¹⁸ For Christ also suffered once^(A) for sins,^(B) the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.^(C) He was put to death in the body^(D) but made alive in the Spirit.^(E)

²⁵ He was delivered over to death for our sins^(A) and was raised to life for our justification.^(B)

⁸ But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.^(A)

¹⁵ For this reason Christ is the mediator^(A) of a new covenant,^(B) that those who are called^(C) may receive the promised^(D) eternal inheritance^(E)—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.^(F)
