Israel’s Sons(A)
2 These were the sons of Israel:
Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, 2 Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad and Asher.
Judah(B)
To Hezron’s Sons
3 The sons of Judah:(C)
Er, Onan and Shelah.(D) These three were born to him by a Canaanite woman, the daughter of Shua.(E) Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death.(F) 4 Judah’s daughter-in-law(G) Tamar(H) bore Perez(I) and Zerah to Judah. He had five sons in all.
5 The sons of Perez:(J)
Hezron(K) and Hamul.
6 The sons of Zerah:
Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Kalkol and Darda[a]—five in all.
7 The son of Karmi:
Achar,[b](L) who brought trouble on Israel by violating the ban on taking devoted things.[c](M)
8 The son of Ethan:
Azariah.
9 The sons born to Hezron(N) were:
Jerahmeel, Ram and Caleb.[d]
From Ram Son of Hezron
10 Ram(O) was the father of
Amminadab(P), and Amminadab the father of Nahshon,(Q) the leader of the people of Judah. 11 Nahshon was the father of Salmon,[e] Salmon the father of Boaz, 12 Boaz(R) the father of Obed and Obed the father of Jesse.(S)
13 Jesse(T) was the father of
Eliab(U) his firstborn; the second son was Abinadab, the third Shimea, 14 the fourth Nethanel, the fifth Raddai, 15 the sixth Ozem and the seventh David. 16 Their sisters were Zeruiah(V) and Abigail. Zeruiah’s(W) three sons were Abishai, Joab(X) and Asahel. 17 Abigail was the mother of Amasa,(Y) whose father was Jether the Ishmaelite.
Caleb Son of Hezron
18 Caleb son of Hezron had children by his wife Azubah (and by Jerioth). These were her sons: Jesher, Shobab and Ardon. 19 When Azubah died, Caleb(Z) married Ephrath, who bore him Hur. 20 Hur was the father of Uri, and Uri the father of Bezalel.(AA)
21 Later, Hezron, when he was sixty years old, married the daughter of Makir the father of Gilead.(AB) He made love to her, and she bore him Segub. 22 Segub was the father of Jair, who controlled twenty-three towns in Gilead. 23 (But Geshur and Aram captured Havvoth Jair,[f](AC) as well as Kenath(AD) with its surrounding settlements—sixty towns.) All these were descendants of Makir the father of Gilead.
24 After Hezron died in Caleb Ephrathah, Abijah the wife of Hezron bore him Ashhur(AE) the father[g] of Tekoa.
Jerahmeel Son of Hezron
25 The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron:
Ram his firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem and[h] Ahijah. 26 Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
27 The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel:
Maaz, Jamin and Eker.
28 The sons of Onam:
Shammai and Jada.
The sons of Shammai:
Nadab and Abishur.
29 Abishur’s wife was named Abihail, who bore him Ahban and Molid.
30 The sons of Nadab:
Seled and Appaim. Seled died without children.
31 The son of Appaim:
Ishi, who was the father of Sheshan.
Sheshan was the father of Ahlai.
32 The sons of Jada, Shammai’s brother:
Jether and Jonathan. Jether died without children.
33 The sons of Jonathan:
Peleth and Zaza.
These were the descendants of Jerahmeel.
34 Sheshan had no sons—only daughters.
He had an Egyptian servant named Jarha. 35 Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, and she bore him Attai.
36 Attai was the father of Nathan,
Nathan the father of Zabad,(AF)
37 Zabad the father of Ephlal,
Ephlal the father of Obed,
38 Obed the father of Jehu,
Jehu the father of Azariah,
39 Azariah the father of Helez,
Helez the father of Eleasah,
40 Eleasah the father of Sismai,
Sismai the father of Shallum,
41 Shallum the father of Jekamiah,
and Jekamiah the father of Elishama.
The Clans of Caleb
42 The sons of Caleb(AG) the brother of Jerahmeel:
Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph, and his son Mareshah,[i] who was the father of Hebron.
43 The sons of Hebron:
Korah, Tappuah, Rekem and Shema. 44 Shema was the father of Raham, and Raham the father of Jorkeam. Rekem was the father of Shammai. 45 The son of Shammai was Maon(AH), and Maon was the father of Beth Zur.(AI)
46 Caleb’s concubine Ephah was the mother of Haran, Moza and Gazez. Haran was the father of Gazez.
47 The sons of Jahdai:
Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah and Shaaph.
48 Caleb’s concubine Maakah was the mother of Sheber and Tirhanah. 49 She also gave birth to Shaaph the father of Madmannah(AJ) and to Sheva the father of Makbenah and Gibea. Caleb’s daughter was Aksah.(AK) 50 These were the descendants of Caleb.
The sons of Hur(AL) the firstborn of Ephrathah:
Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim,(AM) 51 Salma the father of Bethlehem, and Hareph the father of Beth Gader.
52 The descendants of Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim were:
Haroeh, half the Manahathites, 53 and the clans of Kiriath Jearim: the Ithrites,(AN) Puthites, Shumathites and Mishraites. From these descended the Zorathites and Eshtaolites.
54 The descendants of Salma:
Bethlehem, the Netophathites,(AO) Atroth Beth Joab, half the Manahathites, the Zorites, 55 and the clans of scribes[j] who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, Shimeathites and Sucathites. These are the Kenites(AP) who came from Hammath,(AQ) the father of the Rekabites.[k](AR)

Judini potomci
3 Judini su sinovi bili Er, Onan i Šela. Njih mu je trojicu rodila Kanaanka, Šuina kći. Er, Judin prvorođeni sin, bio je toliko zao da ga je ubio BOG. 4 Tamara, Judina snaha, rodila je Judi Peresa i Zeraha[a] pa je on imao ukupno petoricu sinova.
5 Peresovi su sinovi bili Hesron i Hamul.
6 Zerah je imao petoricu sinova: Zimrija, Etana, Hemana, Kalkola i Daru.
7 Zimrijev sin zvao se Karmi, a Karmijev Akar[b], koji je na Izrael navukao nevolju. Nakon bitke zadržao je predmete određene za potpuno uništenje i tako prekršio Božju zabranu.
8 Etanov sin zvao se Azarija.
9 Hesronu su se rodili sinovi Jerahmeel, Ram i Kelubaj.
Ramovi potomci
10 Ram je bio otac Aminadabu, a Aminadab Nahšonu, koji je bio poglavar naroda Jude. 11 Nahšonu se rodio Salmon, Salmonu Boaz, 12 Boazu Obed, a Obedu Jišaj. 13 Prvorođeni Jišajev sin zvao se Eliab, drugi Abinadab, treći Šimea, 14 četvrti Netanel, peti Radaj, 15 šesti Osem, a sedmi David. 16 Sestre su im se zvale Seruja i Abigajla. Seruja je imala trojicu sinova—Abišaja, Joaba i Asahela. 17 Abigajla je rodila Amasu, a otac mu je bio Išmaelac Jeter.
Kalebovi potomci
18 Hesronov je sin Kaleb bio oženjen Azubom i Jeriotom, a njegovi su sinovi bili: Ješer, Šobab i Ardon. 19 Kad je umrla Azuba, Kaleb se oženio Efratom, a ona mu je rodila Hura. 20 Hur je imao sina Urija, a Uri Besalela.
21 Kasnije, kad je Hesron imao šezdeset godina, oženio je kćer Makira, čovjeka koji se prvi naselio u Gileadu. Ona mu je rodila sina po imenu Segub. 22 Segub je bio otac Jaira koji je vladao nad dvadeset i tri grada u zemlji Gilead. 23 Međutim, Gešur i Aram osvojili su Jairove gradove, a među njima i Kenat sa svih šezdeset okolnih naselja. Sve su to bili potomci Gileadovog pretka Makira.
24 Nakon što je Hesron umro, njegovu je udovicu Efratu oženio sin mu Kaleb. S njom je imao sina Ašura koji se prvi naselio u gradu Tekoi.
Jerahmeelovi potomci
25 Jerahmeel je bio prvorođeni Hesronov sin, a njegov je prvorođeni sin bio Ram. Osim njega, sinovi su mu bili i Buna, Oren, Osem i Ahija. 26 Jerahmeel je imao još jednu ženu, Ataru, a ona je bila Onamova majka.
27 Ovo su bili sinovi prvorođenoga Jerahmeelovog sina Rama: Maas, Jamin i Eker.
28 Onamovi su sinovi bili Šamaj i Jada, a Šamajevi Nadab i Abišur.
29 Abišurova žena zvala se Abihajla, a rodila mu je Ahbana i Molida.
30 Nadabovi su sinovi bili Seled i Apaim; Seled je umro bez djece.
31 Apaim je imao sina Jišija, Jiši Šešana, a Šešan je imao sina Ahlaja.
32 Šamajev je brat Jada imao sinove Jetera i Jonatana. Jeter je umro bez djece, 33 a Jonatan je imao dvojicu sinova: Peleta i Zazu. Sve su to bili Jerahmeelovi potomci.
34 Šešan nije imao sinova, nego samo kćeri. Imao je i jednog slugu, Egipćanina po imenu Jarha. 35 Za njega je udao jednu svoju kćer, a ona je rodila Ataja.
36 Ataj je bio Natanov otac, Natan Zabadov, 37 Zabad Eflalov, Eflal Obedov, 38 Obed Jehuov, Jehu Azarijin, 39 Azarija Helesov, Heles Elasov, 40 Elas Sismajev, Sismaj Šalumov, 41 Šalum Jekamijin, Jekamija Elišamin.
Ostali Kalebovi potomci
42 Jerahmeelov brat Kaleb imao je i drugu djecu. Njegov je prvorođeni sin Meša prvi naselio grad Zif, a drugi sin, Mareša, bio je otac Hebrona.
43 Hebronovi su se sinovi zvali: Korah, Tapuah, Rekem i Šema. 44 Šemi se rodio sin Raham, koji je prvi naselio grad Jorkoam. Rekemu se rodio sin Šamaj, 45 a Šamaj je imao sina Maona koji je prvi naselio grad Bet Sur.
46 Kaleb je imao ženu ropkinju Efu i s njom sinove Harana, Mosu i Gazeza. Haran je također imao sina po imenu Gazez.
47 Johdajevi su se sinovi zvali: Regem, Jotam, Gešan, Pelet, Efa i Šaaf.
48 Kalebu je njegova žena ropkinja Maaka rodila Šebera i Tirhanu. 49 Ona je također bila majka Šaafa i Ševe. Šaaf je prvi naselio grad Madmanu, a Ševa gradove Makbenu i Gibeu. Kaleb je imao i kćer Aksu.
50 Kaleb je imao još potomaka. Hur, Efratin prvorođenac, imao je trojicu sinova: Šobal je prvi naselio Kirjat Jearim, 51 Salma je naselio Betlehem, a Haref je naselio Bet Gader.
52 Ovo su potomci Šobala, pretka Kirjat Jearima: stanovnici Haroe, pola Manahaćana 53 te obitelji Kirjat Jearima—Jitrani, Putovci, Šumatovci i Mišrani. Od njih porijeklo vuku Sorani i Eštaolci.
54 Salmini su potomci stanovnici Betlehema, Netofe, Atrot Bet Joaba, pola Manahovaca, Sorani 55 te obitelji pisara koje su živjele u Jabesu—Tiratovci, Šimeaćani i Sukatovci. Radi se o pisarima Kenijevcima koji porijeklo vode od Hamata, pretka Rekabove obitelji.

2 These are the sons of (A)Israel: (B)Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, (C)Issachar, Zebulun, 2 (D)Dan, (E)Joseph, (F)Benjamin, (G)Naphtali, (H)Gad, and Asher. 3 (I)The sons of Judah: (J)Er, Onan and Shelah; these three Bath-shua the Canaanite bore to him. Now Er, Judah's firstborn, was evil in the sight of the Lord, and he put him to death. 4 His daughter-in-law (K)Tamar also bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah had five sons in all.
5 The (L)sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul. 6 The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara, five in all. 7 The son[a] of Carmi: Achan, the troubler of Israel, who (M)broke faith in the matter of the devoted thing; 8 and Ethan's son was Azariah.

The son[f] of Mareshah: (AR)Hebron.[g] 43 The sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem and Shema. 44 Shema fathered Raham, the father of Jorkeam; and Rekem fathered Shammai. 45 The son of Shammai: Maon; and Maon fathered Beth-zur. 46 Ephah also, Caleb's concubine, bore Haran, Moza, and Gazez; and Haran fathered Gazez. 47 The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph. 48 Maacah, Caleb's concubine, bore Sheber and Tirhanah. 49 She also bore Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbenah and the father of Gibea; and the (AS)daughter of Caleb was Achsah. 50 These were the descendants of Caleb.
The sons[h] of Hur the firstborn of (AT)Ephrathah: Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim, 51 (AU)Salma, the father of Bethlehem, and Hareph the father of Beth-gader. 52 Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim had other sons: (AV)Haroeh, half of the Menuhoth. 53 And the clans of Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; from these came the (AW)Zorathites and the Eshtaolites. 54 The sons of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites. 55 The clans also of the scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites and the Sucathites. These are the (AX)Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of (AY)the house of Rechab.
