40 هَذِهِ هِيَ النُّبُوءَةُ الَّتِي أَوْحَى بِها الرَّبُّ إِلَى إِرْمِيَا بَعْدَ أَنْ أَطْلَقَهُ نَبُوزَرَادَانُ رَئِيسُ الشُّرْطَةِ مِنَ الرَّامَةِ حِينَ قَادَهُ مُقَيَّداً بِالأَغْلالِ مَعَ بَقِيَّةِ أَسْرَى أُورُشَلِيمَ وَيَهُوذَا الْمَنْفِيِّينَ إِلَى بَابِلَ، 2 إِذِ انْتَحَى رَئِيسُ الشُّرْطَةِ بِإِرْمِيَا جَانِباً وَقَالَ لَهُ: «إِنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكَ قَدْ قَضَى بِهَذِهِ الْبَلِيَّةِ عَلَى هَذَا الْمَوْضِعِ. 3 فَقَدْ تَمَّمَ الرَّبُّ هَذَا الْقَضَاءَ، وَوَفَى بِمَا أَنْذَرَ بِهِ. لأَنَّكُمْ أَخْطَأْتُمْ فِي حَقِّ الرَّبِّ وَلَمْ تُطِيعُوا صَوْتَهُ، حَلَّ بِكُمْ هَذَا الأَمْرُ. 4 وَالآنَ هَا أَنَا أُطْلِقُكَ الْيَوْمَ مِنَ الْقُيُودِ الَّتِي تَغُلُّ يَدَيْكَ، فَإِنْ طَابَ لَكَ أَنْ تَأْتِيَ مَعِي إِلَى بَابِلَ فَتَعَالَ، وَأَنَا أَعْتَنِي بِكَ أَشَدَّ عِنَايَةٍ. وَإِنْ سَاءَ فِي عَيْنَيْكَ أَنْ تَأْتِيَ مَعِي إِلَى بَابِلَ فَابْقَ. هَا كُلُّ الْبِلادِ مُشَرَّعَةٌ أَمَامَكَ، فَاذْهَبْ حَيْثُ يَحْلُو لَكَ. 5 وَإِنْ عَزَمْتَ عَلَى الْبَقَاءِ فَارْجِعْ إِلَى جَدَلِيَا بْنِ أَخِيقَامَ الَّذِي أَقَامَهُ مَلِكُ بَابِلَ وَالِياً عَلَى مُدُنِ يَهُوذَا وَأَقِمْ عِنْدَهُ فِي وَسَطِ الشَّعْبِ، وَاذْهَبْ حَيْثُ يَحْلُو لَكَ». وَأَعْطَاهُ رَئِيسُ الشُّرْطَةِ مَؤُونَةً وَهَدِيَّةً وَأَطْلَقَهُ. 6 فَذَهَبَ إِرْمِيَا إِلَى جَدَلِيَا بْنِ أَخِيقَامَ وَأَقَامَ عِنْدَهُ فِي وَسَطِ الشَّعْبِ الْبَاقِي فِي الأَرْضِ.

7 فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ كُلُّ رُؤَسَاءِ الْجُيُوشِ الْمُنْتَشِرَةِ فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ وَرِجَالُهُمْ أَنَّ مَلِكَ بَابِلَ قَدْ وَلَّى جَدَلِيَا بْنَ أَخِيقَامَ لِيَكُونَ حَاكِماً فِي الْبِلادِ، وَعَهِدَ إِلَيْهِ بِالرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ وَالأَطْفَالِ وَفُقَرَاءِ الأَرْضِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُسْبَوْا إِلَى بَابِلَ، 8 جَاءُوا إِلَى جَدَلِيَا فِي الْمِصْفَاةِ، وَهُمْ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ نَثَنْيَا، وَيُوحَانَانُ وَيُونَاثَانُ ابْنَا قَارِيحَ، وَسَرَايَا بْنُ تَنْحُومَثَ، وَبَنُو عِيفَايَ النَّطُوفَاتِيِّ، وَيَزَنْيَا بْنُ الْمَعْكِيِّ مَعَ رِجَالِهِمْ. 9 فَحَلَفَ جَدَلِيَا بْنُ أَخِيقَامَ بْنِ شَافَانَ لَهُمْ وَلِرِجَالِهِمْ: «لا تَخَافُوا مِنْ خِدْمَةِ الْكَلْدَانِيِّينَ. أَقِيمُوا فِي الْبِلادِ وَاخْضَعُوا لِمَلِكِ بَابِلَ فَتَنَالُوا خَيْراً. 10 أَمَّا أَنَا فَسَأَسْكُنُ فِي الْمِصْفَاةِ، وَأَتَوَلَّى الأَمْرَ عَنْكُمْ لَدَى الْكَلْدَانِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ يَفِدُونَ إِلَيْنَا أَمَّا أَنْتُمْ فَاجْمَعُوا خَمْراً وَقِطَافَ الصَّيْفِ وَالزَّيْتَ وَادَّخِرُوهَا فِي أَوْعِيَتِكُمْ وَأَقِيمُوا فِي مُدُنِكُمُ الَّتِي أَخَذْتُمُوهَا». 11 وَكَذَلِكَ حِينَ سَمِعَ كُلُّ الْيَهُودِ الْمُشَتَّتِينَ فِي أَرْضِ مُوآبَ وَبَيْنَ بَنِي عَمُّونَ وَفِي أَدُومَ وَفِي الْبُلْدَانِ الأُخْرَى أَنَّ مَلِكَ بَابِلَ قَدْ تَرَكَ بَقِيَّةً مِنْ يَهُوذَا، وَوَلَّى جَدَلِيَا بْنَ أَخِيقَامَ بْنِ شَافَانَ حَاكِماً عَلَيْهِمْ، 12 رَجَعُوا مِنْ كُلِّ الْبِقَاعِ الَّتِي تَشَتَّتُوا إِلَيْهَا، وَجَاءُوا إِلَى أَرْضِ يَهُوذَا إِلَى جَدَلِيَا فِي الْمِصْفَاةِ، وَاخْتَزَنُوا خَمْراً وَغَلّاتٍ كَثِيرَةً مِنْ قِطَافِ الصَّيْفِ.
13 ثُمَّ اجْتَمَعَ يُوحَانَانُ بْنُ قَارِيحَ وَسَائِرُ رُؤَسَاءِ الْقُوَّاتِ الَّذِينَ لاذُوا بِالصَّحْرَاءِ إِلَى جَدَلِيَا فِي الْمِصْفَاةِ، 14 وَقَالُوا لَهُ: «أَتَدْرِي أَنَّ بَعْلِيسَ مَلِكَ بَنِي عَمُّونَ قَدْ بَعَثَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ نَثَنْيَا لِيَغْتَالَكَ؟» فَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ جَدَلِيَا بْنُ أَخِيقَامَ. 15 فَقَالَ يُوحَانَانُ بْنُ قَارِيحَ لِجَدَلْيَا سِرّاً فِي الْمِصْفَاةِ: «دَعْنِي أَذْهَبُ وَأَقْتُلُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ نَثَنْيَا مِنْ غَيْرِ عِلْمِ أَحَدٍ فَلِمَاذَا يَغْتَالُكَ فَيَتَبَدَّدَ جَمِيعُ الْمُجْتَمِعِينَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ شَعْبِ الْيَهُودِ، وَتَهْلِكَ بَقِيَّةُ يَهُوذَا؟». 16 فَأَجَابَ جَدَلِيَا بْنُ أَخِيقَامَ يُوحَانَانَ بْنَ قَارِيحَ: «لا تَرْتَكِبْ هَذَا الأَمْرَ لأَنَّكَ تَتَّهِمُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ كَذِباً».

40 Questa parola fu rivolta a Geremia dal Signore, dopo che Nabuzaradàn, capo delle guardie, lo aveva rimandato libero da Rama, avendolo preso mentre era legato con catene in mezzo a tutti i deportati di Gerusalemme e di Giuda, i quali venivano condotti in esilio a Babilonia. 2 Il capo delle guardie prese Geremia e gli disse: «Il Signore tuo Dio ha predetto questa sventura per questo luogo; 3 il Signore l'ha mandata, compiendo quanto aveva minacciato, perché voi avete peccato contro il Signore e non avete ascoltato la sua voce; perciò vi è capitata una cosa simile. 4 Ora ecco, ti sciolgo queste catene dalle mani. Se preferisci venire con me a Babilonia, vieni; io veglierò su di te. Se invece preferisci non venire con me a Babilonia, rimani. Vedi, tutta la regione sta davanti a te; và pure dove ti piace e ti è comodo andare. 5 Torna pure presso Godolia figlio di Achikàm, figlio di Safàn, che il re di Babilonia ha messo a capo delle città di Giuda. Rimani con lui in mezzo al popolo oppure và dove ti piace andare».
Il capo delle guardie gli diede provviste di cibo e un regalo e lo licenziò. 6 Allora Geremia andò in Mizpà da Godolia figlio di Achikàm, e si stabilì con lui in mezzo al popolo che era rimasto nel paese.
Godolia governatore: suo assassinio
7 Tutti i capi dell'esercito, che si erano dispersi per la regione con i loro uomini, vennero a sapere che il re di Babilonia aveva messo a capo del paese Godolia figlio di Achikàm, e gli aveva affidato gli uomini, le donne, i bambini e i poveri del paese che non erano stati deportati a Babilonia. 8 Si recarono allora da Godolia in Mizpà Ismaele figlio di Natania, Giovanni figlio di Kàreca, Seraià figlio di Tancùmet, i figli di Ofi di Netofa e Iezanià figlio del Maacatita con i loro uomini. 9 Godolia figlio di Achikàm, figlio di Safàn, giurò a loro e ai loro uomini: «Non temete i funzionari caldei; rimanete nel paese e state soggetti al re di Babilonia e vi troverete bene. 10 Quanto a me, ecco, io mi stabilisco in Mizpà come vostro rappresentante di fronte ai Caldei che verranno da noi; ma voi fate pure la raccolta del vino, delle frutta e dell'olio, riponete tutto nei vostri magazzini e dimorate nelle città da voi occupate».
11 Anche tutti i Giudei che si trovavano in Moab, tra gli Ammoniti, in Edom e in tutte le altre regioni, seppero che il re di Babilonia aveva lasciato una parte della popolazione in Giuda e aveva messo a capo di essa Godolia figlio di Achikàm, figlio di Safàn. 12 Tutti questi Giudei ritornarono da tutti i luoghi nei quali si erano dispersi e vennero nel paese di Giuda presso Godolia a Mizpà. Raccolsero vino e frutta in grande abbondanza.
13 Ora Giovanni figlio di Kàreca e tutti i capi delle bande armate che si erano dispersi per la regione, si recarono da Godolia in Mizpà 14 e gli dissero: «Non sai che Baalìs re degli Ammoniti ha mandato Ismaele figlio di Natania per toglierti la vita?». Ma Godolia figlio di Achikàm non credette loro.
15 Allora Giovanni figlio di Kàreca parlò segretamente con Godolia in Mizpà: «Io andrò a colpire Ismaele figlio di Natania senza che alcuno lo sappia. Perché egli dovrebbe toglierti la vita, così che vadano dispersi tutti i Giudei che si sono raccolti intorno a te e perisca tutto il resto di Giuda?». 16 Ma Godolia figlio di Achikàm rispose a Giovanni figlio di Kàreca: «Non commettere una cosa simile, perché è una menzogna quanto tu dici di Ismaele».

40 جَاءَتْ هَذِهِ الكَلِمَةُ إلَى إرْمِيَا مِنَ اللهِ، بَعْدَ أنْ أطلَقَهُ نَبُوزَرَادَانُ، رَئِيسُ الحَرَسِ، وَتَرَكَهُ لِيَذْهَبَ مِنَ الرَّامَةِ. عِنْدَمَا وَجَدَهُ، كَانَ مَربُوطًا بِقُيُودٍ وَسَطَ الَّذِينَ سُبُوا مِنَ مَدِينَةِ القُدْسِ وَيَهُوذَا إلَى بَابِلَ. 2 فَأخَذَ رَئِيسُ الحَرَسِ إرْمِيَا وَقَالَ لَهُ: «إلَهُكَ جَاءَ بِهَذِهِ الكَارِثَةِ عَلَى هَذَا المَكَانِ. 3 صَنَعَ اللهُ هَذَا وَعَمِلَ كَمَا قَالَ، لِأنَّكُمْ أخطَأتُمْ إلَى اللهِ وَلَمْ تُطِيعُوا صَوْتَهُ. فَحَدَثَ هَذَا لَكُمْ. 4 وَالْآنَ قَدْ أطلَقْتُكَ مِنْ قُيُودِكَ الَّتِي عَلَى يَدَيْكَ. فَإنْ أرَدْتَ أنْ تَأْتِيَ مَعِي إلَى بَابِلَ، تَعَالَ، وَأنَا سَأهتَمُّ بِكَ. وَلَكِنْ إنْ لَمْ تَسْتَحْسِنْ أنْ تَأْتِيَ مَعِي إلَى بَابِلَ، فَلَا تَأْتِ. كُلُّ الأرْضِ أمَامَكَ، فَاذهَبْ حَيْثُ تُحِبُّ وَتَسْتَحْسِنُ. 5 وَإنْ أرَدْتَ، فَارْجِعْ إلَى جَدَلْيَا بْنِ أخِيقَامَ بْنِ شَافَانَ الَّذِي عَيَّنَهُ مَلِكُ بَابِلَ كَمُشرِفٍ عَلَى مُدُنِ يَهُوذَا، وَابقَ هُنَاكَ مَعَهُ وَسَطَ الشَّعْبِ، أوِ اذْهَبْ إلَى أيِّ مَكَانٍ تَرَاهُ مُنَاسِبًا لَكَ.»
وَأعْطَاهُ رَئِيسُ الحَرَسِ زَادًا وَهَدِيَّةً وَأرسَلَهُ. 6 وَأتَى إرْمِيَا إلَى جَدَلْيَا بْنِ أخِيقَامَ فِي المِصْفَاةِ، وَبَقِيَ مَعَهُ وَسَطَ الشَّعْبِ الَّذِي بَقِيَ فِي الأرْضِ.
جَدَلْيَا حَاكِمُ يَهُوذَا
7 وَسَمِعَ كُلُّ قَادَةِ الجُيُوشِ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا فِي الحَقْلِ وَرِجَالُهُمْ أنَّ مَلِكَ بَابِلَ عَيَّنَ جَدَلْيَا بْنَ أخِيقَامَ حَاكِمًا فِي الأرْضِ، وَأنَّهُ جَعَلَهُ مَسؤُولًا عَنِ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ وَالأطْفَالِ، مِنْ فُقَرَاءِ الأرْضِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُسبَوْا إلَى بَابِلَ. 8 وَأتَى الرِّجَالُ التَّالِيَةُ أسمَاؤُهُمْ إلَى جَدَلْيَا فِي المِصْفَاةِ: إسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ نَثَنْيَا وَيُوحَانَانُ وَيُونَاثَانُ ابنَا قَارِيحَ، وَسَرَايَا بْنُ تَنْحُومَثَ، وَأبْنَاءُ عُوفَايَ النَّطُوفَاتِيِّ، وَيَزَنْيَا بْنُ المَعكِيِّ. أتَى هَؤُلَاءِ مَعَ رِجَالِهِمْ إلَى جَدَلْيَا فِي المِصْفَاةِ.
9 وَأقسَمَ جَدَلْيَا بْنُ أخِيقَامَ بْنِ شَافَانَ لَهُمْ وَلِرِجَالِهِمْ فَقَالَ: «لَا تَخَافُوا مِنْ أنْ تَخْدِمُوا البَابِلِيِّينَ. فَاسكُنُوا وَاخدِمُوا مَلِكَ بَابِلَ. حِينَئِذٍ، سَتَكُونُونَ بِخَيرٍ. 10 أمَّا أنَا فَسَأبقَى فِي المِصْفَاةِ لِأُمَثِّلَكُمْ أمَامَ البَابِلِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ يَأْتُونَ إلَينَا. أمَّا أنْتُمْ فَاجمَعُوا نَبِيذَكُمْ وَثِمَارَكُمْ وَزَيْتَكُمْ وَضَعُوهَا فِي آنِيَتِكُمْ. وَاسكُنُوا فِي مُدُنِكُمُ الَّتِي أخَذْتُمُوهَا.»
11 وَسَمِعَ كُلُّ اليَهُودِ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا فِي مُوآبَ وَوَسَطَ العَمُّونِيِّينَ وَفِي أدُومَ، وَفِي كُلِّ الأمَاكِنِ الأُخرَى، بِأنَّ مَلِكَ بَابِلَ قَدْ أبقَى عَلَى بَعْضِ شَعْبِ يَهُوذَا، وَأنَّهُ قَدْ عَيَّنَ جَدَلْيَا بْنَ أخِيقَامَ بْنِ شَافَانَ مُشرِفًا عَلَيْهِمْ. 12 فَرَجِعَ كُلُّ اليَهُودِ مِنْ كُلِّ الأمَاكِنِ الَّتِي كَانُوا قَدْ طُرِدُوا إلَيْهَا، وَأتَوْا إلَى أرْضِ يَهُوذَا، إلَى جَدَلْيَا، فِي المِصْفَاةِ. وَجَمَعُوا الكَثِيرَ مِنَ النَّبِيذِ وَالفَاكِهَةِ.
13 وَأتَى يُوحَانَانُ وَكُلُّ قَادَةِ الجُيُوشِ، الَّذِينَ فِي الحُقُولِ، إلَى جَدَلْيَا فِي المصفَاةِ، 14 وَقَالُوا لَهُ: «هَلْ تَعْرِفُ أنَّ بَعلِيسَ مَلِكَ العَمُّونِيِّينَ قَدْ أرْسَلَ إسمَاعِيلَ بْنَ نَثَنْيَا لِيَقْتُلَكَ؟» وَلَكِنَّ جَدَلْيَا بْنَ أخِيقَامَ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ.
15 ثُمَّ أتَى يُوحَانَانُ بْنُ قَارِيحَ سِرًّا إلَى جَدَلْيَا فِي المِصْفَاةِ، وَقَالَ لَهُ: «دَعْنِي أذهَبْ فَأقتُلَ إسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ نَثَنْيَا. وَلَنْ يَعْرِفَ أحَدٌ بِهَذَا. فَلِمَاذَا نَتْرُكُهُ فَيَقْتُلَكَ؟ وَإنْ قَتَلَكَ، سَيَتَشَتَّتُ بَنُو يَهُوذَا الَّذِينَ اجتَمَعُوا حَوْلَكَ. وَقَدْ تَهْلِكُ بَقِيَّةُ يَهُوذَا.»
16 وَلَكِنَّ جَدَليَا بْنَ أخِيقَامَ قَالَ لِيُوحَانَانَ بْنَ قَارِيحَ: «لَا تَعْمَلْ هَذَا الأمْرَ، لِأنَّ مَا تَقُولُهُ عَنْ إسْمَاعِيلَ كَذِبٌ.»

40 The word came to Jeremiah from the Lord after Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard had released him at Ramah.(A) He had found Jeremiah bound in chains among all the captives(B) from Jerusalem and Judah who were being carried into exile to Babylon. 2 When the commander(C) of the guard found Jeremiah, he said to him, “The Lord your God decreed(D) this disaster(E) for this place.(F) 3 And now the Lord has brought it about; he has done just as he said he would. All this happened because you people sinned(G) against the Lord and did not obey(H) him. 4 But today I am freeing(I) you from the chains(J) on your wrists. Come with me to Babylon, if you like, and I will look after you; but if you do not want to, then don’t come. Look, the whole country lies before you; go wherever you please.”(K) 5 However, before Jeremiah turned to go,[a] Nebuzaradan added, “Go back to Gedaliah(L) son of Ahikam,(M) the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed(N) over the towns(O) of Judah, and live with him among the people, or go anywhere else you please.”(P)
Then the commander gave him provisions and a present(Q) and let him go. 6 So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah son of Ahikam at Mizpah(R) and stayed with him among the people who were left behind in the land.
Gedaliah Assassinated(S)
7 When all the army officers and their men who were still in the open country heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam as governor(T) over the land and had put him in charge of the men, women and children who were the poorest(U) in the land and who had not been carried into exile to Babylon, 8 they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah(V)—Ishmael(W) son of Nethaniah, Johanan(X) and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth, the sons of Ephai the Netophathite,(Y) and Jaazaniah[b] the son of the Maakathite,(Z) and their men. 9 Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, took an oath to reassure them and their men. “Do not be afraid to serve(AA) the Babylonians,[c](AB)” he said. “Settle down in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will go well with you.(AC) 10 I myself will stay at Mizpah(AD) to represent you before the Babylonians who come to us, but you are to harvest the wine,(AE) summer fruit and olive oil, and put them in your storage jars,(AF) and live in the towns you have taken over.”(AG)
11 When all the Jews in Moab,(AH) Ammon, Edom(AI) and all the other countries(AJ) heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant in Judah and had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, as governor over them, 12 they all came back to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah at Mizpah, from all the countries where they had been scattered.(AK) And they harvested an abundance of wine and summer fruit.
13 Johanan(AL) son of Kareah and all the army officers still in the open country came to Gedaliah at Mizpah(AM) 14 and said to him, “Don’t you know that Baalis king of the Ammonites(AN) has sent Ishmael(AO) son of Nethaniah to take your life?” But Gedaliah son of Ahikam did not believe them.
15 Then Johanan(AP) son of Kareah said privately to Gedaliah in Mizpah, “Let me go and kill(AQ) Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and no one will know it. Why should he take your life and cause all the Jews who are gathered around you to be scattered(AR) and the remnant(AS) of Judah to perish?”
16 But Gedaliah son of Ahikam said to Johanan(AT) son of Kareah, “Don’t do such a thing! What you are saying about Ishmael is not true.”
