijah.
26 Jerahmeel ebbe un'altra moglie, di nome Atarah, che fu madre di Onam.
27 I figli di Ram, primogenito di Jerahmeel, furono Maats, Jamin e Eker.
28 I figli di Onam furono Shammai e Jada. I figli di Shammai furono Nadab e Abishur.
29 La moglie di Abishur si chiamava Abihail e gli partorí Ahban e Molid.
30 I figli di Nadab furono Seled e Appaim. Seled morí senza figli.
31 Il figlio di Appaim fu Isci; il figlio di Isci fu Sceshan; il figlio di Sceshan fu Ahlai.
32 I figli di Jada, fratello di Shammai furono Jether e Gionathan. Jether morì senza figli.
33 I figli di Gionathan furono Peleth e Zaza. Questi furono i figli di Jerahmeel.
34 Sceshan non ebbe figli ma solo figlie. Ora Sceshan aveva uno schiavo egiziano chiamato Jarha.
35 Sceshan diede sua figlia in moglie a Jarha, suo schiavo, ed essa gli partorí Attai.
36 Attai generò Nathan; Nathan generò Zabad;
37 Zabad generò Eflal; Eflal generò Obed;
38 Obed generò Jehu; Jehu generò Azariah;
39 Azariah generò Helets; Helets generò Eleasah;
40 Eleasah generò Sismai; Sismai generò Shallum;
41 Shallum generò Jekamiah e Jekamiah generò Elishama.
42 I figli di Caleb, fratello di Jerahmeel furono Mesha, suo primogenito che fu padre di Zif, e i figli di Mareshah, il padre di Hebron.
43 I figli di Hebron furono Korah, Tappuah, Rekem e Scema.
44 Scema generò Raham, padre di Jorkeam, e Rekem generò Shammai.
45 Il figlio di Shammai fu Maon, e Maon fu il padre di Beth-Tsur.
46 Efah, concubina di Caleb, partorí Haran, Motsa e Gazez. Haran generò Gazez.
47 I figli di Jahdai furono Reghem, Jotham, Gheshan, Pelet, Efah e Shaaf.
48 Maakah, concubina di Caleb, partorí Sceber e Tirhanah.
49 Essa partorí anche Shaaf, padre di Madmannah, Sceva, padre di Makbena e padre di Ghibea. La figlia di Caleb era Aksah.
50 Questi furono i figli di Caleb: il figlio di Hur, primogenito di Efratah, Sho-bal, padre di Kirjath-Jearim,
51 Salma, padre di Betlemme, e Haref, padre di Beth-Gader.
52 Shobal, padre di Kirjath-Jearim, ebbe per figli: Haroeh e la metà di Menuhoth.
53 Le famiglie di Kirjath-Jearim furono gli Ithrei, i Puthei, gli Sumathei e i Misharaei; da costoro derivarono gli Tsorathiti e gli Eshtaoliti.
54 I figli di Salma furono Betlemme e i Netofathei, Atroth-Beth-Joab, la metà dei Menathei, gli Tsorei.
55 E le famiglie di scribi, che abitavano a Jabets erano i Tirathei, gli Scimeathei e i Sukathei. Questi erano i Kenei che discesero da Hamath, padre della casa di Rekab.

2 Iată fiii lui Israel: Ruben(A), Simeon, Levi, Iuda, Isahar, Zabulon, 2 Dan, Iosif, Beniamin, Neftali, Gad şi Aşer. 3 Fiii lui(B) Iuda: Er, Onan, Şela; aceştia trei i s-au născut din fata lui Şua(C), Canaanita. Er(D), întâiul născut al lui Iuda, era rău înaintea Domnului, care l-a omorât. 4 Tamar(E), nora lui Iuda, i-a născut pe Pereţ şi Zerah. Toţi fiii lui Iuda au fost cinci. 5 Fiii lui Pereţ(F): Heţron şi Hamul. 6 Fiii lui Zerah: Zimri, Etan(G), Heman, Calcol şi Dara. De toţi: cinci. 7 Fiii lui(H) Carmi au fost: Acar, care a tulburat pe Israel când a săvârşit o fărădelege cu privire la lucrurile care trebuiau nimicite(I) cu desăvârşire. 8 Fiul lui Etan: Azaria. 9 Fiii care s-au născut lui Heţron au fost Ierahmeel, Ram şi Chelubai (Caleb). 10 Ram a născut(J) pe Aminadab. Aminadab a născut pe Nahşon, domnul(K) fiilor lui Iuda. 11 Nahşon a născut pe Salma. Salma a născut pe Boaz. 12 Boaz a născut pe Obed. Obed a născut pe Isai. 13 Isai(L) a născut pe Eliab – întâiul lui născut; pe Abinadab – al doilea; pe Şimea – al treilea; 14 pe Netaneel – al patrulea; pe Radai – al cincilea; 15 pe Oţem – al şaselea; pe David – al şaptelea. 16 Surorile lor erau: Ţeruia şi Abigail. Fiii Ţeruiei(M) au fost: Abişai, Ioab şi Asael – trei. 17 Abigail(N) a născut pe Amasa; tatăl lui Amasa a fost Ieter, Ismaelitul.
Fiii lui Caleb
18 Caleb, fiul lui Heţron, a avut copii cu nevastă-sa Azuba şi cu Ieriot. Iată fiii pe care i-a avut cu Azuba: Ieşer, Şobab şi Ardon. 19 Azuba a murit, şi Caleb a luat pe Efrat(O), care i-a născut pe Hur. 20 Hur a născut pe Uri şi Uri a născut pe Beţaleel(P). 21 În urmă, Heţron a intrat la fiica lui Machir(Q), tatăl lui Galaad, şi avea şaizeci de ani când a luat-o; ea i-a născut pe Segub. 22 Segub a născut pe Iair, care a avut douăzeci şi trei de cetăţi în ţara Galaadului. 23 Gheşuriţii(R) şi sirienii le-au luat târgurile lui Iair, cu Chenatul şi cetăţile care ţineau de el: şaizeci de cetăţi. Toţi aceştia erau fiii lui Machir, tatăl lui Galaad. 24 După moartea lui Heţron la Caleb-Efrata, Abia, nevasta lui Heţron, i-a născut pe Aşhur, tatăl lui Tecoa(S). 25 Fiii lui Ierahmeel, întâiul născut al lui Heţron, au fost: Ram, întâiul născut, Buna, Oren şi Oţem, născuţi din Ahia. 26 Ierahmeel a avut o altă nevastă, numită Atara, care a fost mama lui Onam. 27 Fiii lui Ram, întâiul născut al lui Ierahmeel, au fost: Maaţ, Iamin şi Echer. 28 Fiii lui Onam au fost: Şamai şi Iada. Fiii lui Şamai: Nadab şi Abişur. 29 Numele nevestei lui Abişur era Abihail şi ea i-a născut pe Ahban şi Molid. 30 Fiii lui Nadab: Seled şi Apaim. Seled a murit fără fii. 31 Fiul lui Apaim: Işei. Fiul lui Işei: Şeşan. Fiul(T) lui Şeşan: Ahlai. 32 Fiii lui Iada, fratele lui Şamai: Ieter şi Ionatan. Ieter a murit fără fii. 33 Fiii lui Ionatan: Pelet şi Zaza. Aceştia sunt fiii lui Ierahmeel. 34 Şeşan n-a avut fii, dar a avut fete. Şeşan avea un rob egiptean numit Iarha. 35 Şi Şeşan a dat pe fiică-sa de nevastă robului său Iarha; ea i-a născut pe Atai. 36 Atai a născut pe Natan; Natan a născut pe(U) Zabad; 37 Zabad a născut pe Eflal; Eflal a născut pe Obed; 38 Obed a născut pe Iehu; Iehu a născut pe Azaria; 39 Azaria a născut pe Haleţ; Haleţ a născut pe Elasa. 40 Elasa a născut pe Sismai; Sismai a născut pe Şalum; 41 Şalum a născut pe Iecamia; Iecamia a născut pe Elişama. 42 Fiii lui Caleb, fratele lui Ierahmeel: Meşa, întâiul său născut, care a fost tatăl lui Zif, şi fiii lui Mareşa, tatăl lui Hebron. 43 Fiii lui Hebron: Core, Tapuah, Rechem şi Şema. 44 Şema a născut pe Raham, tatăl lui Iorcheam. Rechem a născut pe Şamai. 45 Fiul lui Şamai: Maon; şi Maon, tatăl lui Bet-Ţur. 46 Efa, ţiitoarea lui Caleb, a născut pe Haran, Moţa şi Gazez. Haran a născut pe Gazez. 47 Fiii lui Iahdai: Reghem, Iotam, Gheşan, Pelet, Efa şi Şaaf. 48 Maaca, ţiitoarea lui Caleb, a născut pe Şeber şi Tirhana. 49 Ea a mai născut pe Şaaf, tatăl lui Madmana, şi pe Şeva, tatăl lui Macbena şi tatăl lui Ghibea. Fata lui Caleb era Acsa(V). 50 Aceştia au fost fiii lui Caleb: Şobal, fiul lui Hur, întâiul născut al Efratei, şi tatăl lui Chiriat-Iearim; 51 Salma, tatăl lui Betleem; Haref, tatăl lui Bet-Gader. 52 Fiii lui Şobal, tatăl lui Chiriat-Iearim, au fost: Haroe, Haţi-Hamenuhot. 53 Familiile lui Chiriat-Iearim au fost: Ietriţii, Putiţii, Şumatiţii şi Mişraiţii; din aceste familii au ieşit Ţoreatiţii şi Eştaoliţii. 54 Fiii lui Salma: Betleem şi Netofatiţii, Atrot-Bet-Ioab, Haţi-Hamanahti, Ţoreiţii; 55 şi familiile cărturarilor care locuiau la Iaebeţ, Tireatiţii, Şimeatiţii şi Sucatiţii. Aceştia sunt Cheniţii(W), ieşiţi din Hamat, tatăl casei lui Recab(X).

3 The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah: which three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the Lord; and he slew him.
4 And Tamar his daughter in law bore him Pharez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.
5 The sons of Pharez; Hezron, and Hamul.
6 And the sons of Zerah; Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all.
7 And the sons of Carmi; Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed.
8 And the sons of Ethan; Azariah.
9 The sons also of Hezron, that were born unto him; Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.
10 And Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah;

19 And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur.
20 And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.
21 And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub.
22 And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gilead.
23 And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.
24 And after that Hezron was dead in Calebephratah, then Abiah Hezron's wife bare him Ashur the father of Tekoa.
25 And the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were, Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah.
26 Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
27 And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were, Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.
28 And the sons of Onam were, Shammai, and Jada. And the sons of Shammai; Nadab and Abishur.
29 And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.
30 And the sons of Nadab; Seled, and Appaim: but Seled died without children.
31 And the sons of Appaim; Ishi. And the sons of Ishi; Sheshan. And the children of Sheshan; Ahlai.
32 And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai; Jether, and Jonathan: and Jether died without children.
33 And the sons of Jonathan; Peleth, and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.
34 Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.
35 And Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant to wife; and she bare him Attai.

53 And the families of Kirjathjearim; the Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites,
54 The sons of Salma; Bethlehem, and the Netophathites, Ataroth, the house of Joab, and half of the Manahethites, the Zorites.
55 And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.
