1-2 The sons of Benjamin, according to age, were: Bela, the first, Ashbel, the second, Aharah, the third, Nohah, the fourth, Rapha, the fifth.

3-5 The sons of Bela were: Addar, Gera, Abihud, Abishua, Naaman, Ahoah, Gera, Shephuphan, Huram.

6-7 The sons of Ehud, chiefs of the subclans living at Geba, were captured in war and exiled to Manahath. They were: Naaman, Ahijah, Gera (also called Heglam), the father of Uzza and Ahihud.

8-10 Shaharaim divorced his wives Hushim and Baara, but he had children in the land of Moab by Hodesh, his new wife: Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malcam, Jeuz, Sachia, Mirmah.

These sons all became chiefs of subclans.

11 His wife Hushim had borne him Abitub and Elpaal.

12 The sons of Elpaal were: Eber, Misham, Shemed (who built Ono and Lod and their surrounding villages).

13 His other sons were Beriah and Shema, chiefs of subclans living in Aijalon; they chased out the inhabitants of Gath.

14 Elpaal’s sons also included: Ahio, Shashak, Jeremoth.

15-16 The sons of Beriah were: Zebadiah, Arad, Eder, Michael, Ishpah, Joha.

17-18 The sons of Elpaal also included: Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber, Ishmerai, Izliah, Jobab.

19-21 The sons of Shimei were: Jakim, Zichri, Zabdi, Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel, Adaiah, Beraiah, Shimrath.

22-25 The sons of Shashak were: Ishpan, Eber, Eliel, Abdon, Zichri, Hanan, Hananiah, Elam, Anthothijah, Iphdeiah, Penuel.

26-27 The sons of Jeroham were: Shamsherai, Shehariah, Athaliah, Jaareshiah, Elijah, Zichri.

28 These were the chiefs of the subclans living at Jerusalem.

29 Jeiel, the father of Gibeon, lived at Gibeon; and his wife’s name was Maacah. 30-32 His oldest son was named Abdon, followed by: Zur, Kish, Baal, Nadab, Gedor, Ahio, Zecher, Mikloth who was the father of Shimeah.

All of these families lived together near Jerusalem.

33 Ner was the father of Kish, and Kish was the father of Saul;

Saul’s sons included: Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab, Eshbaal.

34 The son of Jonathan was Mephibosheth;[a]

The son of Mephibosheth was Micah.

35 The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tarea, Ahaz.

36 Ahaz was the father of Jehoaddah, Jehoaddah was the father of: Alemeth, Azmaveth, Zimri. Zimri’s son was Moza.

37 Moza was the father of Binea, whose sons were: Raphah, Eleasah, Azel.

38 Azel had six sons: Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, Hanan.

39 Azel’s brother Eshek had three sons: Ulam, the first, Jeush, the second, Eliphelet, the third.

40 Ulam’s sons were prominent warriors who were expert marksmen with their bows. These men had 150 sons and grandsons, and they were all from the tribe of Benjamin.

Belas Söhne waren Ard, Gera – der Vater von Ehud[a] –, Abischua, Naaman, Ahoach, Gera, Schefufan und Huram.

6-7 Ehuds Söhne hießen Naaman, Ahija und Gera. Sie waren die Oberhäupter der Sippen, die in Geba wohnten und später nach Manahat verbannt wurden. Gera, der Vater von Usa und Ahihud, brachte sie dorthin.

8-9 Schaharajim trennte sich von seinen beiden Frauen Huschim und Baara und zog nach Moab. Dort bekamen er und seine Frau Hodesch sieben Söhne: Jobab, Zibja, Mescha, Malkam, 10 Jëuz, Sacheja und Mirma. Sie wurden später Sippenoberhäupter. 11 Mit seiner früheren Frau Huschim hatte er ebenfalls zwei Söhne. Sie hießen Abitub und Elpaal.

12-14 Elpaals Söhne waren Eber, Mischam, Schemed, Beria, Schema, Achjo, Schaschak und Jeremot. Schemed baute die Städte Ono und Lod mit den umliegenden Dörfern; Beria und Schema waren die Oberhäupter der Einwohner von Ajalon. Sie vertrieben die Einwohner von Gat.

15-16 Berias Söhne hießen Sebadja, Arad, Eder, Michael, Jischpa und Joha.

17-18 Elpaal bekam noch weitere Söhne. Sie hießen Sebadja, Meschullam, Hiski, Heber, Jischmerai, Jislia und Jobab.

19-21 Schimis Söhne waren Jakim, Sichri, Sabdi, Eliënai, Zilletai, Eliël, Adaja, Beraja und Schimrat.

22-25 Schaschaks Söhne waren Jischpan, Eber, Eliël, Abdon, Sichri, Hanan, Hananja, Elam, Antotija, Jifdeja und Pnuël.

26-27 Jerohams Söhne hießen Schamscherai, Scheharja, Atalja, Jaareschja, Elia und Sichri. 28 Sie alle waren als Sippenoberhäupter in den Geschlechtsregistern des Stammes Benjamin aufgeführt. Sie lebten in Jerusalem.

Sauls Familie in Gibeon

29 Jeïël[b] gründete die Stadt Gibeon und ließ sich mit seiner Frau Maacha dort nieder. 30 Ihr ältester Sohn hieß Abdon, dann folgten Zur, Kisch, Baal, Ner[c], Nadab, 31 Gedor, Achjo, Secher 32 und Miklot, der einen Sohn mit Namen Schima hatte. Sie ließen sich in Jerusalem nieder und wohnten dort bei anderen Familien ihres Stammes.

33 Ners Sohn hieß Abner[d], und Kischs Sohn hieß Saul. Sauls Söhne waren Jonatan, Malkischua, Abinadab und Eschbaal.

34 Jonatans Sohn hieß Merib-Baal[e], Merib-Baals Sohn Micha.

35 Michas Söhne waren Piton, Melech, Tachrea und Ahas. 36 Der Sohn von Ahas hieß Joadda, Joaddas Söhne waren Alemet, Asmawet und Simri. Simris Sohn hieß Moza, 37 auf ihn folgten in direkter Linie Bina, Refaja[f], Elasa und Azel.

38 Azel hatte sechs Söhne. Sie hießen Asrikam, Bochru, Ismael, Schearja, Obadja und Hanan. 39 Eschek, ein Bruder von Azel, hatte drei Söhne. Der älteste hieß Ulam, dann folgten Jëusch und Elifelet.

40 Ulams Söhne waren erfahrene Soldaten, die gut mit Pfeil und Bogen umgehen konnten. Sie hatten viele Söhne und Enkel, insgesamt 150. Alle genannten Männer und ihre Sippen waren Nachkommen von Benjamin.

The Genealogy of Saul the Benjamite(A)

Benjamin(B) was the father of Bela his firstborn,

Ashbel the second son, Aharah the third,

Nohah the fourth and Rapha the fifth.

The sons of Bela were:

Addar,(C) Gera, Abihud,[a] Abishua, Naaman, Ahoah,(D) Gera, Shephuphan and Huram.

These were the descendants of Ehud,(E) who were heads of families of those living in Geba and were deported to Manahath:

Naaman, Ahijah, and Gera, who deported them and who was the father of Uzza and Ahihud.

Sons were born to Shaharaim in Moab after he had divorced his wives Hushim and Baara. By his wife Hodesh he had Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malkam, 10 Jeuz, Sakia and Mirmah. These were his sons, heads of families. 11 By Hushim he had Abitub and Elpaal.

12 The sons of Elpaal:

Eber, Misham, Shemed (who built Ono(F) and Lod with its surrounding villages), 13 and Beriah and Shema, who were heads of families of those living in Aijalon(G) and who drove out the inhabitants of Gath.(H)

14 Ahio, Shashak, Jeremoth, 15 Zebadiah, Arad, Eder, 16 Michael, Ishpah and Joha were the sons of Beriah.

17 Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber, 18 Ishmerai, Izliah and Jobab were the sons of Elpaal.

19 Jakim, Zikri, Zabdi, 20 Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel, 21 Adaiah, Beraiah and Shimrath were the sons of Shimei.

22 Ishpan, Eber, Eliel, 23 Abdon, Zikri, Hanan, 24 Hananiah, Elam, Anthothijah, 25 Iphdeiah and Penuel were the sons of Shashak.

26 Shamsherai, Shehariah, Athaliah, 27 Jaareshiah, Elijah and Zikri were the sons of Jeroham.

28 All these were heads of families, chiefs as listed in their genealogy, and they lived in Jerusalem.

29 Jeiel[b] the father[c] of Gibeon lived in Gibeon.(I)

His wife’s name was Maakah, 30 and his firstborn son was Abdon, followed by Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner,[d] Nadab, 31 Gedor, Ahio, Zeker 32 and Mikloth, who was the father of Shimeah. They too lived near their relatives in Jerusalem.

33 Ner(J) was the father of Kish,(K) Kish the father of Saul(L), and Saul the father of Jonathan, Malki-Shua, Abinadab and Esh-Baal.[e](M)

34 The son of Jonathan:(N)

Merib-Baal,[f](O) who was the father of Micah.

35 The sons of Micah:

Pithon, Melek, Tarea and Ahaz.

36 Ahaz was the father of Jehoaddah, Jehoaddah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth and Zimri, and Zimri was the father of Moza. 37 Moza was the father of Binea; Raphah was his son, Eleasah his son and Azel his son.
