Parusa sa Gumagawa ng Kahalayan

5 Nakarating(A) nga sa akin ang balitang mayroong kabilang sa inyo na gumagawa ng imoralidad; kinakasama niya ang asawa ng kanyang ama. Kahit mga pagano ay hindi gumagawa ng ganyang kahalayan! 2 At nakukuha pa ninyong magmalaki! Dapat sana'y mahiya kayo at malungkot, at ang taong gumagawa ng ganoon ay dapat ninyong itiwalag! 3 Kahit wala ako riyan sa katawan, nariyan naman ako sa espiritu, kaya't parang nariyan na rin ako. Ang gumagawa niyan ay hinatulan ko na 4 sa pangalan ng ating Panginoong Jesus.[a] Kapag kayo'y nagtipun-tipon, at ang espiritu ko ay nariyan, sa kapangyarihan ng ating Panginoong Jesus, 5 ibigay ninyo kay Satanas ang taong iyan upang masira man ang kanyang katawan, maliligtas naman ang kanyang espiritu sa araw ng Panginoon.

6 Hindi(B) kayo dapat magmalaki. Hindi ba ninyo alam ang kasabihang, “Napapaalsa ng kaunting pampaalsa ang buong masa”? 7 Alisin(C) ninyo ang lumang pampaalsa, ang kasalanan, upang kayo'y maging malinis. Sa gayon, matutulad kayo sa isang bagong masa na walang pampaalsa, at talaga namang ganyan kayo. Sapagkat naihandog na ang ating Korderong Pampaskwa na walang iba kundi si Cristo. 8 Kaya't(D) ipagdiwang natin ang Paskwa, hindi sa pamamagitan ng tinapay na may lumang pampaalsa na kasamaan at kahalayan, subalit sa pamamagitan ng tinapay na walang pampaalsa, ang tinapay ng kalinisan at katapatan.

9 Sinabi ko sa aking sulat na huwag kayong makikisama sa mga nakikiapid. 10 Hindi ang mga di-mananampalatayang nakikiapid, sakim, magnanakaw, o sumasamba sa diyus-diyosan ang tinutukoy ko, sapagkat kinakailangan ninyong umalis sa mundong ito para sila'y maiwasan. 11 Ang tinutukoy ko na huwag ninyong papakisamahan ay ang nagsasabing sila'y Cristiano ngunit nakikiapid, sakim, sumasamba sa diyus-diyosan, nanlalait, naglalasing, at nagnanakaw. Ni huwag kayong makikisalo sa ganyang uri ng tao.

12-13 Wala akong karapatang humatol sa mga hindi Cristiano; ang Diyos ang hahatol sa kanila. Ngunit hindi ba't dapat ninyong hatulan ang mga nasa loob ng iglesya? Sabi nga sa kasulatan, “Itiwalag ninyo ang masamang tao.”

¡Expulsen al hermano inmoral!

5 Es ya de dominio público que hay entre vosotros un caso de inmoralidad sexual que ni siquiera entre los paganos se tolera, a saber, que uno de vosotros tiene por mujer a la esposa de su padre. 2 ¡Y de esto os sentís orgullosos! ¿No deberíais, más bien, haber lamentado lo sucedido y haber expulsado de entre vosotros al que hizo tal cosa? 3 Yo, por mi parte, aunque no estoy físicamente entre vosotros, sí estoy presente en espíritu, y ya he juzgado, como si estuviera presente, al que cometió este pecado. 4 Cuando os reunáis en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesús y con su poder, y yo os acompañe en espíritu, 5 entregad a este hombre a Satanás para destrucción de su naturaleza pecaminosa[a] a fin de que su espíritu sea salvo en el día del Señor.

6 Hacéis mal en jactaros. ¿No os dais cuenta de que un poco de levadura hace fermentar toda la masa? 7 Deshaceos de la vieja levadura para que seáis masa nueva, panes sin levadura, como lo sois en realidad. Porque Cristo, nuestro Cordero pascual, ya ha sido sacrificado. 8 Así que celebremos nuestra Pascua no con la vieja levadura, que es la malicia y la perversidad, sino con pan sin levadura, que es la sinceridad y la verdad.

9 Por carta ya os he dicho que no os relacionéis con personas inmorales. 10 Por supuesto, no me refería a la gente inmoral de este mundo, ni a los avaros, estafadores o idólatras. En tal caso, tendríais que salir de este mundo. 11 Pero en esta carta quiero aclararos que no debéis relacionaros con nadie que, llamándose hermano, sea inmoral o avaro, idólatra, calumniador, borracho o estafador. Con tal persona ni siquiera debéis juntaros para comer.

12 ¿Acaso me toca a mí juzgar a los de afuera? ¿No sois vosotros los que debéis juzgar a los de adentro? 13 Dios juzgará a los de afuera. «Expulsad al malvado de entre vosotros».[b]

Dealing With a Case of Incest

5 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife.(A) 2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning(B) and have put out of your fellowship(C) the man who has been doing this? 3 For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit.(D) As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus(E) on the one who has been doing this. 4 So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5 hand this man over(F) to Satan(G) for the destruction of the flesh,[a][b] so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.(H)

6 Your boasting is not good.(I) Don’t you know that a little yeast(J) leavens the whole batch of dough?(K) 7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.(L) 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread(M) of sincerity and truth.

9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate(N) with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the people of this world(O) who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[c](P) but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater(Q) or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.(R)

12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside(S) the church? Are you not to judge those inside?(T) 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”[d](U)
