28 Also all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Jo′ab the son of Zeru′iah had dedicated—all dedicated gifts were in the care of Shelo′moth[a] and his brethren.
29 Of the Iz′harites, Chenani′ah and his sons were appointed to outside duties for Israel, as officers and judges. 30 Of the He′bronites, Hashabi′ah and his brethren, one thousand seven hundred men of ability, had the oversight of Israel westward of the Jordan for all the work of the Lord and for the service of the king.

28 They were also in charge of everything dedicated by Samuel the prophet,[a] Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah; Shelomith and his relatives were in charge of everything that had been dedicated.
29 As for the Izharites: Kenaniah and his sons were given responsibilities outside the temple[b] as officers and judges over Israel.
30 As for the Hebronites: Hashabiah and his relatives, 1,700 respected men, were assigned responsibilities in Israel west of the Jordan; they did the Lord’s work and the king’s service.
