El pecado, la fe y el deber
17 Luego dijo Jesús a sus discípulos:
—Los tropiezos son inevitables, pero ¡ay de aquel que los ocasiona! 2 Más le valdría ser arrojado al mar con una piedra de molino atada al cuello que servir de tropiezo a uno solo de estos pequeños. 3 Así que, ¡cuídense!
»Si tu hermano peca, repréndelo; y si se arrepiente, perdónalo. 4 Aun si peca contra ti siete veces en un día, y siete veces regresa a decirte que se arrepiente, perdónalo.
5 Entonces los apóstoles dijeron al Señor:
—¡Aumenta nuestra fe!
6 —Si ustedes tuvieran una fe tan pequeña como una semilla de mostaza —respondió el Señor—, podrían decirle a este árbol sicómoro: “Arráncate de aquí y plántate en el mar” y les obedecería.
7 »Supongamos que uno de ustedes tiene un siervo que ha estado arando el campo o cuidando las ovejas. Cuando el siervo regresa del campo, ¿acaso le diría “ven enseguida a sentarte a la mesa”? 8 ¿No le diría más bien “prepárame la comida y cámbiate de ropa para atenderme mientras yo ceno; después tú podrás cenar”? 9 ¿Acaso le daría las gracias al siervo por haber hecho lo que se le mandó? 10 Así también ustedes, cuando hayan hecho todo lo que se les ha mandado, deben decir: “Somos siervos inútiles; no hemos hecho más que cumplir con nuestro deber”.
Jesús sana a diez enfermos de la piel
11 Un día, siguiendo su viaje a Jerusalén, Jesús pasaba por Samaria y Galilea. 12 Cuando estaba por entrar en un pueblo, salieron a su encuentro diez hombres que tenían enferma la piel. Como se habían quedado a cierta distancia, 13 gritaron:
—¡Jesús, Maestro, ten compasión de nosotros!
14 Al verlos, les dijo:
—Vayan a presentarse a los sacerdotes.
Resultó que, mientras iban de camino, quedaron limpios.
15 Uno de ellos, al verse ya sano, regresó alabando a Dios a grandes voces. 16 Cayó rostro en tierra a los pies de Jesús y le dio las gracias, no obstante que era samaritano.
17 —¿Acaso no quedaron limpios los diez? —preguntó Jesús—. ¿Dónde están los otros nueve? 18 ¿No hubo ninguno que regresara a dar gloria a Dios, excepto este extranjero? 19 Levántate y vete —dijo al hombre—; tu fe te ha sanado.
La venida del reino de Dios(A)
20 Los fariseos preguntaron a Jesús cuándo iba a venir el reino de Dios y él les respondió:
—La venida del reino de Dios no es algo que se pueda observar. 21 No van a decir: “¡Mírenlo acá! ¡Mírenlo allá!”. Dense cuenta de que el reino de Dios está entre[a] ustedes.
22 A sus discípulos les dijo:
—Llegará el tiempo en que ustedes anhelarán vivir siquiera uno de los días del Hijo del hombre, pero no podrán. 23 Les dirán: “¡Mírenlo allá! ¡Mírenlo acá!”. No vayan; no los sigan. 24 Porque en su día[b] el Hijo del hombre será como el relámpago que destella e ilumina el cielo de un extremo al otro. 25 Pero antes él tiene que sufrir muchas cosas y ser rechazado por esta generación.
26 »Tal como sucedió en tiempos de Noé, así también será cuando venga el Hijo del hombre. 27 Comían, bebían, se casaban y daban en casamiento, hasta el día en que Noé entró en el arca; entonces llegó el diluvio y los destruyó a todos.
28 »Lo mismo sucedió en tiempos de Lot: comían y bebían, compraban y vendían, sembraban y edificaban. 29 Pero el día en que Lot salió de Sodoma, llovió del cielo fuego y azufre y acabó con todos.
30 »Así será el día en que se manifieste el Hijo del hombre. 31 En aquel día, el que esté en la azotea y tenga sus cosas dentro de la casa, que no baje a buscarlas. Así mismo el que esté en el campo, que no regrese por lo que haya dejado atrás. 32 ¡Acuérdense de la esposa de Lot! 33 El que procure conservar su vida la perderá; y el que la pierda la conservará. 34 Les digo que en aquella noche estarán dos personas en una misma cama: una será llevada y la otra será dejada. 35 Dos mujeres estarán moliendo juntas: una será llevada y la otra será dejada». 36 [c]
37 —¿Dónde, Señor? —preguntaron.
—Donde esté el cadáver, allí se reunirán los buitres —respondió él.

Förförelser. Synd och förlåtelse
17 Jesus sade till sina lärjungar: "Förförelser måste komma, men ve den genom vilken de kommer! 2 Det vore bättre för honom att en kvarnsten lades om hans hals och han kastades i havet än att han vilseleder en av dessa små. 3 Var på er vakt! Om din broder syndar, så tillrättavisa honom, och om han ångrar sig, så förlåt honom. 4 Även om han syndar mot dig sju gånger om dagen och kommer tillbaka till dig sju gånger och säger: Jag ångrar mig, så skall du förlåta honom."
Tro och tjänst
5 Då sade apostlarna till Herren: "Ge oss mer tro." 6 Herren svarade: "Om ni har tro som ett senapskorn, skall ni kunna säga till det här mullbärsfikonträdet: Dra upp dig med rötterna och sätt ner dig i havet! Och det skulle lyda er.
7 Om någon av er har en tjänare som plöjer eller vaktar boskap, säger han då till honom, när han kommer hem från marken: Kom genast och ät. 8 Säger han inte i stället: Laga nu till vad jag skall äta och fäst upp dina kläder och passa upp mig medan jag äter och dricker. Sedan får du själv äta och dricka. 9 Inte tackar han tjänaren, för att denne gjorde det han var tillsagd att göra? 10 Så skall också ni säga, när ni har gjort allt som krävs av er: Nu är vi tjänare utan uppgifter.[a] Vi har bara gjort det vi var skyldiga att göra."
De tio spetälska
11 På sin färd till Jerusalem tog Jesus vägen genom Samarien och Galileen. 12 När han var på väg in i en by, kom tio spetälska män emot honom. De stannade på avstånd 13 och ropade: "Jesus, Mästare, förbarma dig över oss!" 14 Då han fick se dem, sade han: "Gå och visa er för prästerna." Och medan de var på väg dit, blev de rena. 15 Och när en av dem såg att han hade blivit botad, vände han tillbaka och prisade Gud med hög röst 16 och föll ner för Jesu fötter och tackade honom. Och han var samarit.[b] 17 Jesus frågade honom: "Blev inte alla tio rena? Var är de nio? 18 Har verkligen ingen vänt tillbaka för att prisa Gud utom den här främlingen?" 19 Och han sade till honom: "Stig upp och gå! Din tro har frälst dig."
Guds rikes ankomst
20 Då Jesus blev tillfrågad av fariseerna när Guds rike skulle komma, svarade han dem: "Guds rike kommer inte så att man kan se det med ögonen. 21 Inte heller skall man kunna säga: Se, här är det, eller: Där är det. Ty se, Guds rike är mitt ibland er."[c] 22 Till sina lärjungar sade han: "Det skall komma en tid, då ni längtar efter att få se en enda av Människosonens dagar, men ni kommer inte att få det. 23 Man skall säga till er: Se, där är han, eller: Här är han. Men gå inte dit, och följ inte med. 24 Ty liksom blixten flammar till och lyser från himlens ena ända till den andra, så skall Människosonen vara på sin dag. 25 Men först måste han lida mycket och bli förkastad av detta släkte.
26 Som det var på Noas tid, så skall det vara under Människosonens dagar. 27 Folk åt och drack, gifte sig och blev bortgifta, ända till den dag då Noa gick in i arken och floden kom och gjorde slut på dem alla. 28 På samma sätt var det på Lots tid: de åt och drack, köpte och sålde, planterade och byggde, 29 men den dag då Lot gick ut från Sodom lät Gud eld och svavel regna från himlen och gjorde slut på dem alla. 30 På samma sätt skall det vara den dag då Människosonen uppenbarar sig.
31 Om någon den dagen är uppe på taket och har sina tillhörigheter i huset, skall han inte gå ner och hämta dem. På samma sätt skall den som är ute på åkern inte vända tillbaka hem. 32 Tänk på Lots hustru! 33 Den som vill bevara sitt liv skall mista det, men den som mister sitt liv, han skall bevara det. 34 Jag säger er: Den natten skall två ligga i samma säng. Den ene skall tas med och den andre skall lämnas kvar. 35 Två kvinnor skall mala tillsammans. Den ena skall tas med och den andra lämnas kvar."[d] 37 De frågade honom: "Var då, Herre?" Han svarade dem: "Där den döda kroppen ligger, där kommer gamarna att samlas."

17 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.
23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.
24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 Remember Lot's wife.
33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
