9 And he dwelt toward the east as far as the entrance to the wilderness from the Euphrates, for their cattle were abundant in the land of Gilead.
10 Now in the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand, and they dwelt in their tents over all the eastern plains of Gilead.

11 The sons of Gad dwelt opposite them in the land of Bashan as far as Salekah.

9 To the east they occupied the land up to the edge of the desert that extends to the Euphrates(A) River, because their livestock had increased in Gilead.(B)
10 During Saul’s reign they waged war against the Hagrites(C), who were defeated at their hands; they occupied the dwellings of the Hagrites throughout the entire region east of Gilead.
