¹⁶ And when Jesus was baptized, He came up immediately out of the water. And suddenly the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending on Him like a dove. ¹⁷ And a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

³² Then John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it remained on Him. ³³ I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘The One on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

⁵ While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him.”

⁶ When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and were filled with awe.
