遭敌迫害求主扶助
54 西弗人来对扫罗说：“大卫岂不是在我们那里藏身吗？”那时，大卫作这训诲诗，交于伶长。用丝弦的乐器。
1 神啊，求你以你的名救我，凭你的大能为我申冤。
2 神啊，求你听我的祷告，留心听我口中的言语。
3 因为外人起来攻击我，强暴人寻索我的命，他们眼中没有神。（细拉）
4 神是帮助我的，是扶持我命的。
5 他要报应我仇敌所行的恶，求你凭你的诚实灭绝他们。
6 我要把甘心祭献给你，耶和华啊，我要称赞你的名，这名本为美好。
7 他从一切的急难中把我救出来，我的眼睛也看见了我仇敌遭报。

English Standard Version
The Lord Upholds My Life
To the choirmaster: with (A)stringed instruments. A Maskil[a] of David, (B)when the Ziphites went and told Saul, “Is not David hiding among us?”
54 O God, save me by your (C)name,
and vindicate me by your might.
2 O God, (D)hear my prayer;
give ear to the words of my mouth.
3 (E)For (F)strangers[b] have risen against me;
ruthless men (G)seek my life;
they do not set God before themselves. Selah
4 Behold, (H)God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life.
5 He will return the evil to my enemies;
in your (I)faithfulness (J)put an end to them.
6 With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you;
I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, (K)for it is good.
7 For he has delivered me from every trouble,
and my eye has (L)looked in triumph on my enemies.

3 Dieu, interviens toi-même ╵et sauve-moi !
Agis avec puissance ╵pour me rendre justice !
4 Ecoute ma prière,
ô Dieu, prête attention ╵à mes paroles !
5 Des étrangers[c] m’ont attaqué,
des gens violents ╵en veulent à ma vie.
Ils n’ont aucun souci de Dieu !

6 Mais Dieu est mon secours !
Le Seigneur est mon seul appui[d].
7 Qu’il fasse retomber le mal ╵sur mes ennemis mêmes.
Dans ta fidélité, ╵réduis-les à néant !
8 Je t’offrirai ╵des sacrifices volontaires[e].
Je te louerai, ╵ô Eternel, ╵car tu es bon,
9 car de toute détresse, ╵tu me délivres,
et je peux regarder ╵mes ennemis en face.

- 54.5 Les Ziphiens n’étaient pas à proprement parler des étrangers, puisqu’ils faisaient partie de la tribu de Juda, mais souvent le mot étranger avait le sens d’ennemi : dans Es 25.5, il est mis en parallèle avec tyran ; ici, avec « gens violents » ; il se rapporte donc plus au caractère qu’à la nationalité des gens concernés. Certains manuscrits hébreux et la version syriaque portent : des orgueilleux.
- 54.6 Cette traduction, déjà adoptée dans l’ancienne version grecque, paraît la mieux appropriée au contexte. Autre traduction : Le Seigneur est avec ceux qui me soutiennent.
