    Hör min bön!

3 Från jordens ände ropar jag till dig i min svaghet.
    Led mig upp på klippan, som är högre än jag.
4 Du är min tillflykt,
    ett starkt torn mot fienden.

5 Jag vill för alltid bo i ditt tält
    och ta min tillflykt under dina vingars skugga. Séla
6 Du har hört mina löften, Gud,
    och du har gett mig deras arv som fruktar dig.

7 Ge kungen ett långt liv,
    många år från generation till generation.
8 Låt honom sitta på sin tron inför Gud i evighet.
    Låt din nåd och trofasthet bevara honom.

9 Då ska jag ständigt prisa ditt namn.

Psalm 61[a]

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. Of David.

1 Hear my cry, O God;(A)
    listen to my prayer.(B)

2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
    I call as my heart grows faint;(C)
    lead me to the rock(D) that is higher than I.
3 For you have been my refuge,(E)
    a strong tower against the foe.(F)

4 I long to dwell(G) in your tent forever
    and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.[b](H)
5 For you, God, have heard my vows;(I)
    you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.(J)

6 Increase the days of the king’s life,(K)
    his years for many generations.(L)
7 May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever;(M)
    appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.(N)

8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name(O)
    and fulfill my vows day after day.(P)

A Prayer for Protection[a]

61 Hear my cry, O God;
    listen to my prayer!
2 In despair and far from home
    I call to you!

Take me to a safe refuge,
3     for you are my protector,
    my strong defense against my enemies.

4 Let me live in your sanctuary all my life;
    let me find safety under your wings.
5 You have heard my promises, O God,
    and you have given me what belongs to those who honor you.

6 Add many years to the king's life;
    let him live on and on!
7 May he rule forever in your presence, O God;
    protect him with your constant love and faithfulness.

8 So I will always sing praises to you,
    as I offer you daily what I have promised.
