14 Anche ad Icònio essi entrarono nella sinagoga dei Giudei e vi parlarono in modo tale che un gran numero di Giudei e di Greci divennero credenti. 2 Ma i Giudei rimasti increduli eccitarono e inasprirono gli animi dei pagani contro i fratelli. 3 Rimasero tuttavia colà per un certo tempo e parlavano fiduciosi nel Signore, che rendeva testimonianza alla predicazione della sua grazia e concedeva che per mano loro si operassero segni e prodigi. 4 E la popolazione della città si divise, schierandosi gli uni dalla parte dei Giudei, gli altri dalla parte degli apostoli. 5 Ma quando ci fu un tentativo dei pagani e dei Giudei con i loro capi per maltrattarli e lapidarli, 6 essi se ne accorsero e fuggirono nelle città della Licaònia, Listra e Derbe e nei dintorni, 7 e là continuavano a predicare il vangelo.
Guarigione di un paralizzato
8 C'era a Listra un uomo paralizzato alle gambe, storpio sin dalla nascita, che non aveva mai camminato. 9 Egli ascoltava il discorso di Paolo e questi, fissandolo con lo sguardo e notando che aveva fede di esser risanato, 10 disse a gran voce: «Alzati diritto in piedi!». Egli fece un balzo e si mise a camminare. 11 La gente allora, al vedere ciò che Paolo aveva fatto, esclamò in dialetto licaonio e disse: «Gli dei sono scesi tra di noi in figura umana!». 12 E chiamavano Barnaba Zeus e Paolo Hermes, perché era lui il più eloquente.
13 Intanto il sacerdote di Zeus, il cui tempio era all'ingresso della città, recando alle porte tori e corone, voleva offrire un sacrificio insieme alla folla. 14 Sentendo ciò, gli apostoli Barnaba e Paolo si strapparono le vesti e si precipitarono tra la folla, gridando: 15 «Cittadini, perché fate questo? Anche noi siamo esseri umani, mortali come voi, e vi predichiamo di convertirvi da queste vanità al Dio vivente che ha fatto il cielo, la terra, il mare e tutte le cose che in essi si trovano. 16 Egli, nelle generazioni passate, ha lasciato che ogni popolo seguisse la sua strada; 17 ma non ha cessato di dar prova di sé beneficando, concedendovi dal cielo piogge e stagioni ricche di frutti, fornendovi il cibo e riempiendo di letizia i vostri cuori». 18 E così dicendo, riuscirono a fatica a far desistere la folla dall'offrire loro un sacrificio.
Fine della missione
19 Ma giunsero da Antiochia e da Icònio alcuni Giudei, i quali trassero dalla loro parte la folla; essi presero Paolo a sassate e quindi lo trascinarono fuori della città, credendolo morto. 20 Allora gli si fecero attorno i discepoli ed egli, alzatosi, entrò in città. Il giorno dopo partì con Barnaba alla volta di Derbe.
21 Dopo aver predicato il vangelo in quella città e fatto un numero considerevole di discepoli, ritornarono a Listra, Icònio e Antiochia, 22 rianimando i discepoli ed esortandoli a restare saldi nella fede poiché, dicevano, è necessario attraversare molte tribolazioni per entrare nel regno di Dio. 23 Costituirono quindi per loro in ogni comunità alcuni anziani e dopo avere pregato e digiunato li affidarono al Signore, nel quale avevano creduto. 24 Attraversata poi la Pisidia, raggiunsero la Panfilia 25 e dopo avere predicato la parola di Dio a Perge, scesero ad Attalìa; 26 di qui fecero vela per Antiochia là dove erano stati affidati alla grazia del Signore per l'impresa che avevano compiuto.
27 Non appena furono arrivati, riunirono la comunità e riferirono tutto quello che Dio aveva compiuto per mezzo loro e come aveva aperto ai pagani la porta della fede. 28 E si fermarono per non poco tempo insieme ai discepoli.

14 وَحَدَثَ الأمْرُ نَفْسُهُ فِي مَدِينَةِ إيقُونِيَةَ أيْضًا، حَيْثُ دَخَلَ بُولُسُ وَبَرنَابَا إلَى المَجْمَعِ اليَهُودِيِّ وَتَكَلَّمَا، فَآمَنَ عَدَدٌ كَبِيرٌ مِنَ اليَهُودِ وَاليُونَانِيِّينَ. 2 أمَّا اليَهُودُ الَّذِينَ رَفَضُوا أنْ يُؤمِنُوا فَقَدْ هَيَّجُوا غَيْرَ اليَهُودِ وَحَرَّضُوهُمْ عَلَى الإخوَةِ.
3 وَبَقِيَ بُولُسُ وَبَرنَابَا هُنَاكَ فَترَةً طَوِيلَةً. وَكَانَا يَتَكَلَّمَانِ بِشَجَاعَةٍ عَنِ الرَّبِّ. وَأيَّدَ الرَّبُّ رِسَالَةَ نِعْمَتِهِ بِأنْ سَمَحَ بِأنْ تَجْرِيَ مُعجِزَاتٌ وَعَجَائِبُ عَلَى أيدِيهِمَا. 4 وَانقَسَمَ أهْلُ المَدِينَةِ مَا بَيْنَ مُؤَيِّدٍ لِليَهُودِ وَمَا بَيْنَ مُؤَيِّدٍ لِلرَّسُولَينِ.
5 وَتَحَرَّكَ غَيْرُ اليَهُودِ وَاليَهُودُ جَمِيعًا مَعَ قَادَتِهِمْ لِلإسَاءَةِ إلَيْهِمَا وَرَجمِهِمَا. 6 غَيْرَ أنَّهُمَا عَلِمَا بِهَذَا، وَهَرَبَا إلَى مَدِينَتَي لِستَرَةَ وَدَرْبَةَ فِي مُقَاطَعَةِ لِيكَأُونِيَّةَ وَالمِنْطَقَةِ المُحِيطَةِ. 7 وَهُنَاكَ استَمَرَّا يُبَشِّرَانِ.

8 وَكَانَ يَجْلِسُ فِي لِستَرَةَ رَجُلٌ عَاجِزُ القَدَمَينِ. لَمْ يَكُنْ قَدْ مَشَىْ عَلَىْ قَدَميهِ قَطُّ لِأنَّهُ وُلِدَ كَسِيحًا. 9 سَمِعَ هَذَا الرَّجُلُ بُولُسَ وَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ. فَوَجَّهَ بُولُسُ نَظَرَهُ إلَيْهِ، وَرَأى أنَّ لَدَيهِ إيمَانًا لِكَي يُشفَى. 10 وَقَالَ بُولُسُ بِصَوْتٍ مُرْتَفِعٍ: «قِفْ مُنتَصِبًا عَلَى قَدَمَيكَ!» فَقَفَزَ وَأخَذَ يَمْشِي.
11 فَلَمَّا رَأى الجَمعُ مَا فَعَلَهُ بُولُسُ، رَفَعُوا أصوَاتَهُمْ بِلُغَةِ مُقَاطَعَةِ لِيكَأُونِيَّةَ وَقَالُوا: «أصبَحَ الآلِهَةُ كَالنَّاسِ وَنَزَلُوا إلَينَا!» 12 وَسَمَّوْا بَرنَابَا «زَفْسَ،»[a] أمَّا بُولُسُ فَسَمَّوْهُ «هَرْمَسَ»[b] لِأنَّهُ كَانَ المُبَادِرَ فِي الكَلَامِ. 13 وَأحضَرَ كَاهِنُ زَفْسَ، الَّذِي كَانَ مَعبَدُهُ عِنْدَ مَدْخَلِ المَدِينَةِ، ثِيرَانًا وَأكَالِيلَ إلَى بَوَّابَاتِ المَدِينَةِ. فَقَدْ أرَادَ هُوَ وَالجَمعُ أنْ يُقَدِّمُوا ذَبَائِحَ لَهُمَا.
14 لَكِنْ لَمَّا سَمِعَ الرَّسُولَانِ بَرنَابَا وَبُولُسُ بِهَذَا، مَزَّقَا ثِيَابَهُمَا، وَاندَفَعَا إلَى الجَمعِ وَهُمَا يَصْرُخَانِ: 15 «أيُّهَا الرِّجَالُ، لِمَاذَا تَفْعَلُونَ هَذَا؟ إنَّنَا نَحْنُ أيْضًا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ. وَنَحْنُ هُنَا لِكَي نَنْقِلَ لَكُمُ البُشْرَى، وَنُبعِدَكُمْ عَنْ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ التَّافِهَةِ إلَى الإلَهِ الحَيِّ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاءَ وَالأرْضَ وَالبَحْرَ وَكُلَّ مَا فِيهَا.
16 «لَقَدْ سَمَحَ لِلشُّعُوبِ فِي الأزمِنَةِ الغَابِرَةِ بِأنْ يَعِيشُوا كَمَا يَحْلُو لَهُمْ. 17 لَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَتْرُكْكُمْ دُونَ أدِلَّةٍ تَشْهَدُ لَهُ، لِأنَّهُ يَصْنَعُ لَكُمْ خَيرَاتٍ كَثِيرَةً. فَهُوَ يُعطِيكُمْ أمطَارًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَحَاصِيلَ فِي أوقَاتِهَا. وَهُوَ يُزَوِّدُكُمْ بِالطَّعَامِ وَيَملأُ قُلُوبَكُمْ بِالفَرَحِ.»
18 وَرُغْمَ كَلَامِهِمَا هَذَا، فَإنَّهُمَا لَمْ يَسْتَطِيعَا مَنْعَ النَّاسِ مِنْ تَقْدِيمِ الذَّبَائِحِ إلَّا بَعْدَ جَهدٍ كَبِيرٍ.
19 ثُمَّ جَاءَ بَعْضُ اليَهُودِ مِنْ مَدِينَتَي أنطَاكِيَةَ وَإيقُونِيَةَ، وَاستَمَالُوا الجُمُوعَ إلَى جَانِبِهِمْ. فَرَجَمُوا بُولُسَ وَجَرُّوهُ إلَى خَارِجِ المَدِينَةِ ظَانِّينَ أنَّهُ مَيِّتٌ. 20 وَعِنْدَمَا تَجَمَّعَ التَّلَاميذُ حَوْلَهُ، نَهَضَ بُولُسُ وَدَخَلَ المَدِينَةَ. وَفِي اليَوْمِ التَّالِي ذَهَبَ مَعَ بَرنَابَا إلَى مَدِينَةِ دَرْبَةَ.
العَودَةُ إلَى أنطَاكِيَةَ فِي سُورِيَّة
21 وَبَشَّرَا فِي تِلْكَ المَدِينَةِ وَتَلْمَذَا كَثِيرِينَ، ثُمَّ عَادَا إلَى لِستَرَةَ وَإيقُونِيَةَ وَأنطَاكِيَةَ. 22 وَكَانَا يُقَوِّيَانِ نُفُوسَ التَّلَامِيذِ وَيُشَجِّعَانِهِمْ عَلَى أنْ يَسْتَمِرُّوا فِي الإيمَانِ. وَقَالَا لَهُمْ: «يَنْبَغِي أنْ نَدخُلَ فِي مُلكِ اللهِ بِمُعَانَاةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ.» 23 ثُمَّ عَيَّنَا شُيُوخًا فِي كُلِّ كَنِيسَةٍ، وَصَلَّيَا وَصَامَا لِكَي يَحْفَظَهُمُ الرَّبُّ الَّذِي آمَنُوا بِهِ.
24 وَبَعْدَ أنِ اجتَازَا بِيسِيدِيَّةَ، وَصَلَا إلَى بَمفِيلِيَّةَ. 25 ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَا بِالرِّسَالَةِ فِي بَرجَةَ، وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ نَزَلَا إلَى أتَّالِيَةَ. 26 وَمِنْ هُنَاكَ أبحَرَا إلَى أنطَاكِيَةَ، وَهِيَ المَدينَةُ الَّتِي كَانَ الإخْوَةُ قَدْ أرسَلَاهُمَا مِنْهَا بِنِعْمَةِ اللهِ لإنجَازِ الخِدْمَةِ المُوكَلَةِ لَهُمَا،[c] وَقَدْ أنجَزَاهَا الآنَ بِالفِعْلِ.
27 وَعِنْدَمَا وَصَلَا، جَمَعَا شَعْبَ الكَنِيسَةِ، وَأخبَرَاهُمْ بِمَا عَمِلَ اللهُ مَعَهُمْ. وَقَالَا لَهُمْ إنَّ اللهَ قَدْ فَتَحَ بَابَ الإيمَانِ لِغَيرِ اليَهُودِ. 28 وَأقَامَا مَعَ التَّلَامِيذِ مُدَّةً غَيْرَ قَصِيرَةٍ.

14 Nella città di Iconio, Paolo e Barnaba entrarono insieme nella sinagoga e predicarono con tale convinzione che molti, sia Giudei che pagani, credettero nel Signore Gesù.
2 Ma gli altri Giudei, quelli che non avevano voluto credere, convinsero dei pagani a mettersi contro Paolo e Barnaba, facendo ogni tipo di maldicenza sul loro conto. 3 Tuttavia, Paolo e Barnaba si fermarono in quella città per molto tempo e, senza paura, predicavano il Vangelo. Il Signore provò che il loro messaggio era divino dando loro il potere di compiere grandi miracoli.
4 Ma la popolazione della città era divisa: alcuni stavano dalla parte dei capi giudei, altri invece da quella degli apostoli.

5-6 Quando, però, Paolo e Barnaba vennero a sapere che i pagani e i Giudei, coi loro capi, avevano intenzione di malmenarli e prenderli a sassate, scapparono nelle città della Licaonia, a Listra, poi a Derbe e nei dintorni; 7 ed anche là predicarono il Vangelo.
8 Mentre si trovarono a Listra, si imbatterono in un uomo paralizzato alle gambe dalla nascita, che stava sempre seduto e non aveva mai camminato in vita sua. 9 Questʼuomo stava ad ascoltare Paolo che predicava. Paolo lo fissò negli occhi e sʼaccorse che aveva fede sufficiente per essere guarito. 10 Allora esclamò ad alta voce: «Àlzati!» Lʼuomo balzò in piedi e cominciò a camminare!
11 Quando i presenti videro ciò che Paolo aveva fatto, cominciarono a gridare nel loro dialetto: «Questi sono dèi, che hanno preso sembianze umane e sono scesi tra noi!» 12 E dicevano che Barnaba doveva essere Giove, e Paolo, siccome era sempre il primo a parlare, Mercurio. 13 Allora il sacerdote del tempio di Giove, che si trovava allʼentrata della città, portò delle ghirlande di fiori e, insieme alla folla, si preparò a sacrificare dei tori in loro onore, davanti alle porte della città.
14 Quando Paolo e Barnaba sʼaccorsero di ciò che stava accadendo, dalla disperazione si stracciarono i vestiti e, correndo fra la gente, cominciarono a gridare: 15 «Uomini! Che state facendo? Noi siamo esseri umani, né più e né meno come voi! Siamo venuti per portarvi il Vangelo. Smettetela di adorare queste cose senza valore e pregate, invece, il Dio vivente, che ha fatto il cielo, la terra e il mare e tutto ciò che esiste. 16 Nei tempi passati, Dio ha lasciato che ogni popolo seguisse la propria strada, 17 anche se non ha mai smesso di farsi conoscere, facendovi del bene. Infatti vi ha mandato pioggia dal cielo e dei buoni raccolti, così avete avuto serenità e cibo in abbondanza!»
18 Nonostante le parole convincenti, Paolo e Barnaba riuscirono a malapena ad impedire che la popolazione offrisse loro un sacrificio!
19 Eppure, soltanto pochi giorni dopo, alcuni Giudei di Antiochia e di Iconio tanto fecero, che convinsero quella stessa gente a lapidare Paolo, che fu poi trascinato fuori dalla città, apparentemente morto. 20 Ma, quando i discepoli gli si strinsero attorno, Paolo si rialzò e rientrò in città.
Il giorno dopo, Paolo partì con Barnaba per Derbe. 21 Dopo aver predicato la Buona Notizia in quella città e aver fatto molti discepoli, tornarono di nuovo a Listra, Iconio ed Antiochia: 22 dappertutto infondevano coraggio ai credenti e li esortavano a perseverare nella fede, ricordando loro che si entra nel Regno di Dio attraverso molte tribolazioni. 23 Poi Paolo e Barnaba fecero eleggere degli anziani per ogni chiesa, e dopo aver pregato e digiunato, li raccomandarono alla protezione del Signore, in cui avevano creduto.
24 Quindi, attraverso la Pisidia, tornarono in Panfilia. 25 Predicarono di nuovo a Perge, e proseguirono per Attalia.
26 Infine, tornarono per mare ad Antiochia, da dove erano partiti, dopo essere stati raccomandati a Dio, per il lavoro che avevano appena finito.
27 Appena arrivati, riunirono i credenti e raccontarono del loro viaggio e come Dio avesse dato anche ai pagani la possibilità di credere. 28 E restarono con i credenti di Antiochia per un bel poʼ di tempo.

In Iconium
14 At Iconium(A) Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue.(B) There they spoke so effectively that a great number(C) of Jews and Greeks believed. 2 But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the other Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.(D) 3 So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly(E) for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders.(F) 4 The people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, others with the apostles.(G) 5 There was a plot afoot among both Gentiles and Jews,(H) together with their leaders, to mistreat them and stone them.(I) 6 But they found out about it and fled(J) to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding country, 7 where they continued to preach(K) the gospel.(L)

8 In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth(M) and had never walked. 9 He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed(N) 10 and called out, “Stand up on your feet!”(O) At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.(P)
11 When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!”(Q) 12 Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker.(R) 13 The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates because he and the crowd wanted to offer sacrifices to them.
14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes(S) and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: 15 “Friends, why are you doing this? We too are only human,(T) like you. We are bringing you good news,(U) telling you to turn from these worthless things(V) to the living God,(W) who made the heavens and the earth(X) and the sea and everything in them.(Y) 16 In the past, he let(Z) all nations go their own way.(AA) 17 Yet he has not left himself without testimony:(AB) He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons;(AC) he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”(AD) 18 Even with these words, they had difficulty keeping the crowd from sacrificing to them.
19 Then some Jews(AE) came from Antioch and Iconium(AF) and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul(AG) and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. 20 But after the disciples(AH) had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.
The Return to Antioch in Syria
21 They preached the gospel(AI) in that city and won a large number(AJ) of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium(AK) and Antioch, 22 strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith.(AL) “We must go through many hardships(AM) to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. 23 Paul and Barnabas appointed elders[a](AN) for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting,(AO) committed them to the Lord,(AP) in whom they had put their trust. 24 After going through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia,(AQ) 25 and when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.
26 From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch,(AR) where they had been committed to the grace of God(AS) for the work they had now completed.(AT) 27 On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them(AU) and how he had opened a door(AV) of faith to the Gentiles. 28 And they stayed there a long time with the disciples.(AW)
