15 众税吏和罪人都挨近耶稣，要听他讲道。 2 法利赛人和文士私下议论说：“这个人接待罪人，又同他们吃饭。”
失羊的比喻
3 耶稣就用比喻说： 4 “你们中间谁有一百只羊失去一只，不把这九十九只撇在旷野，去找那失去的羊，直到找着呢？ 5 找着了，就欢欢喜喜地扛在肩上，回到家里， 6 就请朋友邻舍来，对他们说：‘我失去的羊已经找着了，你们和我一同欢喜吧！’ 7 我告诉你们：一个罪人悔改，在天上也要这样为他欢喜，较比为九十九个不用悔改的义人欢喜更大。”
失钱的比喻
8 “或是一个妇人有十块钱，若失落一块，岂不点上灯，打扫屋子，细细地找，直到找着吗？ 9 找着了，就请朋友邻舍来，对他们说：‘我失落的那块钱已经找着了，你们和我一同欢喜吧！’ 10 我告诉你们：一个罪人悔改，在神的使者面前也是这样为他欢喜。”

11 耶稣又说：“一个人有两个儿子。 12 小儿子对父亲说：‘父亲，请你把我应得的家业分给我。’他父亲就把产业分给他们。 13 过了不多几日，小儿子就把他一切所有的都收拾起来，往远方去了。在那里任意放荡，浪费资财。 14 既耗尽了一切所有的，又遇着那地方大遭饥荒，就穷苦起来。 15 于是去投靠那地方的一个人，那人打发他到田里去放猪。 16 他恨不得拿猪所吃的豆荚充饥，也没有人给他。 17 他醒悟过来，就说：‘我父亲有多少的雇工，口粮有余，我倒在这里饿死吗？ 18 我要起来，到我父亲那里去，向他说：“父亲，我得罪了天，又得罪了你。 19 从今以后，我不配称为你的儿子，把我当做一个雇工吧！”’ 20 于是起来，往他父亲那里去。相离还远，他父亲看见，就动了慈心，跑去抱着他的颈项，连连与他亲嘴。 21 儿子说：‘父亲，我得罪了天，又得罪了你。从今以后，我不配称为你的儿子。’ 22 父亲却吩咐仆人说：‘把那上好的袍子快拿出来给他穿，把戒指戴在他指头上，把鞋穿在他脚上， 23 把那肥牛犊牵来宰了，我们可以吃喝快乐！ 24 因为我这个儿子是死而复活，失而又得的。’他们就快乐起来。 25 那时，大儿子正在田里。他回来，离家不远，听见作乐跳舞的声音， 26 便叫过一个仆人来，问是什么事。 27 仆人说：‘你兄弟来了，你父亲因为得他无灾无病地回来，把肥牛犊宰了。’ 28 大儿子却生气，不肯进去。他父亲就出来劝他。 29 他对父亲说：‘我服侍你这多年，从来没有违背过你的命，你并没有给我一只山羊羔，叫我和朋友一同快乐。 30 但你这个儿子和娼妓吞尽了你的产业，他一来了，你倒为他宰了肥牛犊！’ 31 父亲对他说：‘儿啊！你常和我同在，我一切所有的都是你的。 32 只是你这个兄弟是死而复活、失而又得的，所以我们理当欢喜快乐。’”

15 Todos los que cobraban impuestos para Roma y otra gente de mala fama se acercaban a Jesús, para oírlo. 2 Los fariseos y los maestros de la ley lo criticaban por esto, diciendo:
—Éste recibe a los pecadores y come con ellos.
3 Entonces Jesús les dijo esta parábola: 4 «¿Quién de ustedes, si tiene cien ovejas y pierde una de ellas, no deja las otras noventa y nueve en el campo y va en busca de la oveja perdida, hasta encontrarla? 5 Y cuando la encuentra, contento la pone sobre sus hombros, 6 y al llegar a casa junta a sus amigos y vecinos, y les dice: “Alégrense conmigo, porque ya encontré la oveja que se me había perdido.” 7 Les digo que así también hay más alegría en el cielo por un pecador que se convierte que por noventa y nueve justos que no necesitan convertirse.

8 »O bien, ¿qué mujer que tiene diez monedas y pierde una de ellas, no enciende una lámpara y barre la casa buscando con cuidado hasta encontrarla? 9 Y cuando la encuentra, reúne a sus amigas y vecinas, y les dice: “Alégrense conmigo, porque ya encontré la moneda que había perdido.” 10 Les digo que así también hay alegría entre los ángeles de Dios por un pecador que se convierte.»

11 Jesús contó esto también: «Un hombre tenía dos hijos, 12 y el más joven le dijo a su padre: “Padre, dame la parte de la herencia que me toca.” Entonces el padre repartió los bienes entre ellos. 13 Pocos días después el hijo menor vendió su parte de la propiedad, y con ese dinero se fue lejos, a otro país, donde todo lo derrochó llevando una vida desenfrenada. 14 Pero cuando ya se lo había gastado todo, hubo una gran escasez de comida en aquel país, y él comenzó a pasar hambre. 15 Fue a pedir trabajo a un hombre del lugar, que lo mandó a sus campos a cuidar cerdos. 16 Y tenía ganas de llenarse con las algarrobas que comían los cerdos, pero nadie se las daba. 17 Al fin se puso a pensar: “¡Cuántos trabajadores en la casa de mi padre tienen comida de sobra, mientras yo aquí me muero de hambre! 18 Regresaré a casa de mi padre, y le diré: Padre mío, he pecado contra Dios y contra ti; 19 ya no merezco llamarme tu hijo; trátame como a uno de tus trabajadores.” 20 Así que se puso en camino y regresó a la casa de su padre.
»Cuando todavía estaba lejos, su padre lo vio y sintió compasión de él. Corrió a su encuentro, y lo recibió con abrazos y besos. 21 El hijo le dijo: “Padre mío, he pecado contra Dios y contra ti; ya no merezco llamarme tu hijo.” 22 Pero el padre ordenó a sus criados: “Saquen pronto la mejor ropa y vístanlo; pónganle también un anillo en el dedo y sandalias en los pies. 23 Traigan el becerro más gordo y mátenlo. ¡Vamos a celebrar esto con un banquete! 24 Porque este hijo mío estaba muerto y ha vuelto a vivir; se había perdido y lo hemos encontrado.” Comenzaron la fiesta.
25 »Entre tanto, el hijo mayor estaba en el campo. Cuando regresó y llegó cerca de la casa, oyó la música y el baile. 26 Entonces llamó a uno de los criados y le preguntó qué pasaba. 27 El criado le dijo: “Es que su hermano ha vuelto; y su padre ha mandado matar el becerro más gordo, porque lo recobró sano y salvo.” 28 Pero tanto se enojó el hermano mayor, que no quería entrar, así que su padre tuvo que salir a rogarle que lo hiciera. 29 Le dijo a su padre: “Tú sabes cuántos años te he servido, sin desobedecerte nunca, y jamás me has dado ni siquiera un cabrito para tener una comida con mis amigos. 30 En cambio, ahora llega este hijo tuyo, que ha malgastado tu dinero con prostitutas, y matas para él el becerro más gordo.”
31 »El padre le contestó: “Hijo mío, tú siempre estás conmigo, y todo lo que tengo es tuyo. 32 Pero había que celebrar esto con un banquete y alegrarnos, porque tu hermano, que estaba muerto, ha vuelto a vivir; se había perdido y lo hemos encontrado.”»

Parábola de la oveja perdida
(Mt. 18.10-14)
15 Se acercaban a Jesús todos los publicanos y pecadores para oírle, 2 y los fariseos y los escribas murmuraban, diciendo: Este a los pecadores recibe, y con ellos come.(A)
3 Entonces él les refirió esta parábola, diciendo: 4 ¿Qué hombre de vosotros, teniendo cien ovejas, si pierde una de ellas, no deja las noventa y nueve en el desierto, y va tras la que se perdió, hasta encontrarla? 5 Y cuando la encuentra, la pone sobre sus hombros gozoso; 6 y al llegar a casa, reúne a sus amigos y vecinos, diciéndoles: Gozaos conmigo, porque he encontrado mi oveja que se había perdido. 7 Os digo que así habrá más gozo en el cielo por un pecador que se arrepiente, que por noventa y nueve justos que no necesitan de arrepentimiento.

8 ¿O qué mujer que tiene diez dracmas, si pierde una dracma, no enciende la lámpara, y barre la casa, y busca con diligencia hasta encontrarla? 9 Y cuando la encuentra, reúne a sus amigas y vecinas, diciendo: Gozaos conmigo, porque he encontrado la dracma que había perdido. 10 Así os digo que hay gozo delante de los ángeles de Dios por un pecador que se arrepiente.

11 También dijo: Un hombre tenía dos hijos; 12 y el menor de ellos dijo a su padre: Padre, dame la parte de los bienes que me corresponde; y les repartió los bienes. 13 No muchos días después, juntándolo todo el hijo menor, se fue lejos a una provincia apartada; y allí desperdició sus bienes viviendo perdidamente. 14 Y cuando todo lo hubo malgastado, vino una gran hambre en aquella provincia, y comenzó a faltarle. 15 Y fue y se arrimó a uno de los ciudadanos de aquella tierra, el cual le envió a su hacienda para que apacentase cerdos. 16 Y deseaba llenar su vientre de las algarrobas que comían los cerdos, pero nadie le daba. 17 Y volviendo en sí, dijo: ¡Cuántos jornaleros en casa de mi padre tienen abundancia de pan, y yo aquí perezco de hambre! 18 Me levantaré e iré a mi padre, y le diré: Padre, he pecado contra el cielo y contra ti. 19 Ya no soy digno de ser llamado tu hijo; hazme como a uno de tus jornaleros. 20 Y levantándose, vino a su padre. Y cuando aún estaba lejos, lo vio su padre, y fue movido a misericordia, y corrió, y se echó sobre su cuello, y le besó. 21 Y el hijo le dijo: Padre, he pecado contra el cielo y contra ti, y ya no soy digno de ser llamado tu hijo. 22 Pero el padre dijo a sus siervos: Sacad el mejor vestido, y vestidle; y poned un anillo en su mano, y calzado en sus pies. 23 Y traed el becerro gordo y matadlo, y comamos y hagamos fiesta; 24 porque este mi hijo muerto era, y ha revivido; se había perdido, y es hallado. Y comenzaron a regocijarse.

Salió por tanto su padre, y le rogaba que entrase. 29 Mas él, respondiendo, dijo al padre: He aquí, tantos años te sirvo, no habiéndote desobedecido jamás, y nunca me has dado ni un cabrito para gozarme con mis amigos. 30 Pero cuando vino este tu hijo, que ha consumido tus bienes con rameras, has hecho matar para él el becerro gordo. 31 Él entonces le dijo: Hijo, tú siempre estás conmigo, y todas mis cosas son tuyas. 32 Mas era necesario hacer fiesta y regocijarnos, porque este tu hermano era muerto, y ha revivido; se había perdido, y es hallado.

A Lost Sheep, a Lost Coin(A)
15 The tax collectors [C who were despised because they worked for the Roman rulers and were notorious for corruption and extortion] and sinners all ·came [drew near] to listen to Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the ·teachers of the law [scribes] began to ·complain [murmur; grumble]: “Look, this man ·welcomes [associates with; receives] sinners and even eats with them [C indicating social acceptance].”
3 ·Then [So] Jesus told them this ·story [parable]: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep but loses one of them. ·Then he will [L Won’t he…?] leave the other ninety-nine sheep in the ·open field [wilderness; desert] and go out and look for the lost sheep until he finds it. 5 And when he finds it, he ·happily [joyfully] puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. He calls ·to [together] his friends and neighbors and says, ‘·Be happy [Rejoice] with me because I found my lost sheep.’ 7 In the same way, I tell you there is more joy in heaven over one sinner who ·changes his heart and life [repents], than over ninety-nine ·good [righteous; C self-righteous] people who don’t need to ·change [repent].
8 “[L Or] Suppose a woman has ten silver coins [C Greek: drachmas; each equal to about a day’s wage], but loses one. ·She will [Won’t she…?] light a lamp, sweep the house, and ·look [search] carefully for the coin until she finds it. 9 And when she finds it, she will call her friends and neighbors and say, ‘·Be happy [Rejoice] with me because I have found the ·coin [L drachma] that I lost.’ 10 In the same way, [L I tell you] there is joy in the presence of the angels of God when one sinner ·changes his heart and life [repents].”
The Son Who Left Home
11 Then Jesus said, “A man had two sons. 12 The younger son said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the ·property [estate; C his inheritance].’ So the father divided the ·property [wealth; assets; L life] between his two sons. 13 ·Then [Some time later; L After not many days] the younger son gathered up all that was his and traveled ·far away to another [to a distant] country. There he ·wasted [squandered; scattered] his money in ·foolish [wild; reckless] living. 14 After he had spent everything, a time came when there was ·no food anywhere [L a severe famine] in the country, and the son ·was poor and hungry [L began to be in need]. 15 So he ·got a job with [hired himself out to] one of the citizens there who sent the son into the fields to feed pigs [C degrading work, since pigs were ritually unclean and detestable animals to Jews]. 16 The son was so hungry that he wanted to ·eat [or fill his stomach with] the pods the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. 17 When he ·realized what he was doing [came to his senses; L came to himself], he thought, ‘All of my father’s ·servants [hired workers] have ·plenty of [more than enough; abundant] ·food [bread]. But I am here, ·almost dying [perishing] with hunger. 18 I will ·leave and return [get up and go] to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned against ·God [L heaven; C Jews often used “heaven” for “God” out of reverence for the divine Name] and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son, but ·let me be [make me] like one of your ·servants [hired workers].”’ 20 So the son left and went to his father.
“While the son was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt ·sorry [compassion] for his son. So the father ran to him [C an undignified act for a family patriarch; evidence of his unrestrained love] and hugged and kissed him. 21 The son said, ‘Father, I have sinned against ·God [L heaven; v. 18] and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’[a] 22 But the father said to his ·servants [slaves], ‘Hurry! Bring the ·best clothes [L first/best robe; C either the father’s own, or a ceremonial robe for an honored guest] and put them on him. Also, put a ring on his finger [C probably a signet ring indicating sonship and authority; Gen. 41:42] and sandals on his feet [C slaves went barefoot]. 23 And get our ·fat [fattened; C prepared for slaughter] calf and kill it [C people only occasionally ate meat; such a large animal indicates a major celebration] so we can have a feast and celebrate. 24 My son was dead, but now he is alive again! He was lost, but now he is found!’ So they began to celebrate.
25 “The older son was in the field, and as he came closer to the house, he heard the sound of music and dancing. 26 So he ·called to [summoned] one of the [household] servants and asked what all this meant. 27 The servant said, ‘Your brother has come back, and your father killed the ·fat [fattened; v. 23] calf, because your brother came home ·safely [healthy; safe and sound].’ 28 The older son was angry and ·would not [had no desire to] go in to the feast. So his father went out and ·begged [urged; encouraged] him to come in. 29 But the older son ·said to [answered] his father, ‘[L Look; T Behold] I have served you like a slave for many years and have ·always obeyed [never disobeyed; L never neglected] your commands. But you never gave me even a young goat to ·have at a feast [celebrate] with my friends. 30 But ·your other son [L this son of yours], who ·wasted [squandered; devoured] ·all your money [your property; L your life] on prostitutes, comes home, and you kill the fat [fattened; v. 23] calf for him!’ 31 The father said to him, ‘·Son [Child], you ·are always with [or have always stood by] me, and all that I have is yours. 32 [L But] We had to celebrate and ·be happy [rejoice] because ·your brother [L this brother of yours; v. 30] was dead, but ·now he is alive [has come back to life]. He was lost, but now he is found.’”
