여호와의 날
2 시온에서 나팔을 불고 [a]하나님의 거룩한 산에서 경종을 울려 이 땅에 사는 모 든 사람들을 떨게 하라. 여호와의 심판 날이 다가오고 있다.
2 그 날은 어둡고 침울한 날이며 캄캄하고 구름 낀 날이다. 새벽의 여명이 온 산을 뒤덮듯이 크고 강한 군대가 이르렀으니 이와 같은 일은 전에도 없었고 앞으로도 없을 것이다.
3 불이 그들의 앞을 삼키고 불꽃이 그들의 뒤를 태우고 있다. 그들의 앞에 있는 땅은 에덴 동산 같고 그들의 뒤에 있는 땅은 황폐한 사막 같으니 그들을 피할 자가 없을 것이다.
4 그들은 모양이 말 같아서 기병처럼 달린다.
5 그들이 산꼭대기에서 뛰는 소리는 전차 소리 같고 마른 풀이 불에 타는 소리 같으며 그들이 전열을 갖춘 큰 군대처럼 늘어섰으니
6 그들을 본 사람들이 질겁하여 새파랗게 질려 버렸다.
7 그들은 용사처럼 공격하며 무사처럼 성벽을 기어오르고 곧장 앞을 향하여 자기 대열을 벗어나지 않는다.
8 그들이 서로 부딪치지 않고 각자 자기 위치를 지키며 방어진을 뚫고 나아가나 대열이 끊어지지 않는구나.
9 그들이 성으로 뛰어들고 성벽 위로 달리며 집 안으로 기어오르고 도둑같이 창으로 들어가니
10 그들 앞에서 땅이 진동하며 하늘이 떨고 해와 달이 어두워지며 별들이 빛을 잃는다.
11 여호와께서 그 군대에게 명령을 내리시고 그의 명령을 수행하는 군대는 그 수가 엄청나고 막강하다. 여호와의 날이 무섭고 두려우니 누가 살아 남을 수 있겠는가?
너희 마음을 찢어라
12 여호와께서 “너희는 지금이라도 금식하고 울고 애통하며 진심으로 뉘우치고 나에게 돌아오라” 고 말씀하신다.
13 그러므로 너희는 옷을 찢을 것이 아니라 너희 마음을 찢고 너희 하나님 여호와에게 돌아오라. 그는 은혜롭고 자비로우시며 좀처럼 화를 내지 않으시고 사랑이 많으셔서 벌하는 것을 마음 아프게 여기는 분이시다.
14 혹시 너희 하나님 여호와께서 뜻을 돌이키시고 너희를 축복하셔서 너희 하나님께 소제를 드릴 곡식과 전제를 드릴 포도주를 주실는지 누가 알겠는가?
15 너희는 시온에서 나팔을 불어 특별히 금식일을 정하고 거룩한 모임을 선포하여
16 백성을 모으고 그 모임을 거룩하게 하라. 장로들을 데려오고 아이들과 젖먹이들을 모으며 신혼 부부도 그들의 방에서 나오게 하라.
17 여호와를 섬기는 제사장들은 성전 현관과 제단 사이에서 울며 이렇게 기도하라. “여호와여, 우리를 불쌍히 여기셔서 주의 백성인 우리가 이방 나라의 멸시와 조롱거리가 되지 않게 하소서. 어째서 이방 나라들에게 ‘너희 하나님이 어디 있느냐?’ 하고 말하게 하십니까?”
여호와의 응답
18 그때 여호와께서 [b]자기 땅에 대하여 관심을 보이시고 자기 백성을 불쌍히 여기시며
19 그들에게 이렇게 대답하실 것이다. “내가 너희에게 곡식과 새 포도주와 기름을 주어 너희를 흡족하게 하고 다시는 너희가 이방 나라의 멸시를 당하지 않게 하겠다.
20 내가 북쪽 군대를 너희에게서 멀리 추방하여 메마르고 황폐한 땅으로 몰아내겠다. 그 전군은 [c]사해로 들어가고 그 후군은 [d]지중해로 들어갈 것이다. 그래서 악취가 나고 상한 냄새가 올라올 것이다. 이것은 내가 너희를 위해 큰 기적을 행하였기 때문이다.”
21 땅이여, 두려워하지 말고 기뻐하며 즐거워하라. 여호와께서 큰 일을 행하셨다.
22 들짐승들아, 두려워하지 말아라. 메마른 들판이 다시 푸르게 되고 나무가 열매를 맺으며 무화과나무와 포도나무가 다시 무성해질 것이다.
23 시온의 백성들아, 너희는 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희를 위해 행하신 일을 보고 기뻐하며 즐거워하라. 그가 너희를 용서한 표로 비를 주실 것이니 이전처럼 [e]봄비와 [f]가을비를 너희에게 내려 주실 것이다.
24 그래서 타작 마당에는 곡식이 가득하고 독에는 새 포도주와 기름이 넘칠 것이다.
25 여호와께서 말씀하신다. “내가 전에 너희에게 보낸 큰 군대, 곧 메뚜기와 느치와 황충과 팥중이가 먹은 것만큼 너희에게 갚아 주겠다.
26 너희는 배부를 때까지 실컷 먹고 너희를 위해 놀라운 일을 행한 너희 하나님 나 여호와의 이름을 찬양할 것이며 다시는 수치를 당하지 않을 것이다.
27 그때 너희는 내가 이스라엘 백성 가운데 있으며 나만이 너희 하나님 여호와임을 알게 될 것이다. 그리고 너희가 다시는 수치를 당하지 않을 것이다.”
성령에 대한 약속
28 “그 후에 내가 성령을 모든 사람에게 부어 주겠다. 너희 자녀들은 예언할 것이며 너희 노인들은 꿈을 꾸고 너희 청년들은 환상을 볼 것이다.
29 그 때에 내가 또 나의 남녀 종들에게 성령을 부어 줄 것이며
30 내가 하늘과 땅에 이상한 징조를 보여 줄 것이니 곧 피와 불과 연기 기둥이다.
31 나 여호와의 크고 두려운 날이 오기 전에 해가 어두워지고 달이 핏빛으로 변할 것이다.
32 누구든지 나 여호와의 이름을 부르는 사람은 구원을 받을 것이다. 내가 말한 대로 시온산과 예루살렘에서 피할 자가 있을 것이며 살아 남은 사람 중에 나의 부름을 받을 자가 있을 것이다.”

耶和华审判的日子
2 你们要在锡安吹响号角，
在我的圣山上发出警讯，
地上的居民都要战抖，
因为耶和华的日子将要来临，
已经近了。
2 那将是乌云密布、
天昏地暗的日子。
来了一支空前绝后、强盛无比的蝗虫大军，
它们像曙光一样布满山头。
3 它们的前队如火燎原，
后队如熊熊烈焰。
它们未到以前，
大地美得像伊甸园；
它们过去之后，
大地变成一片荒场。
地上的一切都逃不过这一场浩劫。
4 它们的形状像马，
快速奔驰如战马，
5 在山岭上跳跃奔腾，
如隆隆战车，
好像烈火吞噬干草的声音，
又如大军摆开阵式准备打仗。
6 它们一来，百姓就惊慌失措，
面如死灰。
7 它们快速奔跑像勇士，
攀登城墙如战士，
有条不紊地前进。
8 队伍整齐，各行其道，
势如破竹，无坚不摧。
9 它们冲向城邑，蹿上城墙，
爬进房屋，
如盗贼般破窗而入。
10 所到之处，
天摇地动，
日月昏暗，
星辰无光。
11 耶和华向祂的军队发号施令，
祂的队伍不计其数，
执行祂命令的是一支劲旅。
耶和华的日子伟大而可畏，
谁能承受得住呢？
呼吁人民悔改
12 耶和华说：
“现在，你们要禁食、哭泣、哀号，
全心回转归向我。”
13 你们要撕心般地悔改，
而不是撕裂衣服。
归向你们的上帝耶和华吧，
因为祂有恩典和怜悯，
不轻易发怒，
有无限的慈爱，
不忍心降灾祸。
14 谁知道呢？
或许祂转念心生怜悯，
给你们留下祝福，
使你们可以再次向你们的上帝耶和华献上素祭和奠祭。
15 要在锡安山吹响号角，
宣布禁食的日子，
举行庄严的聚会。
16 要招聚老人，聚集孩童，
包括吃奶的婴儿；
要吩咐新郎出洞房、
新娘出内室；
要召集全体人民，
让他们洁净自己。
17 让事奉耶和华的祭司站在圣殿门廊和祭坛中间，
哭泣恳求说：
“耶和华啊，
求你顾惜你的子民，
不要让外族人侮辱、
讥笑你的产业说，
‘你们的上帝在哪里呢？’”
再赐祝福
18 耶和华为自己的土地发热心，
祂怜悯自己的子民。
19 祂回应他们说：
“我必赐五谷、新酒和油给你们，
使你们饱足，
不再让你们受列国的羞辱。
20 我要赶出从北方来的军队，
把他们驱逐到一个干旱荒芜的地方，
把他们的领头部队赶进死海，
再把他们的殿后部队赶进地中海，
那时他们必臭气冲天、
腥味腾空，
因为耶和华为你们行了大事。”
21 大地啊，不用惧怕，
倒要欢喜快乐；
因为耶和华行了大事。
22 田野的走兽啊，不要惧怕，
因为绿草铺遍了原野，
树木也结满了果子，
无花果树和葡萄树都结实累累。
23 锡安的人民啊，
你们应当欢喜快乐，
从你们的上帝耶和华那里得到喜乐。
因为祂按时[a]降下甘霖，
像从前一样赐给你们秋雨、
春雨。
24 麦场必堆满五谷，
酒槽里的酒和油槽里的油必满溢。
25 “我派蝻虫、蚱蜢、蚂蚱
和蝗虫大军在那些年所吃掉的，
我要补偿你们。
26 你们必吃得饱足，
并赞美你们的上帝耶和华的名，
因祂为你们行了奇事。
我的子民永远不会再蒙羞。
27 这样，你们就知道我在以色列，
知道我是你们的上帝耶和华，
除我以外别无他神。
我的子民永远不会再蒙羞。
28 “以后，我要将我的灵浇灌所有的人。
你们的儿女要说预言，
老人要做异梦，
青年要见异象。
29 在那些日子，
我要将我的灵浇灌我的仆人和婢女。
30 “我要在天上地下行奇事，你们将看见血、火和烟柱。 31 太阳要变得昏暗，月亮要变得血红。在耶和华伟大而可畏的日子来临以前，这些事都会发生。 32 那时候，凡求告耶和华之名的人都必得救，因为在锡安山，在耶路撒冷城，必有逃脱灾难的人，耶和华所呼召的人必幸存下来，正如耶和华所言。”

An Army of Locusts
Let all who live in the land tremble,
for the day of the Lord(D) is coming.
It is close at hand(E)—
2 a day of darkness(F) and gloom,(G)
a day of clouds(H) and blackness.(I)
Like dawn spreading across the mountains
a large and mighty army(J) comes,
such as never was in ancient times(K)
nor ever will be in ages to come.
3 Before them fire(L) devours,
behind them a flame blazes.
Before them the land is like the garden of Eden,(M)
behind them, a desert waste(N)—
nothing escapes them.
4 They have the appearance of horses;(O)
they gallop along like cavalry.
5 With a noise like that of chariots(P)
they leap over the mountaintops,
like a crackling fire(Q) consuming stubble,
like a mighty army drawn up for battle.
6 At the sight of them, nations are in anguish;(R)
every face turns pale.(S)
7 They charge like warriors;(T)
they scale walls like soldiers.
They all march in line,(U)
not swerving(V) from their course.
8 They do not jostle each other;
each marches straight ahead.
They plunge through defenses
without breaking ranks.
9 They rush upon the city;
they run along the wall.
They climb into the houses;(W)
like thieves they enter through the windows.(X)
10 Before them the earth shakes,(Y)
the heavens tremble,(Z)
the sun and moon are darkened,(AA)
and the stars no longer shine.(AB)
11 The Lord(AC) thunders(AD)
at the head of his army;(AE)
his forces are beyond number,
and mighty is the army that obeys his command.
The day of the Lord is great;(AF)
it is dreadful.
Who can endure it?(AG)
Rend Your Heart
12 “Even now,” declares the Lord,
“return(AH) to me with all your heart,(AI)
with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
13 Rend your heart(AJ)
and not your garments.(AK)
Return(AL) to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,(AM)
slow to anger and abounding in love,(AN)
and he relents from sending calamity.(AO)
14 Who knows? He may turn(AP) and relent(AQ)
and leave behind a blessing(AR)—
grain offerings and drink offerings(AS)
for the Lord your God.
15 Blow the trumpet(AT) in Zion,(AU)
declare a holy fast,(AV)
call a sacred assembly.(AW)
16 Gather the people,
consecrate(AX) the assembly;
bring together the elders,(AY)
gather the children,
those nursing at the breast.
Let the bridegroom(AZ) leave his room
and the bride her chamber.
17 Let the priests, who minister(BA) before the Lord,
weep(BB) between the portico and the altar.(BC)
Let them say, “Spare your people, Lord.
Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn,(BD)
a byword(BE) among the nations.
Why should they say among the peoples,
‘Where is their God?(BF)’”
The Lord’s Answer
19 The Lord replied[a] to them:
“I am sending you grain, new wine(BI) and olive oil,(BJ)
enough to satisfy you fully;(BK)
never again will I make you
an object of scorn(BL) to the nations.
20 “I will drive the northern horde(BM) far from you,
pushing it into a parched and barren land;
its eastern ranks will drown in the Dead Sea
and its western ranks in the Mediterranean Sea.
And its stench(BN) will go up;
its smell will rise.”
Surely he has done great things!
21 Do not be afraid,(BO) land of Judah;
be glad and rejoice.(BP)
Surely the Lord has done great things!(BQ)
22 Do not be afraid, you wild animals,
for the pastures in the wilderness are becoming green.(BR)
The trees are bearing their fruit;
the fig tree(BS) and the vine(BT) yield their riches.(BU)
23 Be glad, people of Zion,
rejoice(BV) in the Lord your God,
for he has given you the autumn rains
because he is faithful.(BW)
He sends you abundant showers,(BX)
both autumn(BY) and spring rains,(BZ) as before.
24 The threshing floors will be filled with grain;
the vats will overflow(CA) with new wine(CB) and oil.
25 “I will repay you for the years the locusts(CC) have eaten(CD)—
the great locust and the young locust,
the other locusts and the locust swarm[b]—
my great army(CE) that I sent among you.
26 You will have plenty to eat, until you are full,(CF)
and you will praise(CG) the name of the Lord your God,
who has worked wonders(CH) for you;
never again will my people be shamed.(CI)
27 Then you will know(CJ) that I am in Israel,
that I am the Lord(CK) your God,
and that there is no other;
never again will my people be shamed.(CL)
The Day of the Lord
28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit(CM) on all people.(CN)
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,(CO)
your old men will dream dreams,(CP)
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants,(CQ) both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.(CR)
30 I will show wonders in the heavens(CS)
and on the earth,(CT)
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
31 The sun will be turned to darkness(CU)
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.(CV)
32 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord(CW) will be saved;(CX)
for on Mount Zion(CY) and in Jerusalem
there will be deliverance,(CZ)
as the Lord has said,
even among the survivors(DA)
