16 여호와께서 다시 나에게 말씀하셨다.
2 “너는 이런 곳에서 결혼하거나 자 녀를 두지 말아라.
3 이 땅에서 난 자녀들과 그들을 낳은 부모들에 대하여 내가 말하겠다.
4 그들은 무서운 병으로 죽을 것이며 그들을 위해 슬퍼하거나 그들을 매장해 주는 자가 없으므로 그들의 시체가 들의 거름더미 같을 것이다. 그들은 전쟁과 기근으로 망하고 그 시체는 공중의 새와 들짐승의 밥이 될 것이다.
5 “너는 초상집에 들어가지 말며 가서 울거나 조의를 표하지 말아라. 내가 이 백성에게서 평화를 빼앗고 나의 사랑과 자비를 거두었다.
6 높은 자나 낮은 자가 다 이 땅에서 죽고 그들을 매장하거나 그들을 위해 우는 자가 없을 것이며 슬퍼서 자기 살을 베거나 머리를 미는 자들도 없을 것이다.
7 또 상주들을 위로하기 위해서 그들에게 음식을 권하거나 부모를 잃은 자들에게 위로의 잔을 권할 자들이 없을 것이다.
8 “너는 잔칫집에 들어가서 그들과 함께 앉아 먹거나 마시지 말아라.
9 이스라엘의 하나님 전능한 나 여호와가 말한다. 네가 살아 있는 동안 내가 이 땅에서 기뻐하고 즐거워하는 소리와 신랑 신부의 소리가 들리지 않게 하겠다.
10 “네가 이 모든 것을 백성들에게 말할 때 그들이 너에게 ‘여호와께서는 어째서 우리에게 이런 큰 재앙을 선포하시는가? 우리가 잘못한 것이 무엇이며 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와께 범죄한 것이 무엇인가?’ 하고 묻거든
11 너는 그들에게 이렇게 대답하라: 여호와께서 말씀하셨다. ‘너희 조상들이 나를 떠나서 다른 신들을 좇아 그들에게 절하고 섬기며 나를 버리고 내 법을 지키지 않았다.
12 그런데 너희는 너희 조상들보다도 더 많은 악을 행하였다. 너희가 모두 너희 마음의 악한 고집대로 행하고 나에게 순종하지 않았으므로
13 내가 너희를 이 땅에서 너희와 너희 조상들이 전에 알지 못하던 땅으로 추방해 버릴 것이다. 너희는 거기서 밤낮 다른 신들을 섬기게 될 것이며 나는 너희에게 은혜를 베풀지 않을 것이다.’ ”
이스라엘의 회복
14-15 여호와께서 말씀하셨다. “그러나 다시 는 ‘이스라엘 백성을 이집트에서 인도해 내신 살아 계신 하나님’ 이란 말로 맹세하지 않고 ‘이스라엘 백성을 북쪽 땅과 쫓겨간 모든 나라에서 인도해 내신 살아 계신 하나님’ 이란 말로 맹세하게 될 날이 올 것이다. 내가 그들을 그 조상들에게 준 그들의 땅으로 다시 돌아오게 하겠다.”
16 여호와께서 다시 말씀하셨다. “보라, 내가 많은 어부들을 불러다가 이 백성들을 낚아내게 하며 많은 사냥꾼들을 불러다가 모든 산과 굴과 바위 틈에서 그들을 사냥하게 하겠다.
17 나는 그들이 행하는 일을 다 지켜 보고 있으므로 그들이 나를 피해 숨을 수 없고 그들의 죄도 내 앞에서 숨겨질 수가 없다.
18 내가 그들의 죄와 악에 대하여 배로 갚아 주겠다. 이것은 그들이 시체와 같은 생명 없는 우상으로 내 땅을 더럽히고 그 땅에 더럽고 추한 것으로 가득 채웠기 때문이다.”
19 여호와여, 주는 나의 힘이 되시고 나의 요새가 되시며 환난 날에 피난처가 되십니다. 세계 각처에서 여러 민족이 주께 나아와 이렇게 말할 것입니다. “우리 조상들이 우리에게 물려 준 것은 거짓되고 쓸모없는 헛된 우상뿐이었습니다.
20 사람이 어떻게 신이 아닌 것을 자기 신으로 삼을 수 있겠습니까?”

16 耶和华对耶利米说： 2 “你不可在这地方娶妻，也不可生儿育女。 3 至于在这地方出生的孩子和他们的父母，耶和华说， 4 ‘他们必死于恶疾，无人哀悼，无人埋葬，他们好像地上的粪便。他们必死于战争和饥荒，尸首必成为飞鸟和走兽的食物。’” 5 耶和华对我说：“你不要进入丧家为他们哀悼悲伤，因为我已收回我赐给这百姓的平安、慈爱和怜悯。这是耶和华说的。 6 他们无论尊卑都要死在这里，无人埋葬，无人哀悼，也无人为他们的死而割伤身体、剃光头发。 7 无人用食物和酒安慰哀悼者，甚至无人给丧父或丧母者一杯安慰酒。 8 你不可进入宴乐之家与他们同坐吃喝。” 9 以色列的上帝——万军之耶和华说：“在这百姓有生之年，我要使这地方的欢乐声和新郎新娘的欢笑声从他们眼前消失。

14 耶和华说：“时候将到，那时人不再凭把以色列人带出埃及的耶和华起誓， 15 而是凭把他们从流放之地——北方和列国领回来的永活的耶和华起誓。因为我必领他们回到我赐给他们祖先的地方。”
16 耶和华说：“看啊，我要召来许多渔夫把他们捕捞上来，我要召来许多猎人去各山岭和岩穴猎取他们。 17 因为我鉴察他们的一切行为，他们无法隐藏，他们的罪恶逃不过我的眼晴。 18 首先，我要让他们因自己的罪与恶而受加倍的报应，因为他们用没有生命气息的可憎偶像玷污我的土地，使可厌之物充满我的产业。”
19 耶和华啊，你是我的力量，
是我的堡垒，
是我患难时的避难所。
万国都要从地极来朝见你，
说：“我们祖先所拜的神像虚假无用，一无是处。
20 难道人可以为自己制造神明吗？
其实那些神明并不是真神。”
21 耶和华说：“看啊，这一次我要让他们知道我的权柄和能力，让他们知道我是耶和华。”

16 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 2 “You must not marry(A) and have sons or daughters in this place.” 3 For this is what the Lord says about the sons and daughters born in this land and about the women who are their mothers and the men who are their fathers:(B) 4 “They will die of deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried(C) but will be like dung lying on the ground.(D) They will perish by sword and famine,(E) and their dead bodies will become food for the birds and the wild animals.”(F)
5 For this is what the Lord says: “Do not enter a house where there is a funeral meal; do not go to mourn or show sympathy, because I have withdrawn my blessing, my love and my pity(G) from this people,” declares the Lord. 6 “Both high and low will die in this land.(H) They will not be buried or mourned,(I) and no one will cut(J) themselves or shave(K) their head for the dead. 7 No one will offer food(L) to comfort those who mourn(M) for the dead—not even for a father or a mother—nor will anyone give them a drink to console(N) them.
8 “And do not enter a house where there is feasting and sit down to eat and drink.(O) 9 For this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Before your eyes and in your days I will bring an end to the sounds(P) of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride(Q) and bridegroom in this place.(R)
10 “When you tell these people all this and they ask you, ‘Why has the Lord decreed such a great disaster against us? What wrong have we done? What sin have we committed against the Lord our God?’(S) 11 then say to them, ‘It is because your ancestors forsook me,’ declares the Lord, ‘and followed other gods and served and worshiped(T) them. They forsook me and did not keep my law.(U) 12 But you have behaved more wickedly than your ancestors.(V) See how all of you are following the stubbornness of your evil hearts(W) instead of obeying me. 13 So I will throw you out of this land(X) into a land neither you nor your ancestors have known,(Y) and there you will serve other gods(Z) day and night, for I will show you no favor.’(AA)
14 “However, the days are coming,”(AB) declares the Lord, “when it will no longer be said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’(AC) 15 but it will be said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north(AD) and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’(AE) For I will restore(AF) them to the land I gave their ancestors.(AG)
16 “But now I will send for many fishermen,” declares the Lord, “and they will catch them.(AH) After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt(AI) them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks.(AJ) 17 My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden(AK) from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.(AL) 18 I will repay(AM) them double(AN) for their wickedness and their sin, because they have defiled my land(AO) with the lifeless forms of their vile images(AP) and have filled my inheritance with their detestable idols.(AQ)”(AR)
19 Lord, my strength and my fortress,
my refuge(AS) in time of distress,
to you the nations will come(AT)
from the ends of the earth and say,
“Our ancestors possessed nothing but false gods,(AU)
worthless idols(AV) that did them no good.(AW)
20 Do people make their own gods?
Yes, but they are not gods!”(AX)
21 “Therefore I will teach them—
this time I will teach them
my power and might.
Then they will know
that my name(AY) is the Lord.

16 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 2 “You must not marry(A) and have sons or daughters in this place.” 3 For this is what the Lord says about the sons and daughters born in this land and about the women who are their mothers and the men who are their fathers:(B) 4 “They will die of deadly diseases. They forsook me and did not keep my law.(U) 12 But you have behaved more wickedly than your ancestors.(V) See how all of you are following the stubbornness of your evil hearts(W) instead of obeying me. 13 So I will throw you out of this land(X) into a land neither you nor your ancestors have known,(Y) and there you will serve other gods(Z) day and night, for I will show you no favor.’(AA)
14 “However, the days are coming,”(AB) declares the Lord, “when it will no longer be said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’(AC) 15 but it will be said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north(AD) and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’(AE) For I will restore(AF) them to the land I gave their ancestors.(AG)
16 “But now I will send for many fishermen,” declares the Lord, “and they will catch them.(AH) After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt(AI) them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks.(AJ) 17 My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden(AK) from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.(AL) 18 I will repay(AM) them double(AN) for their wickedness and their sin, because they have defiled my land(AO) with the lifeless forms of their vile images(AP) and have filled my inheritance with their detestable idols.(AQ)”(AR)
19 Lord, my strength and my fortress,
my refuge(AS) in time of distress,
to you the nations will come(AT)
from the ends of the earth and say,
“Our ancestors possessed nothing but false gods,(AU)
worthless idols(AV) that did them no good.(AW)
20 Do people make their own gods?
Yes, but they are not gods!”(AX)
21 “Therefore I will teach them—
this time I will teach them
my power and might.
Then they will know
that my name(AY) is the Lord.
