²⁶As for Elkanah, the sons of Elkanah were Zophai his son,

Nahath his son, ²⁷Eliab his son,

Jeroham his son, and Elkanah his son.

²⁸The sons of Samuel were

the firstborn Joel and Abijah.

²⁶Elkanah his son,^[a] Zophai his son,

Nahath his son, ²⁷Eliab his son,

Jeroham his son, Elkanah^(A) his son

and Samuel^(B) his son.^[b]

²⁸The sons of Samuel:

Joel^[c]^(C) the firstborn

and Abijah the second son.
