1 Paolo e Timoteo, servi di Gesú Cristo, a tutti i santi in Cristo Gesú che sono a Filippi, con i vescovi e i diaconi:
2 grazia a voi e pace a da Dio nostro Padre e dal Signore Gesú Cristo.
3 Rendo grazie al mio Dio ogni volta che mi ricordo di voi,
4 pregando sempre con gioia per voi tutti in ogni mia orazione,
5 per la vostra collaborazione nell'evangelo dal primo giorno fino ad ora,
6 essendo convinto di questo, che colui che ha cominciato un'opera buona in voi, la porterà a compimento fino al giorno di Cristo Gesú.
7 Ed è giusto che io senta questo di voi tutti, perché vi ho nel cuore, voi che tanto nelle mie catene come nella difesa e conferma dell'evangelo, siete tutti partecipi con me della grazia.
8 Dio infatti mi è testimone, come io vi ami tutti con affetto sviscerato in Gesú Cristo.
9 E per questo prego che il vostro amore abbondi sempre di piú in conoscenza e in ogni discernimento,
10 affinché discerniate le cose eccellenti e possiate essere puri e senza macchia per il giorno di Cristo
11 ripieni di frutti di giustizia che si hanno per mezzo di Gesú Cristo, alla gloria e lode di Dio.
12 Ora, fratelli, voglio che sappiate che le cose che mi sono accadute sono risultate ad un piú grande avanzamento dell'evangelo,
13 tanto che è noto a tutto il pretorio e a tutti gli altri che io sono in catene per Cristo;
14 e la maggior parte dei fratelli nel Signore, incoraggiati dalle mie catene, hanno preso maggiore ardire nel proclamare la parola di Dio senza paura.
15 Alcuni invero predicano Cristo anche per invidia e contesa, ma vi sono anche altri che lo predicano di buon animo.
16 Quelli certo annunziano Cristo per contesa, non puramente, pensando di aggiungere afflizione alle mie catene,
17 ma questi lo fanno per amore, sapendo che sono stabilito alla difesa dell'evangelo.
18 Che importa? Comunque sia, o per pretesto o sinceramente, Cristo è annunziato; e di questo mi rallegro, anzi me ne rallegrerò anche per l'avvenire.
19 So infatti che questo riuscirà a mia salvezza, mediante la vostra preghiera e l'aiuto dello Spirito di Gesú Cristo,
20 secondo la mia fervida attesa e speranza, che non sarò svergognato in cosa alcuna, ma che con ogni franchezza, ora come sempre, Cristo sarà magnificato nel mio corpo, o per vita o per morte.
21 Per me infatti il vivere è Cristo, e il morire guadagno.
22 Ma non so se il vivere nella carne sia per me un lavoro fruttuoso, né posso dire che cosa dovrei scegliere,
23 perché sono stretto da due lati: avendo il desiderio di partire a da questa tenda e di essere con Cristo, il che mi sarebbe di gran lunga migliore,
24 ma il rimanere nella carne è piú necessario per voi.
25 Questo so sicuramente, che rimarrò e dimorerò presso di voi tutti per il vostro avanzamento e per la gioia della vostra fede,
26 affinché il vostro vanto per me abbondi in Cristo Gesú, per la mia presenza di nuovo tra voi.
27 Soltanto, comportatevi in modo degno dell'evangelo di Cristo, affinché, sia che venga e vi veda, o che sia assente, oda nei vostri riguardi che state fermi in uno stesso spirito, combattendo insieme con un medesimo animo per la fede dell'evangelo,
28 senza lasciarvi spaventare in alcuna cosa dagli avversari; questo è per loro una prova di perdizione, ma di salvezza per voi, e ciò da parte di Dio.
29 Poiché a voi è stata data la grazia per amore di Cristo, non solo di credere in lui, ma anche di soffrire per lui,
30 avendo lo stesso combattimento che avete visto in me, e ora udite essere in me.

1 مِنْ بُولُسَ وَتِيمُوثَاوُسَ، عَبْدَي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ، إِلَى جَمِيعِ الْقِدِّيسِينَ فِي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ، الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي مَدِينَةِ فِيلِبِّي، بِمَنْ فِيهِمْ مِنْ رُعَاةٍ وَمُدَبِّرِينَ. 2 لِتَكُنْ لَكُمُ النِّعْمَةُ وَالسَّلامُ مِنَ اللهِ أَبِينَا وَالرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ.
شكر وصلاة
3 إِنِّي أَشْكُرُ إِلَهِي كُلَّمَا تَذَكَّرْتُكُمْ، 4 إِذْ أَتَضَرَّعُ بِفَرَحٍ لأَجْلِكُمْ جَمِيعاً كُلَّ حِينٍ فِي جَمِيعِ صَلَوَاتِي، 5 بِسَبَبِ مُسَاهَمَتِكُمْ فِي نَشْرِ الإِنْجِيلِ مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ إِلَى الآنَ. 6 وَلِي ثِقَةٌ فِي هَذَا الأَمْرِ بِالذَّاتِ: أَنَّ الَّذِي بَدَأَ فِيكُمْ عَمَلاً صَالِحاً سَوْفَ يُتَمِّمُهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ. 7 كَمَا أَنَّ مِنَ الْحَقِّ أَنْ يَكُونَ لِي هَذَا الشُّعُورُ تِجَاهَكُمْ جَمِيعاً، لأَنِّي أَحْتَفِظُ بِكُمْ فِي قَلْبِي، لِكَوْنِكُمْ جَمِيعاً شُرَكَاءَ لِي فِي النِّعْمَةِ، سَوَاءٌ أَكَانَ فِي قُيُودِي أَمْ فِي الدِّفَاعِ عَنِ الإِنْجِيلِ وَتَثْبِيتِهِ. 8 فَإِنَّ اللهَ شَاهِدٌ لِي كَيْفَ أَحِنُّ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعاً بِعَوَاطِفِ الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ. 9 وَصَلاتِي لأَجْلِكُمْ هِيَ هَذِهِ: أَنْ تَزْدَادَ مَحَبَّتُكُمْ أَكْثَرَ فَأَكْثَرَ فِي تَمَامِ الْمَعْرِفَةِ وَالإِدْرَاكِ، 10 لِكَيْ تَسْتَحْسِنُوا الأُمُورَ الْمُمْتَازَةَ، حَتَّى تَكُونُوا طَاهِرِينَ وَخَالِينَ مِنَ الْعَثَرَاتِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْمَسِيحِ، 11 كَامِلِينَ فِي ثِمَارِ الْبِرِّ الآتِيَةِ بِيَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ، لِمَجْدِ اللهِ وَحَمْدِهِ.

12 عَلَى أَنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ تَعْلَمُوا، أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ، أَنَّ أَحْوَالِي قَدْ أَدَّتْ فِي الْوَاقِعِ إِلَى انْتِشَارِ الإِنْجِيلِ بِنَجَاحٍ، 13 حَتَّى إِنَّهُ قَدْ صَارَ مَعْرُوفاً لَدَى الْحَرَسِ الإِمْبِرَاطُورِيِّ كُلِّهِ وَلَدَى الْبَاقِينَ جَمِيعاً أَنَّ قُيُودِي إِنَّمَا هِيَ لأَجْلِ الْمَسِيحِ؛ 14 كَمَا أَنَّ أَكْثَرَ الإِخْوَةِ، وَقَدْ صَارُوا وَاثِقِينَ بِالرَّبِّ بِسَبَبِ قُيُودِي، يَجْرُؤُونَ عَلَى التَّبْشِيرِ بِكَلِمَةِ اللهِ دُونَ خَوْفٍ. 15 حَقّاً أَنَّ بَعْضَهُمْ يُبَشِّرُونَ بِالْمَسِيحِ عَنْ حَسَدٍ وَنِزَاعٍ؛ وَأَمَّا الآخَرُونَ فَعَنْ حُسْنِ نِيَّةٍ. 16 فَهَؤُلاءِ تَدْفَعُهُمُ الْمَحَبَّةُ، عَالِمِينَ أَنِّي قَدْ عُيِّنْتُ لِلدِّفَاعِ عَنِ الإِنْجِيلِ؛ 17 وَأُولَئِكَ يَدْفَعُهُمُ التَّحَزُّبُ، فَيُنَادُونَ بِالْمَسِيحِ بِغَيْرِ إِخْلاصٍ، ظَنّاً مِنْهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ يُثِيرُونَ عَلَيَّ الضِّيقَ إِضَافَةً إِلَى الْقُيُودِ.
18 فَمَاذَا إِذَنْ؟ مَهْمَا يَكُنْ، وَفِي أَيِّ حَالٍ، فَإِنَّ الْمَسِيحَ يُنَادَى بِهِ، سَوَاءٌ أَكَانَ بِذَرِيعَةٍ أَمْ بِحَقٍّ. وَبِهَذَا أَنَا أَفْرَحُ وَسَأَفْرَحُ بَعْدُ! 19 فَإِنَّنِي أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الأَمْرَ سَيُؤَدِّي إِلَى خَلاصٍ، بِفَضْلِ صَلاتِكُمْ وَبِمَعُونَةِ رُوحِ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ؛ 20 وَفْقاً لِمَا أَتَوَقَّعُهُ وَأَرْجُوهُ: أَنِّي لَنْ أَفْشَلَ فِي شَيْءٍ، بَلْ فِي كُلِّ جُرْأَةٍ وَكَمَا فِي كُلِّ حِينٍ فَكَذلِكَ الآنَ أَيْضاً، يَتَعَظَّمُ الْمَسِيحُ فِي جَسَدِي، سَوَاءٌ أَكَانَ بِالْحَيَاةِ أَمْ بِالْمَوْتِ. 21 فَالْحَيَاةُ عِنْدِي هِيَ الْمَسِيحُ، وَالْمَوْتُ رِبْحٌ لِي. 22 وَلَكِنْ، إِنْ كَانَ لِي أَنْ أَحْيَا فِي الْجَسَدِ، فَحَيَاتِي تُهَيِّئُ لِي عَمَلاً مُثْمِراً. وَلَسْتُ أَدْرِي أَيَّ الاثْنَيْنِ أَخْتَارُ! 23 فَأَنَا تَحْتَ ضَغْطٍ مِنْ كِلَيْهِمَا: إِذْ إِنِّي رَاغِبٌ فِي أَنْ أَرْحَلَ وَأُقِيمَ مَعَ الْمَسِيحِ، وَهَذَا أَفْضَلُ بِكَثِيرٍ جِدّاً؛ 24 وَلَكِنَّ بَقَائِي فِي الْجَسَدِ أَشَدُّ ضَرُورَةً مِنْ أَجْلِكُمْ. 25 وَمَادَامَتْ لِي ثِقَةٌ بِهَذَا، أَعْلَمُ أَنِّي سَأَبْقَى وَأُقِيمُ مَعَكُمْ جَمِيعاً، لأَجْلِ تَقَدُّمِكُمْ فِي الإِيمَانِ وَفَرَحِكُمْ فِيهِ، 26 لِيَزْدَادَ بِسَبَبِي افْتِخَارُكُمْ بِالْمَسِيحِ بِحُضُورِي بَيْنَكُمْ مِنْ جَدِيدٍ.
عيشة تليق بإنجيل المسيح
27 إِنَّمَا عِيشُوا عِيشَةً تَلِيقُ بِإِنْجِيلِ الْمَسِيحِ، حَتَّى إِذَا جِئْتُ وَشَاهَدْتُكُمْ أَوْ بَقَيْتُ غَائِباً عَنْكُمْ، أَسْمَعُ أَخْبَارَكُمْ وَأَعْرِفُ أَنَّكُمْ ثَابِتُونَ فِي رُوحٍ وَاحِدٍ، وَبِنَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ تُجَاهِدُونَ مَعاً لأَجْلِ الإِيمَانِ الْمُعْلَنِ فِي الإِنْجِيلِ، 28 غَيْرَ مُرْتَعِبِينَ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الَّذِينَ يُقَاوِمُونَكُمْ، فَإِنَّ فِي مُقَاوَمَتِهِمْ دَلِيلاً عَلَى هَلاكِهِمْ هُمْ وَعَلَى خَلاصِكُمْ أَنْتُمْ، وَذَلِكَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ. 29 فَقَدْ وُهِبَ لَكُمْ، لأَجْلِ الْمَسِيحِ، لَا أَنْ تُؤْمِنُوا بِهِ وَحَسْبُ، بَلْ أَيْضاً أَنْ تَتَأَلَّمُوا لأَجْلِهِ، 30 مُجَاهِدِينَ الْجِهَادَ عَيْنَهُ الَّذِي رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فِيَّ وَالَّذِي تَسْمَعُونَ الآنَ أَنَّهُ فِيَّ.

To all God’s holy people(B) in Christ Jesus at Philippi,(C) together with the overseers(D) and deacons[a]:(E)
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.(F)
Thanksgiving and Prayer
3 I thank my God every time I remember you.(G) 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray(H) with joy 5 because of your partnership(I) in the gospel from the first day(J) until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion(K) until the day of Christ Jesus.(L)
7 It is right(M) for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart(N) and, whether I am in chains(O) or defending(P) and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. 8 God can testify(Q) how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
9 And this is my prayer: that your love(R) may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,(S) 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,(T) 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness(U) that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
Paul’s Chains Advance the Gospel
12 Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters,[b] that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. 13 As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard[c] and to everyone else that I am in chains(V) for Christ. 14 And because of my chains,(W) most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.(X)
15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel.(Y) 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition,(Z) not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.(AA) 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.
Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, 19 for I know that through your prayers(AB) and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ(AC) what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.[d](AD) 20 I eagerly expect(AE) and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage(AF) so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body,(AG) whether by life or by death.(AH) 21 For to me, to live is Christ(AI) and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart(AJ) and be with Christ,(AK) which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me.
Life Worthy of the Gospel
27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy(AL) of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm(AM) in the one Spirit,[e] striving together(AN) as one for the faith of the gospel 28 without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. 29 For it has been granted to you(AO) on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer(AP) for him, 30 since you are going through the same struggle(AQ) you saw(AR) I had, and now hear(AS) that I still have.
