17 وَلَمَّا أَنْهَى يَسُوعُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ رَفَعَ عَيْنَيْهِ نَحْوَ السَّمَاءِ، وَقَالَ: «أَيُّهَا الآبُ، قَدْ حَانَتِ السَّاعَةُ! مَجِّدِ ابْنَكَ، لِيُمَجِّدَكَ ابْنُكَ أَيْضاً، 2 فَقَدْ أَعْطَيْتَهُ السُّلْطَةَ عَلَى جَمِيعِ الْبَشَرِ، لِيَمْنَحَ جَمِيعَ الَّذِينَ قَدْ وَهَبْتَهُمْ لَهُ حَيَاةً أَبَدِيَّةً. 3 وَالْحَيَاةُ الأَبَدِيَّةُ هِيَ أَنْ يَعْرِفُوكَ أَنْتَ الإِلهَ الْحَقَّ وَحْدَكَ، وَيَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَهُ. 4 أَنَا مَجَّدْتُكَ عَلَى الأَرْضِ، وَأَنْجَزْتُ الْعَمَلَ الَّذِي كَلَّفْتَنِي. 5 فَمَجِّدْنِي فِي حَضْرَتِكَ الآنَ، أَيُّهَا الآبُ، بِمَا كَانَ لِي مِنْ مَجْدٍ عِنْدَكَ قَبْلَ تَكْوِينِ الْعَالَمِ.

6 أَظْهَرْتُ اسْمَكَ لِلنَّاسِ الَّذِينَ وَهَبْتَهُمْ لِي مِنَ الْعَالَمِ. كَانُوا لَكَ، فَوَهَبْتَهُمْ لِي. وَقَدْ عَمِلُوا بِكَلِمَتِكَ، 7 وَعَرَفُوا الآنَ أَنَّ كُلَّ مَا وَهَبْتَهُ لِي فَهُوَ مِنْكَ، 8 لأَنِّي نَقَلْتُ إِلَيْهِمِ الْوَصَايَا الَّتِي أَوْصَيْتَنِي بِها، فَقَبِلُوهَا، وَعَرَفُوا حَقّاً أَنِّي خَرَجْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ، وَآمَنُوا أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي.
9 مِنْ أَجْلِ هؤُلاءِ أُصَلِّي إِلَيْكَ. لَسْتُ أُصَلِّي الآنَ مِنْ أَجْلِ الْعَالَمِ، بَلْ مِنْ أَجْلِ الَّذِينَ وَهَبْتَهُمْ لِي، لأَنَّهُمْ لَكَ. 10 وَكُلُّ مَا هُوَ لِي فَهُوَ لَكَ، وَكُلُّ مَا هُوَ لَكَ فَهُوَ لِي؛ وَأَنَا قَدْ تَمَجَّدْتُ فِيهِمْ. 11 هؤُلاءِ بَاقُونَ فِي الْعَالَمِ؛ أَمَّا أَنَا فَلَسْتُ بَاقِياً فِيهِ، لأَنِّي عَائِدٌ إِلَيْكَ. أَيُّهَا الآبُ الْقُدُّوسُ احْفَظْ فِي اسْمِكَ الَّذِينَ وَهَبْتَهُمْ لِي، لِيَكُونُوا وَاحِداً، كَمَا نَحْنُ وَاحِدٌ. 12 حِينَ كُنْتُ مَعَهُمْ، كُنْتُ أَحْفَظُهُمْ فِي اسْمِكَ. فَالَّذِينَ وَهَبْتَهُمْ لِي، رَعَيْتُهُمْ، وَلَمْ يَهْلِكْ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلّا ابْنُ الْهَلاكِ، لِيَتِمَّ الْكِتَابُ. 13 أَمَّا الآنَ فَإِنِّي عَائِدٌ إِلَيْكَ، وَأَتَكَلَّمُ بِهَذَا وَأَنَا بَعْدُ فِي الْعَالَمِ، لِيَكُونَ لَهُمْ فَرَحِي كَامِلاً فِيهِمْ. 14 أَبْلَغْتُهُمْ كَلِمَتَكَ، فَأَبْغَضَهُمُ الْعَالَمُ لأَنَّهُمْ لَيْسُوا مِنَ الْعَالَمِ. 15 وَأَنَا لَا أَطْلُبُ أَنْ تَأْخُذَهُمْ مِنَ الْعَالَمِ، بَلْ أَنْ تَحْفَظَهُمْ مِنَ الشِّرِّيرِ. 16 فَهُمْ لَيْسُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعَالَمِ كَمَا أَنِّي لَسْتُ مِنَ الْعَالَمِ. 17 قَدِّسْهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ؛ إِنَّ كَلِمَتَكَ هِيَ الْحَقُّ. 18 وَكَمَا أَرْسَلْتَنِي أَنْتَ إِلَى الْعَالَمِ، أَرْسَلْتُهُمْ أَنَا أَيْضاً إِلَيْهِ. 19 وَمِنْ أَجْلِهِمْ أَنَا أُقَدِّسُ ذَاتِي، لِيَتَقَدَّسُوا هُمْ أَيْضاً فِي الْحَقِّ.

20 وَلَسْتُ أُصَلِّي مِنْ أَجْلِ هؤُلاءِ فَقَطْ، بَلْ أَيْضاً مِنْ أَجْلِ الَّذِينَ سَوْفَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِي بِسَبَبِ كَلِمَةِ هؤُلاءِ، 21 لِيَكُونَ الْجَمِيعُ وَاحِداً؛ أَيُّهَا الآبُ، كَمَا أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ فِيَّ وَأَنَا فِيكَ، لِيَكُونُوا هُمْ أَيْضاً وَاحِداً فِينَا، لِكَيْ يُؤْمِنَ الْعَالَمُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي. 22 إِنِّي أَعْطَيْتُهُمُ الْمَجْدَ الَّذِي أَعْطَيْتَنِي، لِيَكُونُوا وَاحِداً كَمَا نَحْنُ وَاحِدٌ. 23 أَنَا فِيهِمْ، وَأَنْتَ فِيَّ، لِيَكْتَمِلُوا فَيَصِيرُوا وَاحِداً، حَتَّى يَعْرِفَ الْعَالَمُ أَنَّكَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي وَأَنَّكَ أَحْبَبْتَهُمْ كَمَا أَحْبَبْتَنِي.
24 أَيُّهَا الآبُ، أُرِيدُ لِهؤُلاءِ الَّذِينَ وَهَبْتَهُمْ لِي أَنْ يَكُونُوا مَعِي حَيْثُ أَكُونُ أَنَا، فَيُشَاهِدُوا مَجْدِي الَّذِي أَعْطَيْتَنِي، لأَنَّكَ أَحْبَبْتَنِي قَبْلَ إِنْشَاءِ الْعَالَمِ. 25 أَيُّهَا الآبُ الْبَارُّ، إِنَّ الْعَالَمَ لَمْ يَعْرِفْكَ، أَمَّا أَنَا فَعَرَفْتُكَ، وَهؤُلاءِ عَرَفُوا أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي، 26 وَقَدْ عَرَّفْتُهُمُ اسْمَكَ، وَسَأُعَرِّفُهُمْ أَيْضاً، لِتَكُونَ فِيهِمِ الْمَحَبَّةُ الَّتِي أَحْبَبْتَنِي بِها، وَأَكُونَ أَنَا فِيهِمْ».

17 وَبَعْدَ أنْ قَالَ يَسُوعُ هَذَا، رَفَعَ عَيْنَيْهِ إلَى السَّمَاءِ وَقَالَ: «أيُّهَا الآبُ، قَدْ آنَ الأوَانُ. مَجِّدِ ابنَكَ فَيُمَجِّدَكَ ابْنُكَ أيْضًا. 2 فَقَدْ أعْطَيْتَ الابْنَ سُلطَانًا عَلَى كُلِّ البَشَرِ، لِيُعطِيَ الحَيَاةَ الأبَدِيَّةَ لِكُلِّ إنْسَانٍ وَهَبتَهُ لَهُ. 3 وَالحَيَاةُ الأبَدِيَّةُ هِيَ أنْ يَعْرِفُوكَ أنْتَ اللهُ الحَقِيقِيُّ وَحْدَكَ، وَأنْ يَعْرِفُوا يَسُوعَ المَسِيحَ الَّذِي أرسَلْتَهُ. 4 أنَا مَجَّدتُكَ عَلَى الأرْضِ، فَقَدْ أنجَزتُ العَمَلَ الَّذِي كَلَّفْتَنِي بِهِ. 5 فَمَجِّدْنِي عِنْدَكَ أيُّهَا الآبُ بِالمَجْدِ الَّذِي كَانَ لِي مَعَكَ قَبْلَ وُجُودِ العَالَمِ.
6 «أنَا جَعَلْتُ اسْمَكَ مَعْرُوفًا لِأُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ وَهَبتَهُمْ لِي مِنَ العَالَمِ. كَانُوا لَكَ، فَوَهَبتَهُمْ لِي. وَهُمْ يُطِيعُونَ تَعْلِيمَكَ. 7 وَالْآنَ هُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ أنَّ كُلَّ مَا وَهَبتَنِي إيَّاهُ هُوَ مِنْكَ. 8 فَأنَا كَلَّمتُهُمْ بِالْكَلَامِ الَّذِي أعْطَيْتَهُ لِي، فَقَبِلُوهُ وَأدرَكُوا أنَّنِي جِئْتُ حَقًّا مِنْ عِندِكَ، وَآمَنُوا أنَّكَ أنْتَ أرسَلْتَنِي.
9 «وَأنَا أُصَلِّي مِنْ أجْلِهِمْ هُمْ. لَا أُصَلِّي مِنْ أجْلِ العَالَمِ، بَلْ مِنْ أجْلِ الَّذِينَ وَهَبتَهُمْ لِي، لِأنَّهُمْ لَكَ. 10 كُلُّ مَا لِي هُوَ لَكَ، وَكُلُّ مَا لَكَ هُوَ لِي. وَأنَا تَمَجَّدْتُ مِنْ خِلَالِهِمْ. 11 لَنْ أبقَى أنَا بَعْدُ فِي العَالَمِ، فَأنَا عَائِدٌ إلَيْكَ، بَيْنَمَا هُمْ فِي العَالَمِ. أيُّهَا الآبُ القُدُّوسُ، احفَظْهُمْ بِقُوَّةِ اسْمِكَ الَّذِي أعْطَيْتَهُ لِي، لِكَي يَكُونُوا وَاحِدًا، كَمَا أنْتَ وَأنَا وَاحِدٌ.
12 «حِينَ كُنْتُ أنَا مَعَهُمْ، حَفِظتُهُمْ بِقُوَّةِ اسْمِكَ الَّذِي أعْطَيْتَهُ لِي. وَلَمْ يَهْلِكْ مِنْهُمْ أحَدٌ سِوَى ابْنُ الهَلَاكِ، لِكَي يَتَحَقَّقَ المَكْتُوبُ.[a] 13 وَالْآنَ هَا أنَا رَاجِعٌ إلَيْكَ. لَكِنِّي أطلُبُ هَذَا وَأنَا بَعْدُ فِي العَالَمِ، لِكَي يَخْتَبِرُوا كَامِلَ فَرَحِي فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ. 14 أنَا أعْطَيْتُهُمْ رِسَالَتَكَ، لَكِنَّ العَالَمَ أبْغَضَهُمْ لِأنَّهُمْ لَا يَنْتَمُونَ إلَى العَالَمِ، كَمَا أنِّي أنَا لَا أنتَمِي إلَى العَالَمِ أيْضًا.
15 «لَا أطلُبُ أنْ تَأْخُذَهُمْ مِنَ العَالَمِ، بَلْ أنْ تَحْفَظَهُمْ سَالِمِينَ مِنَ الشِّرِّيرِ.[b] 16 هُمْ لَا يَنْتَمُونَ إلَى العَالَمِ، كَمَا أنِّي أنَا لَا أنتَمِي إلَى العَالَمِ. 17 خَصِّصْهُمْ لَكَ مِنْ خِلَالِ الحَقِّ. تَعْلِيمُكَ هُوَ الحَقُّ. 18 وَكَمَا أرسَلْتَنِي إلَى العَالَمِ، فَإنَّنِي أُرسِلُهُمْ إلَى العَالَمِ. 19 وَأنَا أُخَصِّصُ نَفْسِي لَكَ مِنْ أجْلِهِمْ، لِكَي يَكُونُوا هُمْ أيْضًا مُخَصَّصِينَ لَكَ.
صَلَاةُ يَسُوعَ مِنْ أجْلِ الَّذِينَ سَيُؤمِنُونَ بِه
20 «لَكِنِّي لَا أُصَلِّي مِنْ أجْلِهِمْ هُمْ فَقَطْ، بَلْ أيْضًا مِنْ أجْلِ الَّذِينَ سَيُؤمِنُونَ بِي بِسَبَبِ تَعْلِيمِهِمْ. 21 أطلُبُ أنْ يَكُونُوا وَاحِدًا، كَمَا أنَّكَ أنْتَ أيُّهَا الآبُ فيَّ وَأنَا فِيكَ، فَلْيَكُونُوا هُمْ أيْضًا فِينَا، لِكَي يُؤمِنَ العَالَمُ بأنَّكَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي. 22 فَأنَا أعْطَيْتُهُمُ المَجْدَ الَّذِي أعْطَيْتَهُ لِي، ليَكُونُوا وَاحِدًا، كَمَا أنْتَ وَأنَا وَاحِدٌ. 23 وسَأكُونُ أنَا فِيهِمْ وَأنْتَ فيَّ، لِكَي تَبْلُغَ وِحدَتُهُمْ كَمَالَهَا. وَبِهَذَا سَيَعْرِفُ العَالَمُ أنَّكَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي، وَأنَّكَ أحبَبتَهُمْ تَمَامًا كَمَا أحبَبتَنِي.
24 «أيُّهَا الآبُ، أُريدُ أنْ يَكُونَ هؤلَاءِ الَّذِينَ وَهَبتَهُمْ لِي مَعِي حيثُ أَكُونُ. لِأنِّي أُريدُهُمْ أنْ يَرَوْا مَجْدِي، المَجْدَ الَّذِي أعْطَيْتَنِي إيَاهُ لأنَّكَ أحبَبْتَنِي قَبْلَ أنْ يُخلَقَ العَالَمُ. 25 أيُّهَا الآبُ البَارُّ، هَذَا العَالَمُ لَا يَعْرِفُكَ، أمَّا أنَا فأعرِفُكَ. وَأتبَاعِي هؤلَاءِ يَعْرِفُونَ أنَّكَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي. 26 أنَا عرَّفتُهُمْ بِاسمِكَ، وسأُعَرِّفُهُمْ بهِ دَائِمًا، لِكَي تَكُونَ فِيهِمْ المَحَبَّةُ الَّتِي بِهَا تُحِبُّنِي، وَأَكُونَ أنَا فِيهِمْ أيْضًا.»

17 Queste cose disse Gesú, poi alzò gli occhi al cielo e disse: «Padre, l'ora è venuta; glorifica il Figlio tuo, affinché anche il Figlio glorifichi te,
2 poiché tu gli hai dato potere sopra ogni carne, affinché egli dia vita eterna a tutti coloro che tu gli hai dato.
3 Or questa è la vita eterna, che conoscano te, il solo vero Dio, e Gesú Cristo che tu hai mandato,
4 Io ti ho glorificato sulla terra, avendo compiuta l'opera che tu mi hai dato da fare,
5 Ora dunque, o Padre, glorificami presso di te della gloria che io avevo presso di te prima che il mondo fosse.
6 Io ho manifestato il tuo nome agli uomini che tu mi hai dato dal mondo; erano tuoi, e tu me li hai dati; ed essi hanno osservato la tua parola.
7 Ora essi hanno conosciuto che tutte le cose che tu mi hai dato vengono da te,
8 perché ho dato loro le parole che tu hai dato a me; ed essi le hanno accolte e hanno veramente conosciuto che io sono proceduto da te, e hanno creduto che tu mi hai mandato.
9 Io prego per loro; non prego per il mondo, ma per coloro che tu mi hai dato, perché sono tuoi.
10 E tutte le cose mie sono tue, e le cose tue sono mie; e io sono glorificato in loro.
11 Ora io non sono piú nel mondo, ma essi sono nel mondo, e io vengo a te. Padre santo, conservali nel tuo nome, quelli che tu mi hai dato, affinché siano uno come noi,
12 Mentre ero con loro nel mondo io li ho conservati nel tuo nome; io ho custodito coloro che tu mi hai dato, e nessuno di loro è perito, tranne il figlio della perdizione, affinché si adempisse la Scrittura.
13 Ma ora io vengo a te e dico queste cose nel mondo, affinché la mia gioia giunga a compimento in loro.
14 Io ho dato loro la tua parola e il mondo li ha odiati, perché non sono del mondo, come neppure io sono del mondo,
15 Io non chiedo che tu li tolga dal mondo, ma che tu li preservi dal maligno.
16 Essi non sono del mondo, come io non sono del mondo.
17 Santificali nella tua verità, la tua parola è verità,
18 Come tu hai mandato me nel mondo, cosí ho mandato loro nel mondo.
19 E per loro santifico me stesso, affinché essi pure siano santificati in verità.
20 Or io non prego solo per questi, ma anche per quelli che crederanno in me per mezzo della loro parola
21 affinché siano tutti uno, come tu, o Padre, sei in me e io in te, siano anch'essi uno in noi, affinché il mondo creda che tu mi hai mandato.
22 E io ho dato loro la gloria che tu hai dato a me, affinché siano uno come noi siamo uno.
23 Io sono in loro e tu in me, affinché siano perfetti nell'unità, e affinché il mondo conosca che tu mi hai mandato e li hai amati, come hai amato me.
24 Padre, io voglio che dove sono io, siano con me anche coloro che tu mi hai dato, affinché vedano la mia gloria che tu mi hai dato, perché tu mi hai amato prima della fondazione del mondo.
25 Padre giusto, il mondo non ti ha conosciuto, ma io ti ho conosciuto, e costoro hanno conosciuto che tu mi hai mandato.
26 E io ho fatto loro conoscere il tuo nome e lo farò conoscere ancora, affinché l'amore, del quale tu mi hai amato, sia in loro e io in loro».

Jesus Prays to Be Glorified
17 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven(A) and prayed:
“Father, the hour has come.(B) Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.(C) 2 For you granted him authority over all people(D) that he might give eternal life(E) to all those you have given him.(F) 3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you,(G) the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.(H) 4 I have brought you glory(I) on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.(J) 5 And now, Father, glorify me(K) in your presence with the glory I had with you(L) before the world began.(M)
Jesus Prays for His Disciples
6 “I have revealed you[a](N) to those whom you gave me(O) out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8 For I gave them the words you gave me(P) and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you,(Q) and they believed that you sent me.(R) 9 I pray for them.(S) I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me,(T) for they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine.(U) And glory has come to me through them. 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world,(V) and I am coming to you.(W) Holy Father, protect them by the power of[b] your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one(X) as we are one.(Y) 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by[c] that name you gave me. None has been lost(Z) except the one doomed to destruction(AA) so that Scripture would be fulfilled.(AB)
13 “I am coming to you now,(AC) but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy(AD) within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them,(AE) for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.(AF) 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.(AG) 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.(AH) 17 Sanctify them by[d] the truth; your word is truth.(AI) 18 As you sent me into the world,(AJ) I have sent them into the world.(AK) 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.(AL)
Jesus Prays for All Believers
20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one,(AM) Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.(AN) May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.(AO) 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me,(AP) that they may be one as we are one(AQ)— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me(AR) and have loved them(AS) even as you have loved me.
24 “Father, I want those you have given me(AT) to be with me where I am,(AU) and to see my glory,(AV) the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.(AW)
25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you,(AX) I know you, and they know that you have sent me.(AY) 26 I have made you[e] known to them,(AZ) and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them(BA) and that I myself may be in them.”
