4 Think of us as servants of Christ who have been given the work of explaining God's mysterious ways.

² And since our first duty is to be faithful to the one we work for,

⁷ Church officials^[a] are in charge of God's work, and so they must also have a good reputation. They must not be bossy, quick-tempered, heavy drinkers, bullies, or dishonest in business.

¹⁰ Each of you has been blessed with one of God's many wonderful gifts to be used in the service of others. So use your gift well.
